The 2007 Final Four is set!
The Florida Gators will take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in the first game. The Gators have great depth. 4 players average double digits: Joakim Noah, Al Horford, Corey Brewer and Lee Humphrey. UNC will counter with an All-American , Marvin Williams, and JR Smith will be free to score from the wing. Sophomore Tyler Hansbrough will have to use his energy to subdue Joakim Noah of the Gators.

Ohio State will meet Texas in the other Final Four game. Lebron James caps off his illustrious college career at the Georgia Dome. The four time All-American (second team as freshman) is in the Final Four for the first time. And he is ready to end his college career on the highest note by leading a team of great Freshmen, including Mike Conley, Greg Oden & Daequan Cook. The Longhorns are led by a Freshman of their own: Kevin Durant. Like Lebron, he made the second All American team, and was third in the nation in scoring behind VMI's Reggie Williams & Wisconsin's Alando Tucker. Lamarcus Aldridge will have the tough task of guarding (and being guarded by) freshman phenom Greg Oden. Texas is the only non number one seed in the Final Four.

Florida edges UNC to take the first Championship game spot!
Florida was down by 14 with 9 minutes to play, but Joakim Noah (24 points, 9 rebounds) and Lee Humphrey (22 points, 7 assists, 4-5 3 point shooting) stepped up big in the closing minutes for the Gators. The Tar Heels had three players with 20 points or more: Marvin Williams (22 points, 6 rebounds), Tyler Hansbrough (22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, 11-11 from the field), and JR Smith (20 points, 2-6 from beyond the arc). Wayne Ellington was the fourth leading scorer, with only 5 points. The final score was 83-80.

Oden vs. Durant/Lebron vs. Durant/Oden vs. Aldridge/whatever you want to call tips off soon. A huge game for both sides. See you back here when it's over!

Ohio State beats Texas 87-78 for shot at the National Championship.
James & Aldridge scored the first 7 points for their teams. Kevin Durant had just 4 points at halftime (he finished with only 9). OSU led 21-19 midway through the first half and went on a 20-4 run (fueled by the Buckeyes' reserves), that eventually led to a 45-25 halftime lead.
OSU was up big again, 62-36 a few minutes into the second half, and Texas clawed back into the game with big play from LaMarcus Aldridge (19 points, 6 rebounds) and Mike Williams (17 points, 13 rebounds). Daniel Gibson dished out 10 assists. The Longhorns managed to get the deficit down to ten, but Thad Matta brought in Lebron James, who, in his college career has developed a knack for closing out games (he might as well wear #42, because he reminds so many of Mariano Rivera). James fed Oden (14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks. He sat out lengthy periods of time with foul trouble early in the second half) a few times then took control himself. He finished with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists, mirroring his regular season stats that won him the Wooden Award.

Ohio State will tip off against Florida in the Georgia Dome Tuesday night. Will Lebron finally win a championship? Find out right here.

            Lebron goes out in style!
A once commanding 15 point lead diminished as the second half went on, and both teams were tied at 58 with one minute remaining, In a matter of 18 second both teams had scored again, and with 25 second to play Greg Oden found Lebron James in the post for what would turn out to be the winning basket. Florida missed two shots in the final ten seconds. The Buckeyes became the National Champions with a 62-60 victory.
Joakim Noah finsihed the game as the only Gator in double figures, with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Al Horford had 6 points (the second highest on the team) and 9 rebounds. Taurean Green finished with 7 assists, and the Gators shot one three the entire game, a Walter Hodge shot from the wing that went in (Why Lee Humphrey didn't shoot at least 4 of them, I'll never know).
Lebron James finished with 21 points, 4 reboubds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Greg Oden had 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 block. Mick Conley had 6 assists, but got into foul trouble late. Matt Terwilliger was the team's leading rebounder with 6.
