Brandon Jennings Still Has No Timetable For Return
    SEP 28, 2015 12:55 PM

Brandon Jennings has been cleared by doctors to continue a steady progression of basketball related rehabilitation activities geared towards a return to the basketball court. That progression will consist of strength work, conditioning and cardiovascular exercises, basketball related activities and finally a return to team practices and full-contact related drills.

No timetable has been established for his return and we will continue to provide updates as appropriate.

Jennings suffered a ruptured left Achilles tendon during the January 24 contest at Milwaukee and missed the remainder of last season.

Reggie Jackson Ready To Prove He's Worth $80M Contract
      SEP 29, 2015 11:10 AM

Reggie Jackson re-signed with the Detroit Pistons this offseason on a five-year, $80 million contract.

Jackson is embracing the pressure that comes with those type of expectations.

"Always," Jackson said Monday during Pistons media day at The Palace of Auburn Hills. "I've got to live up to trying to win a championship. Money is money. I worked just as hard when people said I didn't have as much, and I'm going to work just as hard after."

Jackson wants to get better now that he has the chance to be a full time starter.

"I want to be the best," he said. "And that's my approach, each and every day. That's what wakes me up and that's what drives me. If I'm not the best or my peers aren't telling me I'm the best, I've got to continue to go and earn that kind of respect.

"Somebody's the best, so I have to go try and prove it."

Pistons Would Have $12.8M In Extra Space By Waiting On New Drummond Deal
        SEP 29, 2015 1:23 PM

Andre Drummond's cap hold of $8.2 million for the 2016 offseason may mean he doesn't get an extension with the Detroit Pistons before the Oct. 31st deadline.

The Pistons would like to keep Drummond long-term, but signing him to an extension now would compromise their cap space for next summer.

"Everybody comes to a point in time in their career when they are going to deal with contract situations, and it's better that I keep it as a personal thing and just focus on what I can control right now, which is making my team better," Drummond said.

Drummond will make about $21 million in 16-17 regardless whether he signs now or in July 2016, except if he signs the extension now, that entire amount applies to the Pistons' cap when free agency opens next summer.

The San Antonio Spurs waited to extend Kawhi Leonard and they were able to sign LaMarcus Aldridge and re-sign Danny Green with that flexibility.

Stanley Johnson Practicing At Point Guard Due To Pistons' Injuries
          OCT 3, 2015 9:51 PM

Stanley Johnson has been forced to play point guard in practice for the Detroit Pistons due to injuries.

Reggie Jackson has a thigh contusion, while Steve Blake suffered a concussion.

"Stanley was really good today — really good. Even at the point. He played well," said Stan Van Gundy.

Van Gundy said he'll use Johnson in pick-and-roll situations and envisions him becoming a guy who can consistently run offense.

"I'm not a (point guard) so I don't want to play it, but do I want to have the ball in my hands? Do I want to get into high ball screens? Do I want to make plays with the ball in my hands? Yes," Johnson said.

He added: "That was definitely something (Van Gundy) said he'd let me do — as long as I don't turn the ball over, which makes total sense. If I'm turning the ball over I don't need the ball in my hands. I'll either be on the bench or in the corner."

            New Alternate Jersey
            OCT 4, 2015 8:01 PM

The Detroit Pistons will sport a new alternate jersey during the upcoming 2015-16 season.

The inspiration for the Detroit Chrome jerseys came about as a way to honor our coolest cars from the past and the cars of the future. Detroit is universally known as the auto capitol of the world, where chrome leaves an indelible mark on the cars we create. The uniforms feature a matte chrome base color with clean simple lines inspired by the classic muscle cars that have roared up and down Woodward Avenue for decades. The navy trim and Detroit emblazoned across the chest represent the blue collar work ethic that the auto industry and region was built on.

These jerseys join the current lineup of the home white Pistons, the away blue Detroit, and the navy Motor City jerseys which are worn on Motor City Sundays.

All of the jerseys have the gold band on the neck honoring the Pistons 3 World Championships.

                  Danny Granger Waived By Pistons
                  OCT 26, 2015 5:01 PM

Danny Granger has been waived by the Detroit Pistons.

Granger will need approximately a month to complete rehabilitation on a plantar fasciitis injury in his left foot.

Granger was unable to participate in Pistons' training camp.

Granger played in 30 games with the Miami Heat last season before his trade to the Phoenix Suns.
