The 30 Team Fantasy Draft Association

Hey everyone, do to the loss of my spreadsheet file from my last 30 Team Fantasy Draft Association, and an unexpected break while I was starting it, I decided to restart the whole the because I wasn't far into it at all. So here is the basic settings:

    Everything On
    Sim-World Rosters
    Sim-World and CWSapp/Dreece Fiction DCs
    Sim-World Sliders

Being the second time now, I want to make the draft process slower and with a little more community input, so I will post the order and a early first and second round mock draft, and gather some feedback before actually doing the draft. Then I will proceed with the third through fifth rounds with a mock, and ask for feedback. The same will go for rounds six through eight, and I will simulate the last four rounds!

    Order
    1. Bobcats
    2. Pistons
    3. Magic
    4. Grizzlies
    5. Rockets
    6. Thunder
    7. Warriors
    8. Wizards
    9. Spurs
    10. Timberwolves
    11. Clippers
    12. Bulls
    13. Nuggets
    14. Hawks
    15. Suns
    16. Hornets
    17. Kings
    18. Knicks
    19. Mavericks
    20. Jazz
    21. Heat
    22. 76ers
    23. Celtics
    24. Raptors
    25. Pacers
    26. Bucks
    27. Nets
    28. Cavaliers
    29. Lakers
    30. Trail Blazers

Yeah, I'd say that's fair. Curry has proven he's a better shooter than Wall, and while I think Wall might become a better passer, he hasn't shown he can A) stay healthy and B) play to his full potential. Wall has a higher ceiling than Curry, but right now Curry is better.

And trust me, I watch Curry play every night, and he's the greatest shooter I've ever seen. Period. I've never seen someone who can shoot the ball like he can.

I'll second the vote for Curry over Wall. Curry is indeed a lights out shooter and could launch himself into greatest shooter of all time (the Ray Allen/Reggie Miller area). Is Curry better than Holiday? I'm torn. I really like Holiday's game but it's limited offensively in comparison to Curry. Holiday is more two guard anyway.

As for the rest of the draft, my thoughts.

I don't see the Bobcats picking Lebron#1. Yes, he's the best player right now but the Bobcats would be looking to secure a long term future star at that number 1 spot. I think KD is the pick here.

The Pistons would be in the same boat-looking for that long term star, as would the Magic, Twolves, and Wizards.

I could see Lebron hitting the Rockets, Warriors, Spurs, or Grizzlies.

Irving would go in the top 3 to me (so the Pistons or Magic). He's got superstar potential and the dude can win games by himself.

Lilliard, Paul George, D-Cousins, Monroe, Holiday, and Lopez likely don't make it out of the top 20, though I understand some franchises (like the Knicks) value marketing/star power over long term investment. You'll have to take each Franchises history into account when you draft here.

I'm surprised you don't have D12 in the first round ... he's still the best center out there (Bynum is injury prone, Lopez doesn't rebound consistently). I think Marc Gasol doesn't get drafted in the first round, Rudy Gay is overvalued in the game (he's not his rating), and so is Ellis. I'd sub out Ellis for Jennings (his younger backcourt counterpart), and Gasol can get subbed out for Harrison Barnes/MKG.

            My thoughts.
            Any comments are welcome.

Agreed. I had the move first because of Wall's ceiling being higher.

Nice to see you reading this trek!

                My thoughts on your comments:

I believe Jrue is a point. He has proven his ability to run the team this year form that position. I see your justified position of Lebron falling, but (and trust me i'm not the biggest lebron fan) I have to credit him as the best players, and he is only 28, so the only thing I can think is switching KD35 with Lebron, but Lebron would definitely be drafted second if that was the case.

Also, I will look into your thoughts of the middle of the first.

Next, Dwight is pick number 3, I proposed the question, though, would the Magic take him? I agree with your stand on Rudy Gay, but using sim-world rosters, i also took into account how they perform in the game.

For starters, D-12 is in the first round. He's #3 overall. And on the note of centers, I agree that Gasol is overvalued, though I would swap him out with someone like Horford than Barnes/MKG.

On another note, I disagree with your LeBron/bobcats statement. Remember, this is a fantasy draft, so what says the Bobcats will end up being a rebuilding team when all is said and done? I think no matter what you go LeBron #1. We could see the Heat rebuilding and the 'Cats winning the title, who knows.

Completely missed D12, LOL, it's been a long day. Okay, so with that in mind, yeah, he belongs up there.

Bobcats could take Lebron, but I like KD there.

As for the Magic taking D12 ... No. I see Orlando taking anyone else there. Like K-Love, Russel, Harden, ect. D12 burned Orlando, bad blood there.

The Bulls draft strategy seems wonky. Taking Asik before McGee and Gortat?

Players like Kaman and Gerald Wallace are past their prime and shouldn't be in the first three rounds. Neither are worth the spots there that youth can be selected in.

                            My thoughts.
                            Any comments are welcome.

Agreed I look into it. I didn't see Javale Mcgee because he was listed as a PF on these rosters, and as for Gortat, Asik is younger so that's why he's before Gortat.
