    Cyclone Challenge - 11/9/2007
    vs. Iowa St.

    Winston-Salem St. suffered a tough defeat at the hands of the Cyclnes, 83-54. Outscored 48-22 in the first half, they were never able to make this one a game. Iowa St. used a balanced attack to dominate the Rams.

    WSS kept this game close but could not convert down the stretch and lost to UL-Calcutta 84-74. This was a 4 point game with 1 minute left, but UL hit from the foul line and WSS could get nothing from the floor.

      Winston-Salem St. started out the conference season with a loss, falling to SC St. 65-57. SC jumped out to a 38-19 halftime lead and never had to look back.

        January 1st, 2008

        The Rams from Winston-Salem St. have three open scholarships for next season.

        They have received an NLI from Bienvenu Chambliss, who is a 6'7 SF from Raleigh, NC and rated the #127 SF in the class of 2008.

        Other scholarships have been extended to Vadim Howard (6'10 C) and Bo Fitzgerald (6'1 PG).

        They will join four players Coach Cooley decided to Red Shirt when he arrived at campus. Those players are:

          Winston-Salem St. got their first conference win of the season, defeating MD-Eastern Shore 76-61. Up big at halftime, WSS was able to coast through the 2nd half behind the strong play of Darrell Wonge.

            Winston-Salem St. got began the final stretch of the season with a 74-66 conference win against Florida A&M. This win puts them at 4-4 in conference play, and gives them more wins than the 5 they had last season.
