    From The Bostonian:
KG's game winner beats Heat 94-93

Kevin Garnett was fired up for Thursday's contest against the Heat

Miami--The Boston Celtics traveled to Miami on Thursday seeking revenge for opening day, a heartbreak lost to the Heat at home. Kevin Garnett netted the game winning jumper from the elbow, and the Celtics moved to 6-3 on the season.

Garnett amassed a season-high 26 points on 11-15 shooting en route to the victory. After the game, Boston's big man was visibly emotional.

"**** right it feels good," Garnett said postgame. "They may be the 'three kings' or whatever ESPN wants to call them, but I don't see a ring on LeBron's finger."

Ray Allen scored 23 points and Shaquille O'Neal added 14 points and six rebounds off the bench. The Big Shamrock - as he calls himself - tweeted his thoughts postgame.

@SHAQ-TACULAR: "bitty bosh the king? ha! heat got king james king wade and chris bosh the princess."

LeBron James bulldozed the C's for 38

O'Neal and Bosh have a long standing feud that seems to be one sided.

"I don't care what he thinks," Bosh said in response to the tweet. "I let my game do the talking."

Bosh looked like anything but a princess on Thursday night, tallying 21 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in the loss. The Heat were led by LeBron James' 38 points on 15-27 shooting.

      From The Bostonian:
Big 3 blast Wizards for 81

Ray Allen led the way with 29 points

Boston--Celtics opponents are daunted with the task of stopping the Big Three every time the battle Boston. Most nights, at least one of the three future Hall of Famers can be counted on for a big game. Then, there are nights like Wednesday night.

Ray Allen (29 points), Paul Pierce (27 points) and Kevin Garnett (25 points) combined to score 81 points in a 104-94 win over the Washington Wizards. Garnett nabbed nine boards as well.

The Wizards were led by Josh Howard's 24 points and Gilbert Arenas' 23 points, 7 assists.

Despite the Big Three's great play, the Celtics trailed by seven at halftime and it looked as if Arenas was going to have a 40 point night.

Doc Rivers made some adjustments at halftime, and Rajon Rondo held the streaky Arenas to just 2 points in the second half.

"Well, that was big," Rivers said. "Rajon was having a bad shooting night, but his defense was superb and he created shots for his teammates out there."

Rondo had 12 points on 2-8 shooting, but dished 12 helpers and grabbed three steals along the way. The young PG spent most of the second half harassing Arenas and allowed the offense to flow through his teammates.

"I'm exhausted," Rondo said with a smile, "but happy to get a W."

      Game Notes:
The Celtics allowed the Wizards to grab 15 offensive rebounds, a season high.

The Celtics host Oklahoma City on Friday night. The last time the two teams met, Kevin Durant dropped 57 points en route to a 129-89 Thunder win. Less than 12 hours later, Patrick Johnson shipped backup PG Nate Robinson to Toronto for SF Julian Wright and a 1st round pick.

        From The Bostonian:
        Hawks torch Celtics, 123-115

Josh Smith knocks down a jumper

Atlanta--These Celtics don't seem concerned with league statistics. They don't care for coaching styles or the opposing team's usual pace. When they're playing a defensive team with one of the smallest points per 100 possessions ratings in the NBA, they get smoked for 123.

The Celtics looked lost defensively against the much younger, much more athletic Hawks. To make matters worse, Kendrick Perkins left the game early in the first quarter due to a groin pull. The Hawks and their studly center Al Horford benefited from Perkins' absence.

Horford scored a season-high 28 points on 11-13 shooting while grabbing 13 rebounds. Boston's backup big men, Shaquille and Jermaine O'Neal, couldn't keep up with Horford's flurry of jump hooks, 15-footers, and up-and-unders. Shaq played a season-high 29 minutes, but his efforts were mediocre at best.

Boston missed their big man in the middle, both defensively and on the boards. In what is becoming a recurring problem for the C's, Boston allowed the Hawks to grab 11 offensive rebounds. Atlanta capitalized on those opportunities, scoring 17 second chance points - compared to Boston's four.

        Zaza Pachulia sticks a put-back

"It's unacceptable," Garnett said responding to a question about Atlanta's offensive rebounds. "We gave up 15 to Washington a week ago. Today it's 11. Something needs to be done. Everyone's accountable, myself included."

Horford, Joe Johnson (24), Jamal Crawford (22), Josh Smith (18) and Mike Bibby (12) all scored in double figures
for the Hawks who shot 53% from the field for the entire game.

Boston led for three quarters, relying on Garnett's hot shooting night (31 points, 12-19 FG) and Rajon Rondo's great all-around game (26 points, 18 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals) to keep it close. In the fourth period, the Celtics' defense collapsed, allowing 37 points.

        Game Notes:
Celtics PG Rajon Rondo leads the league in assists (12.2 per game) after Monday night's 18 assist performance.

Re: Going Green: The Celtics (2k11)

I have to apologize to anyone who may have been reading this. My file was corrupted so there will be no more Going Green.

I am thinking about starting another association, but it wouldn't be with the Celtics. I'd probably do it with the Cavs (my favorite team and one in desperate need of rebuilding).

This thread has about 250 views, so someone must be reading it. Any thoughts comments?
