    Statline: 13 pts, 4 rebs, 3 asts, 1 stl, 1 blk in 30 mins.

"From one boy wonder to the next Wiggins to Davis. Davis is a 2 guard in a power forwards body. He can take the ball to the rim off the dribble and hit the jumper with ease. On defense he cleans the boards and swats everything. But Roy brought his big man game tonight and kept him under control. I played ok, solid and filled up my statline. Not my best game to date, but Tyreke Evans is a tough matchup and I had to guard him a lot tonight."

      GM 30 V Pistons

      Game 30 Indiana Pacers 97 - 95 Detroit Pistons

Morrison and the Pistons had a nailbiter tonight but it really lacked quality in so many spells.

      G. Monroe
      A. Drummond

      Game Leaders
      Pts - 26 - B. Jennings (Pistons)
      Rebs - 12 - A. Drummond (Pistons)
      Asts - 8 - B. Jennings (Pistons)
      Stls - 3 - G. Hill (Pacers)
      Blks - 3 - A. Drummond (Pistons)

      Player of the Game
      C. Miles
      22pts, 4 rebs, 2 asts, 2 stls

      Ammo's Angle

Statline: 12 pts, 6 rebs, 1 stl in 30 mins.

"That was an ugly game tonight, but it always is against the Pistons. A win is a win and we have won 6 in a row now. A super result considering most players barely got into double figures. Josh Smith spat on the sideline at Stan Van Gundy which was a lot of fun, I hear his days are numbered in Detroit, and you can see why tonight. Its off to face the Nets next in Brooklyn on Boxing Day. But have to fly home first to enjoy Christmas with my family! I'll only be there for a few hours, but hey at least we arent playing on Christmas Day!"

        Christmas Day Round Up

        Not feeling the Christmas spirit????

        1. Josh Smith and the Pistons

Josh Smith got into it with Coach Stan Van Gundy and the his Piston teammates in a home loss to the Pacers. Smith spat at Van Gundy as he walked off after being substituted early in the 4th quarter. Van Gundy and Smith had been at logger heads for weeks now as Van Gundy has little patience for players who don't play within the system. Smith has been gunning for the scoring title this season, and shooting a paltry 32.3% from the floor. Yes we all know Josh can't shoot but he doesnt seem to get it.

Smith is now due to be waived from the remaining years off his contract using the stretch provision. Because Smith was waived after the Sep. 1 stretch provision deadline, he’ll take in the full $13.5 million he’s owed this year, and the stretched-out payments won’t start until next season – at $5.4 million a year stretched out over five years.

Should Smith sign with another team this season, a virtual certainty despite his terrible play, the Pistons will be on the hook for whatever the chasm is between his new team’s salary and his guaranteed Piston money. The same goes for this offseason and beyond, when Smith could presumably sign a long-term deal with another squad.

        2. Lance Stephenson and the Hornets

Lance Stephenson as a Charlotte Hornet was always a marriage of convenience. The Hornets weren’t Stephenson’s first choice; ideally he would have re-signed with the Indiana Pacers at more money than the Pacers offered.

Stephenson wasn’t the Hornets’ first choice; ideally the Utah Jazz wouldn’t have matched the four-year, $63 million offer sheet restricted free agent Gordon Hayward signed long before Stephenson came into the picture.

Certainly Stephenson’s first eight weeks with the Hornets have been less than ideal. He is shooting 39 percent from the field and 16 percent from 3-point range. He has frequently been benched in the fourth quarter of close games in favor of reserve guard Gary Neal.

And now, sources confirm, the Hornets are soliciting trade proposals to deal away the player they signed in July to a three-year, $27.4 million contract.

How did this signing, greeted with such applause in Charlotte over the summer, deteriorate so quickly?

The obvious answer is Stephenson isn’t quite the star-in-the-making he was made out to be. He has struggled to fit in with new teammates. While he has played hard, averaging 10.3 points, seven assists and 4.9 assists, he is prone to turnovers (2.3 per game) and sometimes over-dribbles, slowing the Hornets’ ball-movement. Expect a trade sooner rather than later here with the Hornets in 10th place in the East.

        3. Kobe Bryant and the Lakers

With the Los Angeles Lakers having an awful start to the season, frustrations are bound to begin boiling over. And after the Christmas Day embarrasment to the Bulls, the Lakers sit at 6-24, with the worst record in the league.

Kobe Bryant is one of the most demanding people in NBA history and he voiced his displeasure with the team after the game calling them soft according to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times.

While walking off the court, Kobe had some more choice words for his team, this time speaking to Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak. Various rumors have come from fans around United Center on the night, apparently reporting Bryant shouting "I'm done with this s**t Mitch. get me out of here".

One thing about Kobe Bryant is that he expects to get 100 percent effort from his teammates at all times and if he feels he isn’t getting that, he won’t be happy. The Lakers aren’t the most talented team in the league. so they need maximum effort just to hang with most teams, especially in the West.

If Kobe does indeed retire after the 2016 season, he intends to make sure that the fight and heart is still with the Lakers once he is gone. With the Los Angeles Lakers having an awful start to the season, frustrations are bound to begin boiling over.

Two interested observer's on the night had a good chuckle, Bulls royalty Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. I bet Jordan and Pippen organised a chance meeting with Bryant after the game, you would love to be a fly on the wall so see and hear that.

With this win we are one game away from 8th place in the playoffs. Right back in it now. Lets keep this run going. I've never played as confidently or as well since the Gonzaga days! Keep rolling Pacers!"

"Well to beat the Bulls to continue the streak was a stretch too far. Derrick Rose is back to almost his best and he has this Bulls team clicking. They are 2nd in the East right now. Their defense was awesome and we struggled to break it down. Cope led all scorers with 19 points. Our post players struggled to break down the triumverant of Gasol, Noah and Gibson. Most teams have been unable to match the Bulls their too. I fullly expect them to catch the Heat in January."

But we were playing so well I really thought we had a shot. I don't know if we will have enough to catch these guys yet but thats were the standard is and we have to rise and meet it, sooner rather than later. Yeah I'm shocked at what they are doing, but they are a pretty solid team. I've seen Deng play a lot and for team GB so I'm a big fan, I hope he starts playing better for you's soon! The East is skewed in my association because of injuries, the wizard have had Beal, Pierce and Nene out since mid November! Raptors had DeRozan out the same length and Lou will too!

The Knicks are always a wildcard tho, they cud go up or down very quickly. I'm hanging in the race by a thread, can't afford injuries!

                          OMG Bryant Traded!!!!!

Ernie: Guys hate to stop the convo but we have some serious breaking news. We go live to D.A in Miami.

D.A: Well for the first time in my career i'm stuck for words. Kobe Bryant has been traded.

                          Shaq: To who D.A?!!!!

Chuck: Yea damn it D.A. your killing us!

D.A.: Kobe Bryant aka Mr Laker has been traded to the Charlotte Hornets!

Kenny: Whoa, you have got to be kidding me man!

Shaq: I don't believe you man, how, what, when why?!

D.A.: Well details are slowly emerging but I was just talking to Pat Riley a moment ago and he heard the news. I just picked up the phone to Mitch Kupchak and he confirmed it.

Chuck: Wow that's damn crazy. Who for?

D.A.: Well Riles seem to think its based around Michael Kidd Gilchrist, Lance Stephenson, some pieces and 2 future 1st rd picks. There has to be more than a few throw in's here to match Bryants 23.5 million contract.

Kenny: Thats incredible i'm dumbfounded. The Lakers give up the legend, the Black Mamba, and get what seems like a helluva deal.

Shaq: I really didn't think he would leave for Charlotte. The reunion with Phil in New York seemed to make sense.

Chuck: Well there has to be some truth in the rumors of Bryant and Jordan meeting in the United Center on Christmas Day then.

D.A.: Yes it seems the seeds were sown around that time. The two have apparently grown close over the last year again, with Bryant closing in on Jordan's scoring record.

Kenny: What the hell has Jordan promised him?! The keys to the city? A stake in ownership of the franchise?

Shaq: Kobe's a smart guy. The East is damn weak and it could be an easier route to get back to the finals. I wonder what else Michael has up his sleeve.

D.A.: Guys it seems there may be a 3rd team involved here. Whats that? The Indiana Pacers.

Chuck: This thing just gets crazier. Now why would the playoff chasing Pacers want to help Charlotte?

D.A.: Looks like Stephenson could be heading to Indiana, with D. West moving to Charlotte. Other's included.

Kenny: Hmm this one is going to be tricky to work out. Where's my calculator?!!

D.A.: Full details to come later guys, but for all intents and purposes, after 19 years Kobe Bryant is finally a Charlotte Hornet.

Ernie: Ok guys lets get back to the game, I can't wait for D.A's update later.
We'll leave you with a graphic of what Kobe might look like as a Hornet from all those years ago!

                            Bryant traded to Hornets

                            Bryant traded to Charlotte Hornets

It was 1996. The NBA draft was fast approaching and a young high-school phenom had caught the attention of many NBA scouts prior to the draft night.

Although Bryant's hometown Philadelphia 76ers had the #1 pick in the draft, they elected to go with the Georgetown Standout Allen Iverson. Bryant went 13th in the Draft after Bryant and his agent Arn Tellem announced emphatically that his client wouldn't play for the Charlotte Hornets.

The Lakers and Hornets had a pre-arranged trade essentially swapping Bryant for Vlade Divac. The trade took a month to complete until the salary cap was raised allowing Shaq to sign his new contract first after leaving the Magic.

"That is an impossibility. There are no if's. It would not happen'' the agent, Arn Tellem, said when asked what would happen if a proposed trade for Los Angeles Laker Vlade Divac fell through.

"He is going to be a Laker, and that's the only team he's playing for. He went down five spots to do this, to make this happen, and it will happen.''

Tellem also implied he intimidated New Jersey out of drafting Bryant eighth overall so he could be chosen 13th by the Hornets and traded to the Lakers. The Nets elected for Kerry Kittles instead.

And now 19 years later, Bryant is heading to Charlotte at last. Bryant technically has only been a registered member of two NBA franchises, and this fact now won't change. The loss to Los Angeles is already being felt, as fans were already demonstrating outside staples center last night. The loss of an icon, one of the all time greats, Michael Kidd Gilchrist you better be ready. I'm sure the Lakers brass will feel this loss in their deep pockets too. One of the most marketable superstars of the last decade is gone.

The trade was initially a two team deal between the Lakers and Hornets. Charlotte were sending Lance Stephenson, Michael Kidd Gilchrist, Marvin Williams and 2 future 1st rd picks to the Lakers for Kobe Bryant.

Somewhere along the line, the Lakers done their homework and decided they didn't want Stephenson, and all the headaches he brings with him. They already have Nick Young for example. They would settle for Gerald Henderson and another 1st rd pick. So the Hornets had to go in search for another pick. Rich Cho picked up the phone and rang another transitional team, the Indiana Pacers. He offered them Stephenson, and former Indiana Hoosier Cody Zeller. In return he asked for David West, Adam Morrison and a 1st round pick.

The Pacers done some soul searching and decided the future looked brighter with Stephenson back and the young promising hometown kid on their roster. They could part with the 1st rd pick as they are due to be in contention for a playoff spot with Stephenson back. Bryant apparently had stated his desire to have Adam Morrison and David West join forces with him in Charlotte, and this meant it could happen, it might not have been a deal-breaker but it certainly helped seal the deal for Bryant.

So the Hornets now had 3 1st rd picks to go along with MKG, Henderson and Marvin Williams. That was all the Lakers needed to go with it. A good prospect or two, and 3 future 1st rd picks. All a rebuilding team desires. The trade in full now at long last. Bryant will officially be unveiled at a press conference later in Charlotte.

Wow to Charlotte? I didn't see this happening. Good luck with the hornets. At least you have Kobe with you.

I'd been sowing the seeds with all the articles recently, was wondering if anyone would figure it out! I made this trade, but think it will shake things up nicely!
