A Career Within Career Legacy (CH2K8)

    Overview

Being in tenth grade when 2k8 dropped in 07, my main concern was creating myself, and playing in a career legacy using player lock. After playing this career on an off over the years, I wanted to take it a step further.

    My Steps

    1. Created a fictional coach, and set up the most fitting profile for his current roster.
    2. I didn’t do anything in management.
    3. Created my player.
    4. I recruited no one only offered scholarships to me and others recruited by the assistants.
    5. Simmed the first season, played my jr. year ABL schedule, simmed the next, and played my sr. ABL season.
    6. Signed my player and played his college career.
    7. Next I created my player in NBA 2K12, played but mostly simmed my career out. I again only controlled what a player can, used association mode.
    8. Then I retired and hired (created) my player as an assistant for the fictional coach.

So this legacy picks up after I retire early from the NBA due to leg injuries accrued from college and the NBA. 2020.

    Coach Bio

Evan Black a former VCU basketball standout will begin his first season as an USF assistant coach for his former coach Sydney Dean. Black’s responsibilities entail recruiting, scouting opponents, game preparation and on-floor coaching.

"Evan was a key asset to our success at VCU," Dean said. "As a player,
Evan was a coach on the floor. Through the years, he has developed a complete knowledge of basketball. He was an instrumental piece in my turning around VCU. I felt I couldn't turn this South Florida program around without him. His career can be a model for are guys, from his time in the ABL, college, and the NBA.

Coach Dean and Black's relationship started back in 2008." I was first spotted by coach Dean during an ABL game, he was originally there scouting my teammate and future All-American shooting guard Duane Butler. Duane and I were both four star unranked junior recruits at the time. Our team Mint Touch had plenty of talent, future Villanova center Gadi Reynolds and Maryland bound power forward Matt Heard. Duane was averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds a game and could go anywhere he wanted. I averaged about 15 points and around 9 assists, yet my recruitment that year was up and down. One week it was Nova, BC, VA and the next it was mid- major programs. Coach Dean didn't stop recruiting me, he always called or emailed. I went into my senior year as 135 overall and 32 overall amongst point guards. That ABL season I went off was third in the league in scoring at 24 points, tops in assist at 11. I went up against current NBA players and back then All-Americans Lyle Carney, Deon Atako, Tyrone Hart and the list goes on. Bottom line coach Dean saw my talent early and was there from day one, and even though before signing day I had better offers from power schools I knew I was going to VCU. Our recruits are in same situation I was in, trying to prove the ranking wrong.
Following his Wagner career, Black was a projected second round pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, but he went undrafted. That off season he signed a two year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. He showed signs of being a steady back up averaging 14 points and 6 assists, yet he was traded on draft day. Black the spent the rest of his career playing for the Phoenix Suns. His career ended early do to leg injuries.
