Haha I sure hope so.. Haven't scouted SIU yet so I don't really know what I'm up against yet but I'll need Wright and Halpern to have good games for me if I want to win.“If you’re true to yourself, you’re going to be true to everyone else.”Comment

BLOWOUT IN SECOND HALF LEAVES COACH DUMBFOUNDED
12/7/12 - Carbondale, IL: "Our defense in the second half was some of the worst I've ever seen" said coach Rogers.
Late in the second half, Southern Illinois was shooting 70% from the field and 80% from 3.
"They were getting anything and everything they wanted. I don't know what my guys were doing out there but they sure didn't seem like they wanted to be playing basketball."
At halftime, the Bears were only down 5. With about 11 minutes left, they cut it to 6, which would be the closest they could get it in second half. One minute later when down 8, Southern Illinois scored, stole the inbound and kicked it out for a 3 permanently putting the game into a double digit score.
"Our offense wasn't anything to brag about either" said Rogers, "We scored 1 point between our 2 big men. Our guys were not running the offense with any intensity or purpose tonight. When you see a guy like Brett Knight for Southern Illinois, it makes you wonder why our guys can't give the effort he gave every night."
Now with the signing period over, Brown will be focused on their next opponent, UC Riverside.

One thing probably for sure Coach is that this brutal OOC schedule makes your conference schedule look like a cake walk.If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in english, thank a soldier.Comment

Re: What can Brown do for you? (CH2k8)
Yea it was a tough one to watch. And the ooc schedule is not too bad outside the Southern Illinois/WVU games. But yea those 2 games make the IVY League look like nothing“If you’re true to yourself, you’re going to be true to everyone else.”Comment

12/8/12 - Rivals.com
The In-Season Recruiting signing period has come to a close and the first thing that jumps out is all of the guards that are All-Americans this season. There are 22 guards out of the 25 who are 5*.
The ACC once again has the most 5 star recruits signed at the end of the signing period. However, 4 of the 5 signed recruits are headed to Durham, NC to be with either Coach K or Roy Williams. It seems like the ACC is starting to turn into a conference dominated by either Duke or UNC as they are currently the only two ranked teams in the conference and are snatching the top recruits. There are rumors that there are 2 more top recruits headed to the Duke/North Carolina.
John Calipari grabbed another top recruit in the #1 Power Forward in the recruiting class. "Duncan Edwin (6'7, 205 lbs) seems to be another typical Calipari player" said UK Rivals insider Will Westley, "Calipari found out about the player last season and has been recruiting him hard ever since."
This will add depth to an already top 5 Kentucky team. This would of course be assuming that player like Kidd-Gilchrist and Anthony Davis stay for their junior year.
The defending champions, Pitt, have been in a sort of rebuilding season after losing a lot of talent from their championship team. Coach Jamie Dixon can definitely build around #11 (#21 overall) point guard Roger Appleby.

So far in the Ivy League, 4 of the 8 teams have gotten Letters of Intent. The Yale Bulldogs currently have signed the best player in the recruiting class. Corey Clayton, a 6'6 SF (#475 ovr, #103), has shown a solid mid-range game and is a physical kid.
"Clayton is one of those tough kids who has a nice jumper" said Colby Rogers, head coach of the Brown Bears, "He will be able to add depth to a position that is losing 2 players."
Harvard has signed 3 players, best among them is a 6'8 big man. Not much is known about Tamal Logan but most are assuming he will be like Keith Wright.
There are rumors that Harvard will also sign a 3* point guard out of Massachusetts.
"Chad Sood was offered a scholarship by Harvard a couple of weeks ago" said Rogers, "If Sood does decide to head to Harvard, he will be able to make solid contributions right away."

The Brown Bears have been hitting the recruiting trail hard with losing 4 players, 2 being starters and 3 getting real minutes.
"The Bears have been trying to get better defense from their wings and have been trying hard to find it in this year's recruiting batch" said an IVY League insider.
Coach Rogers has given out one scholarship to Gabe Riddle, a 3* guard out of Massachusetts, and reports say he thinks that Riddle could be a great fit with the Bears.
"This is also an important year for Rogers to recruit well in the frontcourt. Not only will they be losing Halpern, but they will have practically no size next season if they do not sign anyone."
The Bears have shown a lot of interest in Joey Wheless, according to multiple reports.
"Obviously we cannot go and ask coach Rogers about specific information, but I think it is safe to say that they will be looking to get size to bring in next year."
Coach Rogers has also expressed that he would love to get a forward with a lethal mid-range game. There are rumors that if Rogers and the Bears are able to sign two big men, Robert Maia may make the transition to the power forward.
"Robert has a good mid-range game to go along with some nice size" said coach Rogers of his sophmore big man, "We [the coaches] definitely could see him becoming a power forward later on his career."
