I'm still debating on whether or not I should do "coach mode" or actually play the games. Until then, I hope you enjoy what I have in store.

Re: The Rise of Mick Upshaw (CH2k8)
The previous year before the hiring of new up and comer Mick Upshaw the student body of North Carolina Central University (Or NCCU) witnessed the most dismal season in its program as the team went a horrendous 5-24. As such, this prompted the firing of the previous head coach (who's name I wiped from my brain in shame) and the hiring of an unknown commodity (at least as far as coaching).
This commodity's name is known as Mick Upshaw. Yes, THE Mick Upshaw. The same Mick Upshaw who led FAU to its first Sweet Sixteen ever and was taken 15th overall in the NBA draft. Unfortunately, Mick's career was cut short as he irreperably damaged both of his knees, rendering him unable to play basketball at the highest level. Now, 3 years removed from his Sweet Sixteen run Mick has returned to the basketball scene....as a coach. This'll be interesting.

Re: The Rise of Mick Upshaw (CH2k8)
As I continue to report on the hottest topic in college basketball right now I managed to secure an exclusive interview with the man in question, Mick Upshaw.
Mick Upshaw:
Me: Now, Coach Upshaw, what are your goals for this program?
Upshaw: First and foremost is to secure a bid to the NCAA tournament. This school has never been, and I want to achieve that first.
Me: How do you plan on accomplishing what is sure to be a monumental task?
Upshaw: Well, I haven't looked at the current structure of the team as of yet, but my plan coming in is to run, run, run so more, and shoot a lot of threes.
Me: Why is that?
Upshaw: Because, like most small schools who don't have a big basketball budget I doubt the former head coach was able to entice a player larger than 6'8 to come to this university. I doubt I'll be wrong.
Me: Well, that will conclude this interview. I look forward to your progress.
Upshaw: Thank you. The more exposure I can get, the more the budget will go towards recruiting and the like.Comment

Re: The Rise of Mick Upshaw (CH2k8)
Coach Mick Upshaw walked into the practice facility and saw his players up close and personal. After putting them through various workouts and drills he told them they could leave and return to their dorms. After they left, Upshaw put his head in his hands and almost wept. He had a total of 9 players. One of which was a freshman he debated on redshirting. Upshaw did NOT like how his team was looking.
PG: Emanuel Chapman (66 OVR So.)/ Justin Leemow (58 OVR Sr.)
Chapman is by far the best PG on the team, having what looks to be the best vision (88 Passing) of any PG in the conference with his. Unfortunately his lack of maturity on the court (66 OFF Awareness) leads him to attempt many flashy passes, often causing turnovers. His lack of a consistent 3 point shot (68) is troubling and his ball handling is only average, despite the fact that he loves to dribble, often causing ball movement to cease. His speed and quickness are also slightly below average (82 for both)
The only other PG on the roster, Justin Leemow, will be lucky to even see the floor. His ball handling (70) is absolutely absymal for a point guard and his vision (70 passing) is average. The only thing Justin does well is shoot the 3 ball (78) as he's our third best shooter on the team. Maybe Justin will see the floor if we can somehow convert one of our many shooting guards to small forward. MAYBE.
Edit: Getting kinda tired here so I'll edit this post with the rest of the position evaluations tomorrow.Comment
