2015 NBA PLayoffs
EASTERN CONFERENCE 1st Round Review
(1) Cleveland Cavaliers (60-22)Cleveland Cavaliers Depth Chart - 2014/15 STARTER 2ND 3RD 4TH PG Kyrie Irving (90) Trey Burke (71) SG Shabazz Muhammad (87) Ronnie Brewer (71) Tony Allen (69) SF LeBron James (99) Tony Allen (69) Solomon Hill (63) PF Tristan Thompson (79) Jonas Jerebko (74) Renaldo Balkman (63) C Anderson Varejao (73) Tyson Chandler(75) Rambo Hightower* (66)

- Cavaliers dominate the Heat, sweeping the Series and winning each game by an average of 27 points... The closest Miami came to winning a game was Game 2, when DWade went off for 39 points, other than that, every game was basically over by half time... LeBron, Kyrie and the Cavaliers will have awhile to rest as it looks like the Wizards and Bucks

- Brandon Jennings averaged 32.3 points per game in this Series, nearly 5 points more then his regular Season average and he is the key reason why the Bucks are moving on and the Wizards are going home... In the end, the Bucks were just too deep and too tough for John Wall and Bradley Beal to overcome... Wall went off, in Game 3 with his teams' back against the Wall (no pun) down 2-0 as he poured in 46 points to get his team back into the series... Looking back on the series, it could have easily gone the other way, with the Wizards coming out on top, but, Brandon Jennings and Danny Granger were juts too tough... Cavs vs Bucks in round two, should be a great matchup...
Game 1** - Bucks win 97-94 (1-0)
- Ersan Ilyasova 24 points - 7 reb
- Brandon Jennings - 30 points - 6 reb - 8 ast
Game 2** - Bucks win 118-101 (2-0)

- This series lived up to all the hype that was talked about before Game 1... Two huge market teams, super stars on both teams and two teams that played pretty well during the regular Season... All that being said, when it all came down to it, the team with "the best" player on the floor won the series... Derrick Rose was every bit the MVP he was a few years back in this series and he carried the Bulls during the Series... The addition of SG Jordan Crawford really helped as he was able to get his own shot when needed and he and Rose were the difference in the series...
Game 1** - Bulls win 123-88 (1-0)

- The Raptors played better than most people thought the would in this series, and the team showed that they could have a bright future ahead of them... With players lik Kyle Lowry and Demar Derozan the team should improve in the coming years... Right now however, they were just overmatched by a very talented and very deep 76er team... Philly moves on to play the Bulls in the 2nd round, and that series should be a heavy-weight fight...
Game 1** - Raptors win 101-94 (1-0)

- Of all the series' in the 1st round of the Western Playoffs, you probably wouldn't have thought the (1) vs (8) seed would be the only series to go more than 5 games, well, that is exactly what happened in this Series between the Defending Champion OKC Thunder and the veteran savy San Antonio Spurs... The Thunder, on paper should have ran away with this series, they are younger, more athletic, and well, just flat out better than the Spurs at this point... However, you can't underestimate the heart of a champion and the Spurs showed guts in this series taking the Champs all the way to Game 7 before they finally ran out of gas... When they look back on it, the Spurs will be kicking themselves as they've got to feel like they let this one get away, with a 3-2 series lead heading back to San Antonio for Game 6, they had the Thunder's backs fully against the wall... For whatever reason, the Spurs just weren't able to seal the deal, OKC won Game 6, and then Game 7 back home in OKC... This could very well be the last time we see this legendary group of Spurs (Parker, Ginobili, Duncan) on the floor together... If that is in fact the case, it has been a hell of a run...

5. Jazz (48-34)
Matchup PreviewUtah Jazz Depth Chart - 2014/15 STARTER 2ND 3RD 4TH PG Eric Bledsoe (75) Mo Williams (74) SG Gordon Heyward (80) Alec Burks (75) Aaron Tyson (62) SF DeShaun Thomas (76) Quentin Richardson (64) Jamario Moon (62) PF Derrick Favors (87) Jeremy Evans (62) C Al Jefferson (84) Enes Kanter (73)
- The upstart Utah Jazz ran into a buzz saw in this series, after a convincing win in Game 1, that seemed to wake up the sleeping giant, the Jazz lost games 2,3,4 and 5 by an average of 17.5 points... Kobe Bryant played very non aggressive, which is surprising considering Kobe's track record... With players like Dwight Howard and Roger Fox on the floor with him though, you can't blame him for dishing out a ton of assists in this series, 9.5 per game to be exact... The Jazz's future is bright, with Derrick Favors, Al Jefferson, Eric Bledsue and DeShaun Thomas they will be back, but, right now it just wasn't their time... Lakers win and move on to the 2nd round where they will take on the Defending Champion OKC Thunder...
Game 1 - Jazz win 109-78 (1-0)
- Al Jefferson - 22 points - 12 reb
- Kobe Bryant - 22 points - 3 reb - 11 ast
Game 2 - Lakers win 115-80 (1-1)

- Much like the Lakers / Jazz series, the underdog was able to win Game 1 of this one, and then the favorite took over from there to win the series in 5 games... This series was much more competitive than the Lakers / Jazz series however, as 3 games were decided by 1, 2, and 2 points... The Rockets could have just as easily won this series 4-1 rather than losing it 4-1... James Harden did everything he could but the dominating big men of New Orleans Anthony Davis and Nerlens Noel were just too much for the Rockets to overcome... Houston didn't have an answer for either big man all series long...
Game 1 - Rockets win 110-109 (1-0)
- Jeremy Lin - 42 points - 4 reb - 8 ast
- James Harden - 26 points - 9 ast
- Anthony Davis - 19 points - 12 reb - 3 stl - 4 blk

Game 3 - Hornets win 102-100 (2-1)
- Nerlens Noel - 30 points - 12 reb - 4 ast
- Anthony Davis - 23 points - 11 reb
- James Harden - 31 points - 6 reb - 4 ast

- We knew coming into this series that Defense would be optional and that turned out to be exactly right... The Nuggets won the series rather easily and they averaged 118 points per game, and a ridiculous 123 points per game in their 4 victories... The Warriors did their fair share of scoring as well, but, they simply couldn't keep up with the high flying Nuggets of Denver... The Nuggets team is so deep, and so versitile they can really play two different sets of Starting 5's if they so choose... This team is deep and they can all score the ball and run the break... 8 seconds or less is their moto, and to this point, its been working like a charm as nobody seems to be able to keep up with them... We'll see how they do vs a New Orleans team that likes to slow the pace down, and force you into a half court game... If the Hornets can slow it down, and allow Davis and Noel to get set up on the Defensive end, I think the Nuggets might struggle... We'll see what happens...
Game 1 - Nuggets win 135-101 (1-0)
- Ty Lawson - 29 points - 4 reb - 9 ast - 3 stl
- Harrison Barnes - 30 points - 3 reb - 4 ast
Game 2 - Nuggets win 113-86 (2-0)
- Javale McGee - 25 points - 14 reb - 2 blk
- Anthony Randolph - 14 points - 15 reb
Game 3 - Nuggets win 116-96 (3-0)
- Danilo Gallinari - 29 points - 5 reb
- Ty Lawson - 10 points - 5 reb - 16 ast - 4 stl
- Stephen Curry - 25 points - 4 reb - 8 ast - 2 stl
Game 4 - Warriors win 120-95 (3-1)
- Stephen Curry - 29 points - 4 reb - 12 ast
- Klay Thompson - 28 points - 7 reb - 5 ast
- Javale McGee - 20 points - 7 reb - 2 blk

Key Matchup
Brandon Jennings vs Kyrie Irving
- Brandon Jennings finished 2nd in the league in scoring, averaging 27.7 points per game, 5th in assists per game with 8.8 per game and he finished 5th in League MVP Voting... Kyrie Irving didn't have numbers as good as those, 22.6 points and 7.8 assists per game, mainly due to the fact that Kyrie wasn't asked to do as much as Jennings... This matchup should be a great one as both players can fill it up from all over the floor... Neither player plays what you would call "great" defense, and at times, its down right "bad" but, their ability to score is unquestioned...

Key Matchup
Derrick Rose vs Jrue Holiday
- Jrue Holiday has become a star in this league over the last few Seasons... He's averaging nearly 20 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds per game over the last 3+ Seasons... His Offense and understanding of the game has greatly improved and his Defense is starting to finally catch up as well... His Defensive abilities will be tested to the fullest against Derrick Rose in this series... Rose is one of, if not THE most explosive Point Guard in the NBA and he's a tough test for anyone, not just Holiday... Jrue Holiday has the advantage of getting some help from Evan Turner, who's longer and just as quick to help slow down Rose, and also Andrew Bynum lurking in the paint should Rose break down the first level of Defense... This is going to be a heavy-weight fight between two teams that could easily represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals...

- Kobe Bryant is without a doubt past his prime, but, judging by how he played in the 1st round, averaging close to 23 points per game and dishing out nearly 10 assists per game... Kevin Durant is expected to be covering Kobe for most of the time during the series, and, on Paper, that doesn't bode well for Bryant... However, we all know what happens to Kobe when the Playoffs come around, he usually steps his game up and rises to the occasion... We're not sure yet if Kobe is going to cover Durant, but, if he is I think that matchup is a big advantage for the Thunder... Durant is coming off his 4th scoring title in 5 years, and hasn't slowed down at all in the Playoffs, as he averaged 29+ points per game vs the Spurs in their 7 game 1st round matchup...
Russell Westbrook vs Tayshon Taylor
- This matchup is completely lopsided in the Thunder's favor... Russell Westbrook, one of the most dynamic scoring point guards in the NBA vs a 2nd year Point Guard from the Lakers Tayshon Taylor... The Lakers are going to have to figure out some sort of scheme to try and defend Westbrook because he's going to destroy Taylor if they don't...

Key Matchup
Ty Lawson vs Austin Rivers
- There are many great matchup between these two teams, but the key to the entire series could be the matchup at the point guard positio... Young Austin Rivers has developed into a very solid Point Guard in the league however, Ty Lawson has taken his game to another level these past few years and he is the straw that stirs the Denver Offense... He can score, he can pass, and he can play good defense... Rivers is going to have to slow him down if the Hornets are going to win this series... Rivers has the benefit of having two amazing rim protectors in Nerlen Noel and Defensive Player of the Year Anthony Davis behind him, if and when Lawson get by him...

Are you a Celtic fan? (saw your avatar)... What do you think about the Celtics? Rondo is up this year, should they resign him or sign and trade him?
Thanks againComment

Re: 2k13 Cleveland Cavaliers - Rise up and Rebuild
Yeah, die-hard Celtics fan. I feel like at this point in time, they should be building around Rondo, Bradley and Jeff Green but they also got Derrick Williams so I think that they should try to keep that core together and try to sign a big name free agent or get a few veterans to help develop that young talent.Comment

**Game 3** - Bucks win 122-114 (2-1)
- Brandon Jennings - 49 points - 4 reb - 8 ast
- Danny Granger - 23 points - 4 reb - 4 ast
- LeBron James - 36 points - 12 reb - 11 ast - 7 TO
- Kyrie Irving - 21 points - 4 reb - 11 ast - 5 TO
**Game 4** - Cavs win 109-92 (3-1)
- Kyrie Irving - 34 points - 2 reb - 12 ast - 16 points in 4th qrt
- LeBron James - 31 points - 8 reb - 6 ast - 3 stl
- Brandon Jennings - 29 points - 4 reb - 7 ast - 2 stl - 9 points in 2nd half (LBJ Defense)
**Game 5** - Cavs win 104-97 (4-1)
- LeBron James - 35 points - 11 reb - 9 ast
- Kyrie Irving - 21 points - 5 reb - 10 ast - 3 stl
- Danny Granger - 37 points - 3 reb - 5 stl
- Brandon Jennings - 15 points - 6 reb - 6 ast - 5/23 fg - 2/7 3pt
- We said before the Series started that the Matchup at the Point Guard Position, between Brandon Jennings and Kyrie Irving would be the determining factor, and it was a big factor, but, overall the more talented team won the series... Kyrie Irving only scored 30 points or more in 1 game during the Series, while Brandon Jennings was over 29 in 3 of the 5 games, but it was Irving's consistency that was the difference in his matchup with Jennings... Jennings exploded in Games 2 and 3 with back to back 40 point games, but Irving was steady all series long and helped lead his team to victory... LeBron James was the player of the series, nearly averaging a triple double in the 5 games... He's playing even better than his MVP Regular Season and heading into the Eastern Conference Finals, the Cavaliers are going to need James to be at his very best...

(2) 76ers (49-33)
vs
(3) Bulls (46-36)
Series Results
**Game 1** - 76ers win 112-92 (1-)
- Thadeus Young - 26 points - 3 reb
- Jrue Holiday - 19 points - 7 reb - 8 ast - 3 stl
- Derrick Rose - 30 points - 4 ast
**Game 2** - 76ers win 97-95 (2-0)
- Andrew Bynum - 26 points - 10 reb - 4 ast
- Derrick Rose - 31 points - 10 reb - 6 ast - 2 stl
**Game 3** - 76ers win 97-74 (3-0)
- Jrue Holiday 24 points - 7 reb - 7 ast
- Andrew Bynum 19 points - 11 reb
- Derrick Rose - 20 points - 5 reb - 6 ast - 3 stl
**Game 4** - 76ers win 85-74 (4-0)
- Anrew Bynum - 22 points - 10 reb - 3 blk
- Thadeus Young - 18 points - 10 reb
- Jrue Holiday - 11 points - 6 reb - 9 ast - 2 stl
- Derrick Rose - 13 points - 3 reb - 7 ast - 6/15 fg - 0/3 3pt
- I have to admit, I'm a little surprised by how this Series played out, I'm not sure if the results were so lopsided because of the Sixers great Defense, or, the Bulls bad Offense, whatever the reason, the Sixers swept the Bulls and weren't really challenged outside of a 2 point win in Game 2... Chicago only averaged 84 points per game in the 4 game series, which is surprising considering they have Derrick Rose who usually puts in 25 to 30 by himself... The Sixers will move on to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals...

- Kevin Durant - 23 points - 3 reb - 5 ast - 9/14 fg
- Russell Westbrook - 18 points - 2 reb - 13 ast - 5 stl - 8/22 fg
- Kobe Bryant played like the Kobe of old, averaging nearly 30 points per game in the Series and playing great Defense on Kevin Durant... Kobe was the deciding factor in the series and with him, Roger Fox, and Dwight Howard, the Lakers are playing better then ever... If this is Kobe's "last ride" and he keeps playing like this, its looking like he might have a chance to bring home his 7th NBA Championship

**Game 6** Nuggets win 98-88 (4-2)

- Austin Rivers - 16 points - 4 reb - 1 ast
- Nerlens Noel - 21 points - 9 reb - 3 stl - 2 blk
- Anthony Davis - 10 points - 5 reb
- The young Hornets had a great run, and they without question have a great future ahead of them, but, in this Series the uptempo Nuggets just wore them down... Ty Lawson averaged a double double in the series, 20 points and 11.1 assists per game... In the end the Nuggets were just too deep for the young Hornets and outside of Anthony Davis and Nerlens Noel, they couldn't get much help from the rest of the team...
