Rumor: Possible buyout for Kevin Garnett? Sources say unlikely

(Brooklyn) - With the Nets in free fall, there has been talk of Kevin Garnett asking for a buyout to chase another ring in what could be his final season. Brooklyn’s big man didn’t say he would ask for or even want a buyout, but he sure didn’t rule the possibility out, either.
“I haven’t really thought about the intangibles on the side. I don’t know what management is going to do,” Garnett said. “When my situation comes up, I’ll obviously give it some attention. Other than that, my attention is trying to get us on a winning streak, get us on a road where everybody’s playing together. If you have another level, go to it. I haven’t even thought about my own personal contract situation.’’

One-on-One with Coach Lionel Hollins after a blowout loss against the Wizards

Reporter: There has been several rumors on Forward Kevin Garnett possibly being bought out of his contract, is this true?

Hollins: Well I understand the frustration of this team because we are on a slump. I talked to Garnett recently, and I think these rumors are a total BS. Garnett told me that he would love to stay in Brooklyn and be part of a turnaround.

Reporter: Very well. How is it in the locker room for you guys?

Hollins: Like I said before, everyone is frustrated, but the guys keep their head up and are optimistic. They never think they will lose. Every time before a game, they get pumped up and are confident they will get the W.

Reporter: What happened out there? You guys got BLOWED OUT by the Wizards. It was disastrous!

Hollins: It was just one of those games when things don't work out. Kevin Garnett looked a little soft out there due to being bothered by these BS rumors.

Reporter: Since you guys are 21-29, do you guys think you guys will make the playoffs?

Hollins: What kind of a question is that?! Yes, we WILL make the playoffs!

Reporter: Do you expect any change in the roster due to having a bad record?

Hollins: Sorry, I cannot and will NOT answer this.

Nets' Joe Johnson crowned three point shootout champion

(Brooklyn) - After Joe Johnson lost in the 2014 Three Point Contest, he made a promise that he will make the 2015 Three Point Contest. Joe Johnson said, "To be honest, I did NOT expect to win this, but I did. I thank everyone including my team and the fans for this." He added, "I lost last year, I wanted to seek revenge, so I worked on my three pointers in the off season to get better so I can participate in the contest again. And now here I am."

(Brooklyn - 2/18/15) - With the trade deadline coming up tomorrow, rumors are firing up. According to sources, the Nets are shopping PG Deron Williams, SG Joe Johnson, and C Brook Lopez. Lopez and Williams have been struggling this year while Johnson is declining year by year. Johnson still has a few years left in his deal and he is making almost the same amount of money Kobe is making. It is unlikely that Brooklyn is going to receive many draft picks due to Williams', Johnson's, and Lopez's trade value. Expect the Nets to get one or two second rounders with many young players. LOL TBH, I simmed up to the current date, and IDK how, but I magically got the same record as how they are IRL. But the Grizzlies game I put, that was based on real-life.

Sources: Nets agree to trade Deron Williams and Brook Lopez

(Brooklyn) - The Nets have finally traded guard Deron Williams and center Brook Lopez in separate deals. The Nets were unable to find a trade partner for Joe Johnson, but were successful for Williams and Lopez. The Nets traded C Brook Lopez and SG Alan Anderson for C Kendrick Perkins, SF Perry Jones, SG Jeremy Lamb, and a 2015 second rounder. A few hours later, the Nets agreed to ship PG Deron Williams, C Jerome Jordan, and OKC's 2015 second rounder for PG Jeremy Lin, PF Ed Davis, and a trade exception. The Nets finally broke apart their big 3 with only Joe Johnson remaining. The Nets' GM said, "I would like to thank Lopez, Jordan, Williams, and Anderson for what they did for the organization. It was great having them here, but it was a time for change of scenery." He added, "As you know, we are rebuilding and trying to acquire young assets to build this team."
