      HE DID IT!

      Lebron holding the NBA Championship

Entering his ninth season in the NBA, LeBron James had garnered just about every accolade and trophy -- from MVPs to All-Star appearances to All-NBA bids -- a player could want. An NBA title, the one thing that eluded him, would finally be in his grasp by the end of the 2011-12 season.
A lockout of the players by the NBA's owners, which began on June 30, 2011, led to the cancellation of the entire preseason as well as hundreds of regular-season games. A resolution was finally reached on Nov. 25, ending the 149-day standoff with the season shortened to 66 games and set to begin on Christmas Day.
James, named season MVP in the midst of the playoffs, would not be denied again on the NBA's grand stage. After his Heat fell behind 2-0, he was simply dominant as Miami clamied its second-ever championship in Game 5. In the clincher, James became the fifth player in NBA history to record a triple-double in a championship-clinching game.
His ability to deliver in The Finals helped James to his first Finals MVP trophy and, later that summer, he was key as the U.S. Men's National Team won its second consecutive gold medal at the Olympics, beating Spain 107-100 in the title game.
The Orlando didn't had much success this year as the fell down to the Hawks in the first round after leading 3-1.Turkoglu got injured and the Magic scoring was lowered by 10 points per game.

        Life after Dwight Howard

        What was Orlando thinking?
Fans and media were trying to make some sense of the Dwight Howard trade from the Orlando Magic's perspective. Some of the people who were most upset? General managers who felt they had a better deal on the table for the Magic.
To be fair, it's difficult to accurately judge this deal today. In three or four years, however, the evidence will be in, and we'll know if Orlando's plan was far better than what people think of it now.
But here's something we do know: Orlando chose Jacque Vaughn to be their head coach, and he will have more impact than anyone else in Orlando over the next few years. And if he's the kind of coach the Magic hope for, then the assets acquired in this deal will end up being far more valuable than anyone currently projects.

Magic sign 20th overall pick Perry Jones

Perry Jones lll joined the Orlando Magic yesterday officially. The Magic drafted him with the 20th overall pick in this year's draft. The power forward from Baylor will be part of the rebuilding process in Orlando.

There are too much players on this position but Jones will be getting some minutes for sure as some rumors said that Al Harrington or Josh McRoberts will be traded before the season begins.

Alonzo Gee pens 3yr/18.42mil deal with the Magic

A 3rd year player from Alabama,Alonzo Gee last played for the Cavaliers where he earn a starting place after Lebron left and Cavs started rebuilding. He also played for the Wizards and the Spurs in his career.
With a 8.3ppg throughout his career Gee looks to be happy joining southeastern Florida where he'll be looking to start over "the turkish jordan" Hedo Turkoglu.

Magic adding more Cavaliers in a trade

Brazilian center Anderson Varejao who was 8 year experience only playing for the Cavaliers and Omri Casspi, who is from Israel and will be starting his 4th season in the league were traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Orlando Magic.
In a whole international players trade,Orlando sent Hedo Turkoglu and Gustavo Ayon + 2014 first round draft pick to the Cavaliers.
Orlando were in a big need of a big guy in the post and it seems like Varejao is the right man for the job.Adding a lot experience,he averages 7ppg and 7rpg in his career.
Omri Casspi will be a backup small forward giving rest to his close friend Alonzo Gee.

Magic sent Al Harrington to the Bobcats for a pick

Orlando Magic and Charlotte Bobcats agreed on a trade sending 2nd round pick from the 2014 NBA draft from Orlando and veteran power forward Al Harrington to the North Carolina in exchange of 2013 NBA 1st round Draft Pick from the Bobcats.

Varejao to miss first month of regular season

Newly acquired center,Anderson Varejao, has broken a toe on his left foot last day at practice. He fell bad after jumping for a rebound in 5-on-5 game just 2 days before season opening.
Athletic trainer Keon Weise said :
"It doesn't look very good,Anderson will miss probably the whole first month of the season. He is out for 4-6 weeks."

          Jacque Vaughn :
"It's a major blow,we're now really short on the center position.Nikola Vucevic will step in but we have no other options,so Josh[Mcroberts] will get some more time than planned for sure."

Turnovers seem to be big problem for Magic,0-1

An amazing amount of 21 in the game, the Magic were making mistakes all over the place.Point guard Jameer Nelson was out of his head going in early foul trouble just a minute and a half after the beginning of the game.He lately made 6 turnovers(5 of them bad passes) which let to easy fastbreaks for the Grizzlies in the third quarter.

The game started good for Orlando and they had a 3 point lead at the half but then came a 14-0 run for Memphis at the start of the third.Grizzlies outscored Orlando 35 to 14 in that quarter and held the lead throughout the whole 4th quarter and won by 12 finally.
Jerryd Bayless was the "X-Factor" he was unstoppable in the third scoring 15 of his 22.
Newcomers Casspi and Gee looked good for Orlando scoring some points in the game today.
Orlando should be looking to decrease the amount of turnovers,21 is too much for a NBA squad and that is what lose their game.Jameer Nelson looked really unfit today,he was slow,he was late with the decisions and veteran Duhon had to step up sometimes.
Orlando will go to Boston next to visit Rondo and the Celtics and after that they'll open against Miami in their first home game for the season.

Orlando not looking good as Boston won their first

Just two days after losing in Memphis,Orlando visited Boston. The Celtics who added spanish center Marc Gasol in the offseason will be looking to win another ring for their "big four" and the franchise as a whole.Despite a surprising loss in the first game against the Hawks in Atlanta after a Devin Harris buzzer-beater in the end of the game,Boston were motivated to go in front of their fans and win this one.
Yes,but Orlando are a up-and-down team this year,it seems. They had an amazing 5-7 from the 3pt line in the first half and 4 of these coming in the 2nd quarter. As it was in Memphis, the Magic led at HT but then it came the 3rd.

34-17,34-17 in the third for the C's and Orlando cannot get back.Too many turnovers, they had 18 which is an "improvement"(19 in the first game).Good thing is that they can really block shots.Perry Jones and Alonzo Gee were like a wall between Paul Pierce and the net sometimes(despite Pierce scoring 24).Both had 4 blocks each.

Jameer Nelson had his moments tonight,he dished it to Vucevic 3 or 4 times for the easy dunk. But he is 4-14 and 0-3 from 3pt.Looks like he's going down without his fella Dwight.

Just one day after this tough loss,Orlando will be playing at home for the first time. The champs and their superstar trio is coming to town, the Heat versus the Magic.

Wade drops 31,Magic having problems on the board

The game starts and the Magic just scored 8 unanswered,Lebron is sitting on the bench with two fouls and the Heat have 3 turnovers. It is just a minute and a half after the game started. And this 90 seconds were the only bright spark in today's game for Orlando, not including Nikola Vucevic's performance who scored a career-high 22 points.
Dwyane Wade was all over the place in the first scoring 15 of his 31.Heat had success on a fast comeback, they took the lead in the 4th minute of the game and the fans knew it was over.
Lebron got back on court and things started to pop easy for Miami. He was pretty good for Orlando.
Miami totally outrebounded Orlando,39 to 23.Big Baby Glen Davis was awful today with only 3 points and 4 rebounds and he played 32 minutes.Nikola Vucevic impressed the people with his 22 points but he got only 3 rebounds. So both big guys for Orlando had played 62 minutes combined and they grabbed 7 rebounds ?!
Udonis Haslem got 7 in 14 minutes. The Magic have so much need of Anderson Varejao right now but he isn't coming back soon.

                      Re: A Magical Rebuilding | 2k11

so this is how i'll be doing it. I played three games so I decide now to simulate some. Then again play 3 or 4 more and add game recaps like I did and then again simulate.

Orlando Magic : 4-6,12th in the conference

It is getting interesting right now,we're three weeks into the NBA regular season and some interesting things are happening.

At first the Orlando Magic had a very slow start of their "NO DWIGHT ERA" with three straight losses from Memphis,Boston and Miami. They won for the first time in their game in Cleveland against Kyrie Irving and the Cavs. The Magic loss another two games after this win.

It was the 7th of november and the Magic fans were starting to come to the Amway Center because the Lakers were coming to town.Lakers, with their new superstar - former Orlando center Dwight Howard, were struggling at that time. The fans of Orlando wanted to make it hard for Dwight in the Amway and they were booing him all the way.
There was this guy who was arrested because he threw a bottle to Dwight while he was doing some pre-game stuff.

The guy was interviewed.. "..urgh..i hate this fuc**n big guy,Dwight is a little b**ch..what,your asking me if I am sorry for throwing a bottle at him ? yes,I am...I am sorry that I missed the shot..just like he can't score a fuc*in free throw.."

It was a nice start for both Knicks and Spurs who are leading the conferences and the Knicks really look like they can do something this year.
Miami had lose just once and it is because of the total dominance of the King and Co. Miami are on the trip of winning multiple champs and they can do it,we know they can.

Kevin Durant is leading the scorers again but the Thunder don't seem that scary. They lose 5 already and they sit at the 6th place in the conference.
More worrying is what is happening with the LA teams, and the Lakers mostly.Dwight,Gasol,Kobe and Nash..and they just won 2 out of 8.This guys had a lot of thinking to do and they must do it now,it's still to early.

Timberwolves make easy work of Magic

Four team turnovers for the whole game is a new NBA record for the fewest turnovers in a game. The Wolves were just perfect this night.
As a comparison,Arron Afflalo had 5 tonight.A very good start for Minnesota based on the perfect shooting of Brandon Roy led them to a 17-4 start. But with trio of three pointers made by Redick and Jameer Nelson, the Magic completed a fast comeback. They wouldn't want to lose the game in the first half.

The fourth was crucial for Orlando. They started to throw bad passes and Williams&Roy were there to score for the Wolves. They combined for 43 points and led the Wolves to their 5th win of the season.

Nikola Vucevic was the only bright spot in Magic's team,he had another great game with 17points,17rebounds and 4 blocks.Looks like Dwight isn't much of a missing piece, but can Jameer and the other guys step up ?

Magic freeing cap space, trade with the Wolves

The Orlando Magic and the Minnesota Timberwolves agreed on a trade.Brad Miller who has expiring 5mil contract will play in Orlando. The Wolves also gave a first round draft pick from this year's draft so Orlando have 3 now.

The Orlando Magic gave away their starting power forward "Big Baby" Glen Davis he has 3yr contract and Minnesota should pay him around 6 millions per year.

Brad Miller will probably be free to let go after the season ends.He is even thinking of retiring at this stage.
