    One Time For The Mamba

    One Time For The Mamba.

    Franchise Info
    System: Xbox One
    Game: NBA 2k15
    Game Mode: 2k MyLeague
    Rosters: 2k Official
    Difficulty: All - Star
    Sliders: In Progress
    Start Year: 2015-2016
    Defending MVP: James Harden
    Defending Champions: Cleveland Cavaliers
    Defending Finals MVP: LeBron James

    Team Information
Name: Los Angeles Lakers (1960-Present), Minneapolis Lakers (1947-1960)
    Conference: Western
    Division: Pacific
    Arena: Staples Center
City: Los Angeles (1960-Present), Minneapolis (1947-1960)
    Owner(s): Jerry Buss & family
    President: Jeanie Buss
    General Manager: Mitch Kupchak
    Head Coach: Jeff Hornacek
    Championships: 16 (2010)
    Conference Championships: 31 (2010)
    Division Championships: 23 (2012)

My Goal: No matter how ridiculous or challenging of a proposition, I want to win Kobe Bryant his sixth ring. I simmed the entirety of the 2014-2015 NBA season and am starting in the offseason. I hope we can get a solid player or two in free agency, and build momentum into the first season of this franchise. The return of Julius Randle and Kobe Bryant should be a huge help. We just need to bring another piece in to make one final push.

Note: Being on Xbox One, I won't have screens for now. But I think I will do something with the Upload Studio, maybe the player of the game montage. The screenshot feature is nearly done (sigh), so hopefully we'll have them soon.

Byron Scott Fired; Lakers Hire Jeff Hornacek
          Marc Stein - espn.com

After an abysmal 21-61 season, the Lakers have fired Byron Scott. The former Laker guard was pegged to lead the franchise just last summer, but the marriage lasts less than a year. Things never went right for Scott, after losing Julius Randle on opening night to injury.

Kobe Bryant's injury did not help either, and now the Lakers are hiring their fourth head coach since Phil Jackson stepped down in 2012. Jeff Hornacek was the guy from the beginning, and the hardest part was to pry him away from Phoenix, where he played in the 1990s.

He signed a three year deal worth $10.4 million on Monday night.

"We just didn't play well enough as a team, and he [Scott] got the raw end of the deal because of that." Kobe Bryant said. "We sucked." The five time NBA champion went on to say.

The Lakers have the 3rd pick in the 2015 NBA Draft in June.

Game 1 - New Orleans Pelicans - Staples Center - Los Angeles, California

Lakers Offense Stagnant in 4th Quarter; Hornacek Era Starts With Loss
                Los Angeles Lakers (0-0) vs. New Orleans Pelicans (0-) - October 27th - 2015

                91 - 102
                22 | 29| 23 | 28 | 102
                27 | 26| 18 | 20| 91

                Starters
                Patrick Beverly | Jrue Holiday
                Kobe Bryant | Eric Gordon
                Stanley Johnson | Tyreke Evans
                Julius Randle | Anthony Davis
                Ed Davis | Marc Gasol

Story of the Game: The Lakers held a lead late in the third quarter, but went cold in the fourth. New Orleans rebound advantage in the second half was big, and it allowed Gasol and Davis to get easy put-backs. New Orleans shot 23 free-throws to Los Angeles' 12.

Player of the Game: Marc Gasol. The newly minted Pelican had a great debut, as he scored 22 points and brought down 12 rebounds. He and Davis could combine to have the best front court in the game, even with Davis' subpar (by his standards) performance tonight.

Stat of the Game: The Pelicans pushed their lead to 17 points with just under four minutes in the game, after they outscored the Lakers 28-20 in the period.

Quote of the Game: "It's a long season. These young guys are figuring it out, and I liked what I saw. We won't make a habit of this." - G Kobe Bryant, who scored 17 points on 7-13 shooting, including 3-7 from beyond the arc.

Play of the Game: Andrew Harrison's sick dunk off Jamal Crawford's steal before the end of the half.

                Notable Stats
                Julius Randle - 19 PTS (6-11 FG, 7-8 FT), 12 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL, 1 BLK
                Kobe Bryant - 17 PTS (7-13 FG, 3-7 3PT), 2 REB, 4 AST, 1 STL, 2 BLK
                Jamal Crawford - 16 PTS (6-13 FG, 4-8 3PT), 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK
                Ed Davis - 13 PTS (6-12 FG, 0-1 FT), 7 REB, 2 AST, 1 BLK
                Stanley Johnson - 8 PTS (3-8 FG, 2-4 3PT), 3 REB, 5 AST

                Notable Stats
                Marc Gasol - 22 PTS (10-13 FG, 2-2 FT), 12 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL
                Eric Gordon - 20 PTS (7-18 FG, 2-6 3PT), 7 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL
                Jrue Holiday - 16 PTS (6-12 FG, 1-1 3PT), 5 REB, 3 AST, 1 BLK
                Tyreke Evans - 16 PTS (7-13 FG, 1-1 3PT), 5 REB, 3 AST, 1 BLK
                Anthony Davis - 10 PTS (4-10 FG, 2-4 FT), 12 REB, 4 AST, 3 STL, 1 BLK
