The Legacy of Coach Pitino, Part Two

Richard Pitino accepts Head Coaching job at Lipscomb

Nashville- Normally, when you hear the last name Pitino, you think of the coach for the Louisville Cardinals, who recently made a Cinderella run to the Final Four. Sitting right next to Pitino, was his son Richard Pitino who plays, well played, a major part in recruiting the big names for Louisville like Wayne Blackshear and Chane Behannan.

Lipscomb is coming off a losing 2011-2012 season, winning 13 games and losing eighteen. Phillip Hutchenson, the athletic director for the Bisons, felt that the program was heading in a downward spiral and needed to find a young replacement for Scott Sanderson.

Richard says "I was receiving calls from F.I.U. and I was almost ready to take that job, but when they (Lipscomb) called I had to say yes. It was best for my family and my career.".

Richard hopes to turn the program around and has many set goals for himself and the program. One of which is to lead Lipscomb to a win over his father's team.

No players have commented on the coaching change.

Some dates are messed up because I couldn't decide between 2012-2013 or 2007-2008.
