    SEASON OUTLOOK

Fresh off their first Playoff Series win since 2000 the New York Knickerbockers have high expectations for the upcoming 2013-2014 NBA season. In the offseason the Knicks acquired Metta World Peace, who grew up in Queens and played college ball at St. Johns, out of free agency giving their defensive unit a huge boost. Another key acquisition that occured in the offseason was the trade with the Toronto Raptors for Andrea Bargnani. The Knicks had to give up fan favortie and 3 point specialist Steve Novak, Marcus Camby, and Quentin Richardson for the aging former number 1 overall pick. I asked coach, Mike Woodson, what he thought of the trade and he was quoted as saying "With the right coaching here in New York Andrea can thrive and give us the offensive support we need." I also asked how he believes Carmelo Anthony will play in his contarct year and his expectation for Amar'e Stoudemire. Woodson shot back with "With all honesty I think that Melo will be the recipient of the MVP award and will lead us to an NBA Championship. Melo always brings that championship mentality and we just need to put the put the pieces together to bring home that trophy." to While chuckling Woodson joked "In Stat's case i just think if we can keep him away from fire extinguishers he will be fine." I have high hopes for this Knicks season and honestly think this is the year to bring home and NBA Championship.

      Staring Lineup Announced
      Point Guard: Raymond Felton
      Shooting Guard: Iman Shumpert
      Small Forward: Carmelo Anthony
      Power Forward: Amar'e Stoudemire
      Center: Tyson Chandler
      Sixth Man:Jr Smith
      Sixth Man: Andrea Bargnani

Many New York Knicks fans were confused upon the starting lineup being announced by coach Mike Woodson. Their main concern was at the 4 spot. Most predicted that recently acquired Andrea Bargnani would be the staring power forward since he has more explosiveness and is younger than Amar'e Stoudemire. When asked about his choice Woodson said that "Amar'e is a team captain and deserves a starting spot. He's the reason we landed Carmelo and he means a lot to this team and will start for as long as he is here." Fans also felt weird that they would have two Sixth Men not just one and are curious to see if either reigning Sixth Man of the Year Jr Smith or Andrea Bargnani will force their way into the starting rotation. One can only assume that time will tell.

NEW YORK KNICKS VS MILWAUKEE BUCKS

            KNICKS 116 BUCKS 109

In a game where OJ Mayo scored 44 points and Larry Sanders grabbed 19 rebounds our New York Knicks came out on top. Most of Mayo's points occurred while he was being guarded by the 205 pound Felton. An obvious mismatch from the start was for some reason not corrected by head coach Mike Woodson and had the Knicks lost Woodson would've been under some heavy fire. Despite the giving up 32 of OJ Mayo's 44 points Felton scored 3 points grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 11 assists. When asked about guarding Mayo, Felto said "Ya know man, I'm not the quickest guy on the court by any means, but I'm going to give my all on the defensive side of the ball no matter who I have to guard." Although the Knicks were killed by the Milwaukee guards Amar'e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler absolutely dominated in the paint combining for 26 of the Knick's 41 rebounds (Stoudemire had 15 and Chandler had 11). The Knicks starting 5 also contributed 10 BLOCKS. 5 from Carmelo Anthony, the player of the game scoring 25 points grabbing 9 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists, and 3 BLOCKS from shooting guard Iman Shumpert.

I like this so far, only thing I'd suggest is spacing the recaps instead of blobbing it all together.
