Wasn't too scared about playing Melvindale but we were without Dontae and I wanted to be a little more aggressive. Tyree didn't convert as well as Donate but he was a real force on the glass. Think we can make something happen this year.
        Yep Yep.......I'm just that good

            Post game thoughts

Stone: only played 11 minutes but I did good it seems, hit the only shot I took, but the 2 turnovers were ridiculous, I shouldn't be doing, I'm headed to the gym to work on things

Restoring the Fear: A Belltown Tigers Legacy

Coach Anderson: "This will be be last game coaching basketball here at Polk. My wife has gotten sick and I feel the need to be there supporting her as much as possible. I'm sorry you guys all have to suffer from these coaching changes in such a short period of time but I have to do what's best for me. I wish you all good luck and hope you'll continue your victorious season and take us to the sectional championship.
Once again, congratulations on a great legacy started here at Belltown, it's been an honor to coach you guys from day one. Every last one of you have a bright future ahead of you and I hope you will continue it wisely. Now this isn't the last of me, I'm still the biology teacher and all but I guess I won't be coaching anytime soon. I haven't heard much on who'll be taking me spot at head coach but I'm sure they'll know what they're doing."

Brandon: This school is a f***ing joke. Three head coaches in a year? Coach Anderson wasn't even coaching varsity anymore and they're doing more tryouts just because? It's the middle of the season, so much for team chemistry being important. I mean don't get me wrong, a lot of my bros are on JV...but the fact of the matter is that there shouldn't be more tryouts. Thankfully I'll be out of here soon, hopefully I get an offer to play somewhere next year, Rob Murphy sent me an email to say they were interested. Maybe if EMU offers to me, I'll get a look somewhere else.

Me and Omari paced trough the halls as the bell dismissed.

"You heard they were having another basketball tryout?"

"Yeah I don't really see why they made it in the middle of the season though." Said Omari as he closed his locker.

Omari is a true dumb** I thought to myself "Who cares, this the big chance to get to the highest level bro."

Omari sighed and began, "Kendrick, we are the bench warmers of the JV team have you not realized. We don't have a chance at varsity."

I grabbed scrambled for my keys as I replied, "You keep thinking like that, I'm getting on that team."

"It's stupid anyways why would they say that in the middle of the season when everything was already settled."

"Whatever you say. I'm going to a party or something." I said as I got into my car.

"Who the f*ck has parties during the week?"

"I don't even know. I guess we gotta go home them." I said as we pulled out the parking lot.

"I'm starting a petition for no re-tryouts." Said Omari. "It's not right."

"I don't care. Shut up." I barked and the car went silent.

Omari was an annoying brother. Despite being twins we were nothing alike and I was ok with that because like I said, he's annoying. I was prepared for this tryout thing.

Announcement left in everybody's voicemail box:

Hello, I am Mike Rice, the new varsity basketball coach at Belltown. Obviously, I know I have a troubled past, and I regret that. I have crossed a new leaf since Rutgers, and I am glad Belltown has given me a second chance.

Now, tryouts will be held Wednesday, December 23rd, and Thursday, December 24th from 9 AM to 5 PM. There will be a mandatory tryout meeting to discuss cuts on Friday, December 25th. The meeting should last from 7 AM to 11 AM.

No new people may try out, I repeat no new people may try out.

                                Have a Happy Holiday!
