Re: Restoring the Fear: A Belltown Tigers Legacy
Cass Tech knocks off Belltown in OT, 115-114
In one of the best and most controversial games in MHSAA history, the Cass Tech Technicians beat the scrappy Tigers 115-114.
At one point, the Tigers were down by 23 points, but the Tigers fought back and had the lead before Michigan Commit Ryan Holiday drained a mid-range shot with 3 seconds left to force OT.
In overtime, the Tigers held a 4 point lead with 30 seconds left, but Holiday hit a 3 pointer to cut the lead to one(112-111). Then, Durango Jennings, the #2 2018 prospect, stole the ball from Jerry Williams and dunked it to make it 113-112.
Eventually, it came down to one play from Belltown. The play was supposed to be an iso for Eury Reyes, but Christian Carter missed his pic, forcing Reyes to pass the ball to Dontae' Brown. Brown had to chuck up a mid range shot, which missed, but Cole Smith put in the putback dunk right as the buzzer went off to signal game over. Did he make it or not? The refs said he didn't get it in in time, and the Technicians escaped Belltown with a one point win.
Ryan Holiday went off for the Technicians, putting in 33 points. Durango Jennings also played well, scoring 19 points in 28 minutes for the Technicians. Brandon Gillespie was the star for the Tigers, putting in 32 points in 21 minutes.
John Beilein of Michigan and Tom Izzo of Michigan State attended the game.

Restoring the Fear: A Belltown Tigers Legacy
*ESPN 2 reporter walks over to Dontae'*
Reporter: Here we have the #5 prospect in the 2017 draft class Dontae' Brown! Tough loss out there tonight, but you played exceptionally well. 14 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. How are you feeling?
Dontae': Well, I feel great. Even though we lost, I really showed why I'm as recognized as I am to the general public.
Reporter: So Dontae', let us know. You've obviously gotten scholarship offers as a freshman. Who has it been?
Dontae': Ma'am I don't know if I should. (laughs)
Reporter: C'mon Mr.Brown!
Dontae': Fine. I've gotten calls from Louisville, UNC and Kentucky but that's it. No scholarships yet.
Reporter: Wow. You have a bright future ahead of you. Quick question, any teammates do you think deserve recognition for their talent? Get the spotlight shifted off you for a bit?
*Dontae' thinks.*
Dontae':Jeremy is a beast. But then again, what if people pay more attention to him then me? Can't let that happen.
*says outloud*
Dontae': Nah. My teammates are good but I'm the famous one for a reason haha.
Reporter: We know that for sure! Thanks for your time. This has been Jill Jackson reporting from Detroit. Back to you guys in the studio.
*Dontae' thinks to himself*
Dontae': Damn I hope none of the guys see this on TV tonight. You Look Good, You Feel Good. You Feel Good, You Play Good. You Play Good, They Pay Good. - Deion Sanders

Re: Restoring the Fear: A Belltown Tigers Legacy
Just take me home said Jerry as he settled in the back seat of Aaron's car.
Usually he would be wrapping his hands after the game but his ribcage was in throbbing pain.
"Uh I think I might have broken a couple ribs on in the fourth" he groaned.
"Well that's what you get for diving into the stands you monkey" said Aaron.
"Yea you should've told your coach to sub you out after that" added his brother Rashad.
Jerry couldn't help but laugh despite the pain.
And miss the game? Not when we was having that much fun. Too bad the refs seemed determined to let Cass Tech win.
Jerry looks outside the window and sees a group of reporters.
Aye lets hurry up and get up out of here before them ESPN folks come around and ask me more question about what school I'm thinking about going to.............I'm ******* 14 years old! I aint thinkin about no college just ***** and basketball.
Jerry begins wrapping his hands as Aaron peels off out the parking lot.Yep Yep.......I'm just that goodComment

Re: Restoring the Fear: A Belltown Tigers Legacy
Coach: Has anyone seen Brandon? John Beilein wants to talk to him.
OFF: I was pretty mad that we lost that one. I thought for sure Cole's putback dunk went in, and I was expecting a review of the play. But when i saw all the players walk off, I thought we won, but the box score said Cass Tech.Comment

OFF: I couldn't believe it as I was reading, you even had me thinking that dunk went in and also...my CAP is going off recently. Is Rice finding ways to use him better or is he touching the ball more or what?Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: Restoring the Fear: A Belltown Tigers Legacy
Brandon: Thanks man, I don't know why they kept giving me the looks they were...I 'd be willing to bet that the scouting report on me says to make me beat people rather than letting me set up others. With all that work we've been putting in outside of practice, I think I'm gonna start making teams regret "making me beat them".Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

OFF: Well, with Jerry struggling from the field(9-28 FG), Rice feels like Brandon is the better shooter, so he's using him more.Comment

Re: Restoring the Fear: A Belltown Tigers Legacy
Brandon: I mean, scoring a bunch of points is great and all...but you had better game than I did. I had more turnovers than assists, and I really didn't get to set up all of you as much as I'd have liked. Not to mention you damn near had a triple double bro. Our solid games aside, I'd rather have won though...that dunk was good, don't care what anyone says.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:
