Cold As Ice: The Tony Winter Story
      February 8th, 2013

Me and LeAnna had a great time on our date last week, and we have already gone on a second. I'm a tad worried, though, that our personal relationship will begin to interfere with our business relationship, after all, I AM her employer. Regardless, I'm really interested in her, and I've wanted more than to just be 'her boss' since I got the job and realized we would be spending so much time together. I think I will look past that, and ask her out in a third date though.

"Hey, Mark." I said, somewhat questioningly.

      "Yeah, Tony?"

"Would it be wrong of me to get in a relationship with an employee, hypothetically?"

"Your talking about LeAnna aren't you?"

      "Yeah."

"Look, you may never have specifically told me, but I knew you had feelings for the girl since i saw you too together, and I also know about your nights out with her."

      "You do?"

"Of course I do you nitwit, I was a college professor, I know how young people interact when they're feeling different emotions, from hate and anger to love and affection. I think you should go for it, you and her would make it work, and its different with a secretary, you are already spending more time with her than anyone else, and she knows pretty much everything about you. If you think its best, then why not?"

"I'm glad you support me on this Mark."

We continued to talk Basketball for what seemed like no time at all, but I look out my window and its already dark.

"Its getting late, is there anything you want to talk about?"

"No, I think we covered all our bases."

"Ok, can you look into potential Head Coaches on the Market?"

      "I've done so before--"

"Shocking." I said sarcastically, and we burst out laughing.

"Anyway, I have, and there aren't any options out there of worth, we should stick it out with drew. Besides, he has begun to turn it around, we are on a little hot streak, 3-1 to start the month and just one game under .500 after the Hornets game this afternoon."

"Speaking of the Hornets, rumors are spreading that Monty Williams may be fired, I think his defense-first mentality would be a good change of pace."

      "Nothings official yet, calm down."

"Alright, well I guess we're done then. You can go."

      "Ok."

"Oh, and send in LeAnna when you go ok."

With a wink he said, "OK."

LeAnna walked in, looking beautiful as ever.

      "Did you need me, Tony?'

"Yeah. I was thinking, we've already gone out a couple times now..."

      "Yeah, and?"

"And... I was... uhh, thinking, I really enjoyed our nights out, and I would like to go out again."

      "Okay, why not?"

"Well, I mean, we'll have been going out for a week now, almost ten days, and I wasn't sure if you thought that would, uhh, make our relationship, I dunno, MORE than professional?"

      "Do you think that?"

God I hate this, I'm such a nerd, an athletic one, but a nerd, just like always, I thought. "Well, yeah. Yeah. I do. I think I would like to make our relationship more than professional."

"Then sure, if we feel the same way then why not."

      "Great."

      "Great."

She walk up closer to me, and whispered in my ear, "Good night, baby..." In the most seductive way. then she gave me a little kiss on the cheek, and walked out.

Did that just happen? Whatever, I never knew she was so sedutive, and I never thought the words 'good night baby would ever turn me on like that.

      She is perfect for me.

Well, I packed my things in a hurry, and went home, still distracted by the evenings' occurrences.

Thats when I got the Phone call.

      "Hello?"

"Hello." A dark voice said on the other line

      "Who is this?"

"That isn't important, I just need you to know that I know where you live, where you work, and who matters most to you."

LeAnna..."OK, creepy, but OK. What do you want?"

      "Information."

      "What Information?"

"I need to know when everyone will be out of the Management Building for The Hawks..."

      "And why is this?"

"If I told you, I would have to kill you."

      "What if I don't say?"

"Then you will never see LeAnna again."

      Poll Time
Should Tony volunteer the Information to the Mysterious Man?
      Yes; LeAnna Means that much
No; The team should come first, and this could endanger the whole organization.

Team first, no info from Tony. He has to protect LeAnna as well, but she is replaceable.

No; the team should come first. Also the whole LeAnna thing could not pan out for whatever reason, leaving Tony jobless(more than likely) and heart-broken(again, more than likely) and unless that's how you intend to end to storyline, I definitely think, NO.

Three for all, Tony must protect the team. It may seem Cold (title reference, look ma!) but the dude barely knows her really.

As a GM Tony has to put the team first no matter how crazy about her he is.

Clearly, I can see what you guys want Tony to do, And I guess the cold as ice name will then be fitting, then. Well, I mean if he cant go clutch mode and save both(yeah, as if!). I sort of feel the same way. I wanted an opinion, because I feel like I really get into character as I right these posts sometimes, I mean like I can feel the emotions I am conveying Tony to feel, as sappy as it sounds, I almost felt genuinely concerned for LeAnna, and torn as to whether or not I should give the Information up or not. And as to not knowing her, by the nature if there work they have spent almost every waking minute together as them working so closely, and although we skipped a lot of storyline, but youre supposed to assume that there affection has gradually grown throughout the season. I will probably leave you hanging one more post though, as to how he will try to save his dream-girl, because I'm gonna have a season update first. I feel this is a BASKETBALL dynasty, so, as such, I will give you some basketball next, so expect another take flight post by Michael Aviani (just wondering if anyone noticed the joke in the name about michael aviani, and the hawks being the team he reports) as well as maybe a national article too. My point being, you will get many angles on the on court season.

                      Mid-Season Review: Climbing Back

                      By Michael Aviani
                      February 8th, 2013

The Hawks, have been on a tear as of late, 3-1 in the month of February, and they've 7 of their last 10 games. Now, just one game under .500, they have soared back into the playoff hunt, currently one game back from the 8th seeded Bucks, who are 25-24 to our 24-25 record. We gave been playing excellent basketball, and are still tops in the league in offensive production, which has compensated for our putrid defense enough to keep us in the hunt thus far. If we want to contend come playoff time, we will need to up the ante on defense, offensive rebounding, and discipline, being that we have turned the ball over fourth most in the league this year.

Jeff Teague has played outstanding, averaging 19.5 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 7.2 APG this month, and and has been a vocal leader on and off the court, he has the makings of a star-to-be. Josh Smith is currently our only all-star, and barring injuries, will be our only all-star, and is averaging 21.1 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 3.5 APG, 1.3 steals, and 1.7 blocks a game. Unfortunately, it is all but certain that he will be traded at the deadline. Horford was an All-Star Snub, and is averaging close to 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 1 and a half blocks a game. Our team needs to play well to gain some momentum into the dealing, so when we get back to games, we can continue to carry that into crunch time. Teague and Horford will be key to that success, as well as possibly whoever we get from the Smith trade.

Speaking of the trade, There are some interesting rumors as to potential suitors for the star forward. the Clippers have contacted us, as well as the Bulls, Suns, Rockets, and Pacers, among others. Here are our top five trade options for the Hawks

                      1-Bulls:
Carlos Boozer, Jimmy Butler, and a 2013 1st rounder, in return for Smith, Johan Petro, and Shelvin Mack.

This is the best deal, but, whether or not the Bulls will be willing to give up Butler is a big hole in this deal. If so, this is the best deal as Butler could be a Star if he develops to his highest potential, and Boozer will give us a power forward to score in the high post, and I am a huge fan of Boozer on this team, and although we get a player who isn't quite as talented a defender as Smith, but he brings a scrapper, tough guy mentality inside that the team could use. couple that with Butler's stellar perimeter D, and a pick in the late first round, and we have a definite help to our team.

                      2-Clippers:
DeAndre Jordan, Matt Barnes, and a 2014 1st rounder for Smith, and Mack.

This is also a good deal, and likely the most realistic deal. DeAndre Jordan has been a top trade rumor since game 1 of the season, and he would be a good complement to Al Horford, who is offensive minded and would be fine transitioning to the 4 and may even thrive more there. Barnes has been discontented as a bench wing player for the Clippers, and has requested a trade, and he would help give us a defensive minded wing, and defense is a must for us right now. Barnes would also be an upgrade over Kyle Korver, who I love as a scorer and an effort guy, but is best suited coming off the bench.

                      3-Celtics:
Paul Pierce, and a 2014 1st rounder (top 3 protected) for Smith.

This would be number one if financially we could get either Bass, KG, or Green, and if Sullinger were healthy then we would add him to there part and Johan Petro to ours and this would be the top deal. If we could get any of those four bigs in the deal this deal is number one for sure. We would get pierce, a half-court offensive nightmare, and underrated defender, as well as starting big who would be able to finish out the season for us with a good option. The Celtic's are expected to be bad next year, so the pick would be useful as well. Without the big man, we get Ivan Johnson as a starter, which isn't a good thing, even though Johnson is solid, he is best suited as a bench player.

4-Suns: Marcin Gortat, Jared Dudley, Wesley Johnson, and a 2014 1st rounder (top 5 protected) for Smith, Petro, Mack, and a 2013 second rounder.

Maybe its just me, but I cant stand Marcin Gortat, I just do not think he is a good player, and I wouldn't think he would be the Center we need to get over the hump. I like Dudley as a solid starter and then I really like Wesley Johnson, who we can develop, and he could take the reigns i a couple years a viable starting wing player. But, I would rather get Scola, who is not going to be traded, per sources, then Gortat and leave Horford at center rather than sliding him over to the 4 for Gortat.

T-5: Rockets: Chandler Parsons, Royce White, and a top 5 protected first rounder for Smith, and Petro.

I Doubt that we could run Royce White as a starter for one, and, I don't know if The Rockets would part with Parson, when they can just wait, and grab him in free agency.

T-5: Pacers: Danny Granger, David West, and a 2013 second rounder for Smith, Petro, Dahntay Jones, and a 2014 second rounder.

This would be a great one, but it is very unrealistic. More than likely you would replace West with Hansbrough, and take out Jones, which is much less attractive. So with that said, I have the deal downgraded to accomadate for that.

It will be an interesting next few weeks. Let's hope we can use this time as momentum towards the ultimate goal, a deep playoff run. New GM Tony Winter has earned my respect, but now he must earn a victory in his first Trade Deadline.

Cold As Ice: The Tony Winter Story

                        November 8th, 2013 (continued)

                        "Well, where's my information?"

"I, I... I can't tell you and put the team at risk!" I shouted back into the phone.

"I see... Well, then say goodbye to your precious girlfriend, LeAnna, because you have made a HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!" His thunderous shout hurt my ears, and then he hung up. I paused, dazed with overwhelming fear.

What have I done? I have to find LeAnna, I have to save her

                        I dialed her number.

                        "Hello?"

                        "Hey LeAnna."

                        "Oh hi Tony, what's up?"

"I need you to come to my apartment, like right now, wherever you are, whatever you doing, drop it and get over here ASAP!"

"Whoa, calm down, what's going on?"

"You're in danger, I will explain more when you get here, but as long as your by yourself you could be attacked at any moment."

"Attacked? Danger? What do you mean?"

                        "No time! Get here now!"

"OK, I just got out of the shower, I will be there in 20 minutes."

"DO YOU NOT HERE ME!! I SAID EVERY MOMENT IS NEEDED HERE. I hate to be mean, but just throw on a towel and drive over here, you can get dressed when you get here."

"Jesus, you really mean business, I'm on my way."

                        "Thank god!"

We said goodbyes and she and I hung up. I dialed Mark up

                        "Hey Mark"

"Hey Man how did it go?"

"Fine, can you be at my house in less than ten minutes please?"

                        "Yeah, I'll be there."

                        "Ok, bye."

                        "Wait why--"

"I'LL EXPLAIN WHEN YOU GET HERE!"

                        "OK then."

I got home, and I waited for them. The doorbell rang.

A freezing, towel-wrapped, soaking wet, half naked LeAnna was standing there, and it was ice-cold in my apartment complex's hallway on my floor for some reason.

"LeAnna! Come inside, let's get you dried off." I said with relief, she made it here safely.

"Now what is this 'danger' I'm in?"

"I got a call from some man who threatened to kill you had I not given up information that would have hurt the team, and I could not give up this information so I didn't tell and now you could be killed if you weren't here, where I and the Hawks' security can protect you."

"YOU WHAAT??" She was mad, and scared out of her mind. Right before I could respond she burst into tears and embraced me.

"It's ok, your safe now."I said, doubting myself slightly as I said it.

she wiped away the tears and said,"How can you be so sure?"

"I'm not, but I won't let anything get to you without going through me first."

                        "Ok."

She and I stood there frozen not sure what to do for a moment, and as I was about to say 'Let's get you into some clean clothes', her towel slipped off, and both of us we're red as rubies.

"Uhh..." I said. We both froze out of shock, but then I realized she was my girlfriend, why am I so timid about this?

"Well," she began,"I guess we are going out, so this shouldn't be a big deal. I'll go change."

                        "Ri-- Right."

She wen't to the bathroom and changed, and I heard another knock on the door.

                        "Hey Mark."

                        "Hey."

I explained to him the situation and he figured I Thought he could be in danger too.

The night was stressful, on edge, and uneventful. It was about 11 o'clock when LeAnna asked if she could stay the night, and I of course said yes.

"Look Tony, I get you wanna protect me but I'll be fine, I'm gonna head out, goodnight lovebirds." Mark Said.

"Goodnight. Take a security escort though, please, just to be safe."

                        "OK"

I was scared, we all were.

Cold As Ice: The Tony Winter Story
(this is from the perspective of LeAnna)
                          February 14th, 2013

I woke up, lying in bed, and turned to my side, where's Tony? I thought. I had been living with Tony now for the last week due too the threat of being kidnapped. There was still a chance that I was in danger here, but I have faith in Tony to protect me. I love that man, though he is a little awkward, he tries to hard to make me love him, when I already do, and he is hasty to take action. He acts on impulse. I think I am a good compliment to him. Although, I want him to open up to me more, I have learned a lot just because we spend a great deal of time together, especially now that we live under the same roof, but he is so, closed, and I don't know if that is due too his nature or, my hypothesis, a falling-out with the last girl he met. He has full trust to confide in me, and full attention on me, or so he claims, but I don't know. Now, where is he?

"Good morning, Beautiful" Tony said, he was particularly cheery today, and was holding a tray with my favorite breakfast, Orange Juice, fresh squeezed no pulp, scrambled egg-whites, whole wheat toast, and a bowl of Special K with strawberries in it.

"Good morning." I said with a big smile on my face.

                          "Happy Valentine's Day."

"Oh right, Happy Valentine's Day, I forgot."

"I thought we could take the day off today and have a day together."

                          "That sounds nice."

He set the breakfast down, and clicked on the TV, to Sportscenter of course. That is something he doesn't budge on, we will live and breathe sports.

I wasn't paying any attention to what the analysts were saying, but then I heard something about Jeff Teague, our young Star Point Guard,

"God, Skip Bayless is an Idiot!" Tony Said with contempt. He was 'hating' on Teague. Tony always liked Teague, and will want to build the back-court to his strengths.

"It's ok sweetie, what does he know, if he's an idiot, who cares what he says, and all other doubters, let them fuel Teague to prove them wrong."

"Thank you, you always help keep me calm." we Kissed.

The Day wen't smoothly, and at the end of it we went out to dinner and were just finishing up our meal.

                          "LeAnna?"

                          "Yeah?"

"I have 2 tickets to the All-Star Game, 3 point contest, Dunk contest, and Rising Stars game, and I was wondering if you wanted to take a weekend vacation to Houston with me?"

"I'd love too! Houston is now Paris, but anywhere with you will be a great time!" I was excited.

                          "Great!"

Looks like we're going to Houston.

I'm at the deadline now, and I'm looking for an opinion on the Smith trade. should I trade with the bulls suns or clippers, as those are the remaining realistic deals. I have to decide soon because I am gonna do all of the trade deadline now.

I'd say either the Bulls one(at apush the Clippers trade.).
The Bulls pick is usually around 20-25 in the draft and in the upcmoing Draft you should be able to pick up a bigman and a SG with either of the picks, you could also waive Boozer if his contract proves problem.
The Clippers one gives you a big man you can use rom the get-go, but you'll aslo have to replace Barnes eventually.
Just, do, not, do, the Boston trade.
                              MIAMI HEAT

Pierce got injured, I can't anyway. And barnes is a guy who I would be comfortable with for this season, and use one of my picks on wing, or trade up with both into the lottery, and get a better wing. I think the Bulls trade makes the most sense when I work it out in my head because the clips could then work a deal with Utah, and the suns with new orleans, for Al Jefferson and Eric Gordon, respectively. I already have made a few other moves, but a lot of the trades depend on the how the Smith trade works out.
