Re: The NEAC: D–I Men's Basketball
The NEAC has named Shaq Davis (Baltimore) the Defensive Player of the Year.
9/10 First-Place Votes
Easy choice here for the selection committee. Baltimore's big presence in the paint earns the inaugural DPOY award. The lone voter who didn't choose Davis had him second (behind Bryce Robinson). Davis was a monster all but the first game of the season, setting NEAC in-game records in two defensive categories—rebounds (18)and blocks (5).
The NEAC has named Jo Kane (Camden) the Offensive Player of the Year. 5/10 First-Place Votes
The opposite of the DPOY award. Kane was awarded it for some truly spectacular games despite his ice-cold slump in the middle of the season. Also receiving 1st-place votes: Matt Bless (1), Anthony Brown (2), Angelo Valdez (1), Trey Youngblood (1)
The NEAC has named Matt Bless (Hartford) the Most Outstanding Player of the Year. 8/10 First-Place Votes
Well, what can you disagree with here? He led his team to the title, posting double-doubles and earning an SI Cover along the way. He came to shine when his two co-OS players were gone. He is your most outstanding player of the year. Also receiving 1st-place votes: Shaq Davis (1), Angelo Valdez (1)
Yearly Draft Meter Additions (End of Year Rating)
Matt Bless—+12 (50%)
Anthony Brown—+5 (27%)
Shaq Davis—+6 (40%)
Jay Greyvenstein—+5 (26%)
Stone Harper—+4 (24%)
Omero Kai—+6 (29%)
Jo Kane—+6 (34%)
Ryan Kilpatrick—+7 (30%)

Re: The NEAC: D–I Men's Basketball
After a fantastic season that cemented the NEAC as a mid-major conference, worthy of an AUTOMATIC NCAA MARCH MADNESS BERTH this season, the NEAC is back and better than ever with a whole cohort of new rookies who look to bring parity to the league after several dismal showings last year. SO... YOU READY?
Hartford
The league's regular-season and playoff champions return with Matt Bless, reigning MOP, and the threat DJ Porter can bring in the paint. To that championship mix they've added 6'11 big man Adrian Hines, who lets D.J. Porter move to his natural position at PF—a threatening duo. Coupled with Bless in the backcourt, Hartford will once again go far.
Baltimore While they didn't hand out any scholarships, this Baltimore team is still one of two to make the championship game. Omero Kai is a rock, Ryan Kilpatrick showed major potential and Shaq Davis is a BEAST. Another run, even a tourney berth is far from out of the question.
Rochester
Angelo Valdez has a new toy in FR SF Christian Carter. Placed alongside major threat Bryce Robinson and centre Russell Taylor, this is a very good team that just got better. It'll tough, but with these four in place a season of improvement could see them in the dance next year.
Dover
One of the few teams not spearheaded by a major backcourt piece, Jerry Malone's Colonials are looking to improve on what finished as a disappointing season. To do that, scoring threat James Smith should help out overwhelmed PG Stone Harper. This is a team, from Harper to Smith to Casen Lewis to Malone that can score from nearly anywhere—and they won't let you forget it.
Harrisburg
What will a good PF do for the best wing tandem in the NEAC last year? Well, the addition of James Murray will let Jay Greyvenstein focus more on offense, which combined with offensive-minded, high-scorer Anthony Brown should translate to a fearsome number of PPG.
Bel-Air
Two scholarships to positions of need may be exactly what hyped-yet-beleaguered Bel-Air needs. Trey Youngblood (I hope Deuce is reading this...) now has a true point guard to feed him the ball and a true centre to match-up with Shaq Davis and grab the rebounds Happy Lovelace may not. Champs? Not yet. Playoffs? More likely.
Camden
AH THEY HAVE ANOTHER SCORER BESIDES OPOY JO KANE AH NOW K-Y CAN FOCUS ON REBOUNDING/DEFENSE AH. Boy, a point guard would have been nice.
NEXT UPDATE: Game #1!!!!!!
