Wow, you guys were rolling at the end of the season. Sucks about the injury to Holloway, hopefully you can get it done without him.

Chants squash Bucs in Round 1

Pack was a force down low

Conway, SC - The impact of not having Holloway was certainly felt during the first half of this Tournament opener. It is understandable since he is the team's best player, but the they were able to overcome it in the second half to advance into Round 2. Waiting for Coastal in Round 2 is 5 seed UNC Asheville.

                    Coastal hangs on

                    Asheville's shooting couldn't finish

Conway, SC - It took their first OT of the season, but Coastal Carolina was able to hang on to advance to the conference championship. With one more win, the Chants will be in the NCAA tournament and have there best player back. Asheville got themselves back into the game with great shooting in the 2nd half. Coastal's bench was to much for Asheville to handle in overtime however, and they edged out the win. The celebration will be short lived, Coastal Carolina will be facing High Point in the finals. The same Panther team that is 2-0 against the Chants this year and that was with Holloway. It should be a great conference championship.

Conway, SC - It figures. It figures that it comes to Coastal Carolina and High Point for a trip to the NCAA tournament. These two teams do not like each other one bit and it shows in there physical battles. High Point is the only team Coastal has yet to beat this season and things will not get any easier with the richest prize on the line. 69.7ppg versus 66.9ppg, #1 vs. #3, 0-2 vs. 2-0 it is setting up for a huge battle...Saturday night...ESPN2..be there.

Conway, SC - Well, this was a very magical season. High Point (most likely) closed the chapter on this season on Saturday, beating Coastal 93-80 in the conference championship. The Chants were never able to figure out the Panthers offense, being totally dominated in all 3 contests. This one stings the most however since a trip to the NCAA tournament was on the line. Coach Ellis says he is hoping for a NIT tournament bid, but lets be honest..a 9 loss Big South team is not going to get invited to any postseason tournaments. The Chants will now look to next season where they will return 4 out of 5 starters and all the bench players.
