Cox Visuals - The Joseph Cox Story - NBA 2k14

AN: The below is pasted from Cox Visuals, there have been two before this one, Cox State of Mind died due to hard drive failure, Cox Visuals failed due to me being lazy..
    This one will not.

Alright, so I'm gonna do a new GM Dynasty, With the Lakers(to start, this is a story dynasty so who knows where the hell I'll end up by the end of this), I'm intending to this kinda story like Trekfans, hope he doesn't mind.

So let's give you some basics

    Roster: Updated on Janurary 20th
    Sliders: Simulation on All-Star difficulty
    Quarter Length: 12 minutes
    Sim Quarter Length : 12
Draft Class : 2014 NBA Draft Class off of NBASky.com
    Season Length : 82 games
    Playoff Format: 7-7-7-7
    Injuries: On
    Progressive Fatigue: On
    Player Roles: Off
    Team Chemistry: On
    CPU Trades: On
    Trade Override: Off

Gonna try involve all aspects of running a team, from on-court drama to even *shudder* romance, for the main character, Joseph Cox, at least. Maybe if I get an idea or so.

Re: Cox Visuals - The Joseph Cox Story - NBA 2k14

I kinda wanna discuss the team at this point.

I'm not happy at all with this team

    We have

PG: Steve Nash, Jordan Famar, Steve Blake, Kendall Marshall
SG: Kobe Bryant, Jodie Meeks, Xavier Henry
    SF: Nick Young, Wesley Johnson
    PF: Pau Gasol, Ryan Kelly
C: Jordan Hill, Chris Kaman, Robert Sacre

I'm trading/releasing Kaman, I'm releasing Blake as well

    EDIT 2-2-14
Wesley Johnson is done as well, I can't score with the dude at all, did many play now games.

Re: Cox Visuals - The Joseph Cox Story - NBA 2k14

AN: The next two entries will be copypasted because I'm going with the same storyline.

Joseph Cox stepped off of the private jet, it was a white Cessna Citation Bravo but it beared the Lakers Logo on the tail.

Joe was fairly suspicious of this job offer, no team, especially the Los Angeles Lakers, call up a no-name scout for an interview, they had really good scouts, but they told him it was for the GM Job. He decided to hold his opinion until he got to the Staples Center and he was interviewed.

When he first got to the stadium, he was impressed with the way it looked in Lakers colors, and then smiled at the fact that the Clippers and Lakers had to share a stadium.

He was shown to the offices by a assistant, he saw Jim and Jeanie sitting at the black conference table.

"Hello Mr. Cox, my name is Jeanie Buss and this is Jim Buss." Jeanie said, as she gestuered to Jim, who gave a nod of his head.

"We have flown you down here to interview for our GM job, so let's get to it." She said, Joe nodded.

"You have the choice between resigning Kobe Bryant or Pau Gasol, which one do you choose?" Jim asked.

"Kobe, Kobe is a franchise player, he can do everything Pau can do, he's faster and can keep up with the younger players, plus he can shoot, it's an easy decision." Joe said.

"Okay, next question. Do you feel this team can win now, with a few added pieces?" Jeanie asked.

"Most definitely, you give me free reign over this roster, I'll find you a team that can win now." Joe said.

"Alright just two more, Do you believe in building in FA or the draft?" Jim asked

"Both, we can most effectively surround our rookies with vets who can teach them the game and help them develop, it's silly to just stick to one way." Joe replied as matter-a-factly.

"Last one, How do you feel about us?" Jeanie asked

"I've seen the way you guys do things, and I like them but I don't need owners

"Alright, I think we have a good enough of a read on you to give you our decision." Jim said.

      "You're hired." He said.

Joe released a breath he didn't know he was holding in.

"We'll have you escorted to your office, we look forward to seeing what you can do here in LA." Jim said.

Joe looked out the window in the Conference Room

"Sweet damn, GM of the LA Lakers....this should be fun." He thought

Re: Cox Visuals - The Joseph Cox Story - NBA 2k14

The office was big, but simple, the backwall, like the conference room, bared Lakers Purple with the Logo in the center, a desk sat in the middle of the room, white top, white legs, but the top was a special one that allowed Joe to use an EXPO marker to write notes on(was bascially a clear glass top, kinda like the whiteboard from Numb3rs).

He was knocked out of his thoughts by a knock at his office door.

        "Come in." He said.

"Mr. Cox, the first of the applicants for the secretary job are here." A office manager told him.

"Ah good, send the first one in please." He said.

The first applicant, was a women, about 5'3", black hair, blue eyes, usual looking secretary, but one thing stood out to Joe.

It was how much damn jewelry she was wearing, She had FOUR rings on one hand, two necklaces, and a pearl wristband on each wrist.

"Somebody must like her." He thought.

As it turned out later, the women didn't know a thing about basketball and he sent her out, he wanted someone who had a basketball IQ.

He turned around, and yelled at the open office door.

        "Next one please!"

The next one, was someone he never expected.

Re: Cox Visuals - The Joseph Cox Story - NBA 2k14

Joe had been waiting for 10 minutes, he needed to get back to his plans, getting caught up waiting for an interview is not apart of it.

Eventually an office manager came by.
          "They're here." He said.
          "They?" Joe thought.

Two women then walked into the room. Joe allowed a confused expression to cross his face, he then noticed that there was one chair. He got up and grabbed a spare one from the corner and put it right next to the other chair.

          "Please sit." Joe said.

The two ladies sat down and Joe took a good look. They both were of a darker skin tone, one who appeared Hispanic the other a bit tan, maybe with a tad of Puerto Rican.

He shuffled the resumes on his desk. He squinted at them. The last two resumes he had. Their names were "Genevieve Jamison" and "Cherity Lawrence".

"Which one of you is Cherity?"
The tan one replied with a enthusiastic "I am."
Cherity was about 5'8 maybe 195, she had the look of an athlete, she had a brunette kind of hair and brown eyes, and according to Joe's standards, she was pretty.

"I understand you're applying for the assistant GM job?" Joe said.
" I am, and my friend, Genevieve, is applying for the secretary job." Cherity replied.

"Okay I'm going to ask you, Cherity, a few simple questions about the game, you would not believe how many people have applied for the Assistant GM job and have known nothing so far, ok?" Joe asked

"Yeah sure, do what you have to do." She replied

"Okay, what is a Power Forward?" Joe asked expectingly

"A Power Forward is one of your two big men, he can be your 2nd go to guy on the rebound, and should be capable of blocking and dunking and be able to score inside and block the inside." Cherity replied

Joe was pleasantly surprised, he hadn't met anyone who had knowledge, especially a woman, it wasn't that Joe was sexist, it was just that women weren't into sports as much as guys were.

"Alright, now I read from your resume you played in the WNBA for a while?" Joe asked

"Yes that's right, and before you ask, I hated it, it's a diva match the entire time." Cherity said, cutting him off.

Joe looked ataken back, not saying that he didn't agree with her, he went to WNBA game once and all he heard was yelling from the players about they are whores. But they were good at playing Basketball.

"Okay I feel like I have all I need, considering you're the 4th person to apply and the only person I feel like can do the job you're hired." Joe said, feeling confident he had found his man, or women in this case.

"Great, I'll leave you to interview Genevieve." Cherity said.

"Alright, thanks, be in tomorrow by six AM." Joe said

          "Thanks!" Cherity waved and left.

He then looked over to Genevieve.

Genevieve looked about 5"7, 195 like Cherity, she had browns eyes, black hair and was pretty was well.

"Pretty girls like basketball, noted." Joe thought.

"Okay Genevieve, your resume tells me that you have great organization skills, can handle jackasses, from the wording of the resume, and you have great references. Now can you tell me what a Center is?" Joe asked, wanting this one to go through.

"A Center is the MAIN big man on your team, like he's responsible for rebounding and blocking, on an ideal team you want an Defensive Center who can score inside the arc." Genevieve replied, with flying colors.

"Perfect, You're hired." Joe said, allowing a smile to cross his face

          "Great thanks." Genevieve said.

"Okay see you then, the Lakers vs Clippers game is tonight, go ahead and watch." Joe invited

"Will do, see you tomorrow at six." Genevieve replied

          "Great." Joe said.'

"Two big positions filled just like that. Perrrfect." Joe thought.

So guys, I was trying to trade Kaman, and this trade came up, I'm wondering if it would be too unrealistic here's the pros and cons

              Lakers Pros
Would get rid of two aging players
              Improve defense and depth

              Lakers Cons
Salary cap would be eaten up even more, would have to get Kobe to play minimum(like 473k) money.

              Thunder Pros
Free Salary Cap of 2 MONSTER contracts
Acquire two good aging players who can preform on the same level add experience into the mix.

              Thunder Cons
Would trade young star Serge Iblocka for Pau Gasol.
