    Bubble Watch

    Team: Fairfield Stags
    Record: 23-8
    MAAC Record: 14-4
    Last 10: 6-4
    vs Top 25: 0-0
    Road/Neutral: 12-6
    Home Streak: 2 games
    RPI 1-50: 0-0
    RPI 51-100: 1-1
    RPI 101-200: 6-1
    RPI 200+: 16-6
    RPI: 73

Our say: Once again, Fairfield failed to secure any marquee wins, and that should come back to hurt them on Selection Sunday. Coach Beilein will need to schedule a more difficult non-conference slate or actually win the MAAC tournament to make the Big Dance in the future.

                Fairfield Recruiting

                Name: Brennon Barlow
                Position: SG
                Height: 6'5
                Weight: 197
                Hometown: Paterson, NJ
                Ranking: 3 Star OVR 177 POS 44
Notes: Long-limbed slasher that excels at attacking the basket. Read all Harry Potter books in one summer. Played multiple positions in high school, and may play some PG at Fairfield. Played JV as a junior and is a late bloomer. Originally recruited for quidditch before changing to basketball.

                Name: Bryan Sampson
                Position: C
                Height: 6'11
                Weight: 242
                Hometown: Staten Island, NY
                Ranking: 2 star OVR 494 POS 37
Notes: Big body with nimble feet. Grew two feet as a sophomore in high school. Shows touch around the rim but needs to improve his jump shot. Has the ability to be a defensive intimidator that protects the paint. It would be awesome if he grew another two feet.

                  Offseason Rumor Mill

After posting back-to-back 20 win seasons, Coach Beilein is rumored to be wanted by several programs around the nation. Let's see where Coach Beilein could end up.

Each team promised the world to Coach Beilein. Fordham, Nevada, or Southern Illinois would each present Coach Beilein with a new challenge.

In the end, Patrick Beilein made his decision. Next season, Coach Beilein will be coaching...

Well I guess he won't be coaching next year.

Just kidding, Coach Beilein made the decision to remain at Fairfield. He still has goals to accomplish in Connecticut, like win the MAAC Tournament and make the NCAA Tournament.

Fairfield University Season 3 Roster Breakdown

                          BACKCOURT
                          0 SG Brennon Barlow FR 6-5 197 69 OVR
                          1 SG Devin Johnson SR 6-7 187 64 OVR
                          33 SG Rob Sisca SR 6-5 196 68 OVR
                          11 PG Lyndon Jordan JR 6-3 189 65 OVR

Brennan Barlow has a chance to be a great player here at Fairfield. He's a combo guard type guy that can slot into either guard spot. Devin Johnson has great length and is the most explosive athlete on the team. Rob Sisca is a fantastic spot up shooter, but is still working on other parts of his game. Lyndon Jordan has proven his worth coming off the bench as the only true point guard on the team.

                          FRONTCOURT

                          4 SF Yorel Hawkins JR 6-6 192 70 OVR
                          22 SF Jason Kyle JR 6-9 218 67 OVR
                          20 SF Sean Grzeck JR 6-8 195 63 OVR
                          25 PF Deki Joneliunas SO 6-10 252 70 OVR
52 PF Jamont Traore FR 6-8 230 68 OVR (Walk On)
                          41 PF Mike Evanovich rSR 6-10 227 63 OVR
                          51 PF Vaidotas Ritter rFR 6-11 254 49 OVR

Yorel Hawkins is capable of playing any position on the floor. He does everything well and really only needs to work on his jump shot. Jason Kyle is a proven 3 point specialist. His favorite spot is the right wing. Sean Grzeck has had some injury problems this offseason and we hope to see him get better. Deki Joneliunas played well as a freshman. His biggest asset is his ability to score the basketball. Jamont Traore was the surprise of training camp. He is a walk on that simply hustles all over the floor. Mike Evanovich has really improved his skills since Coach Beilein arrived. The best thing about Vaidotas Ritter is that he speaks Lithuanian so we know what Deki is saying.

                          PIVOT
                          44 C Greg Nero SR 6-7 219 69 OVR
                          32 C Anthony Johnson SR 6-8 242 69 OVR
                          40 C Bryan Sampson FR 6-11 244 67 OVR
                          42 C DeAngelo Dudley SO 7-1 273 55 OVR

We are very deep at the center position this year. Greg Nero can actually play the 5 for us because he is very quick on the pick and roll and can play the bottom of the 1-3-1. Anthony Johnson doesn't excel very much in the post, he'd much rather be out and running the floor. Bryan Sampson is a big body that could give us a real post up presence that we haven't had at Fairfield since Coach Beilein got here. DeAngelo Dudley is good for 5 fouls per game.
