EUGENE, ORE — Oregon has gotten an announcement from one of the nation's best freshman that he'll be switching up his scenery and will transfer to Oregon to play basketball for the program. This announcement came after Jenkins arrived on campus during spring break for tours from some of the current Oregon Duck players.
Coming from North Las Vegas, Jenkins committed to play for Northern Colorado in Greeley. During his freshman tenure that ended in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Jenkins averaged 18.9 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. All numbers that he led the team in.
When the award ceremony came around the 6'8 small forward was honored with Freshman All-American while also winning both freshman and player of the year honors in the Big Sky conference.
Kendall will be eligible to play following the 2016-17 season where he'll join the deep in depth Oregon Ducks roster.
Kendall used the Northern Colorado website to further explain why he chose to make this decision.
Oregon head coach Dana Altman started his career in Eugene back in 2010 and since then he's been responsible for bringing in over 18 transfer athletes while a total of 23 have decided to leave the program. A complete in and out situation, let's hope the Ducks can keep a consistent roster for the next couple of years as they push for title hopes.
