You know I'll be following. Once you made the move did the divisions realign?

I understand your thoughts about Starbucks and all, but....as long as Schultz is the head of Starbucks, that's a wound that will not heal.

Your court floor looks pretty cool! I made a quick design setup in a a test MyGM last night and went with a mostly green design with yellow accents. Thought about going with the Seahawk colors, but it wouldn't be the Sonics if I did.

Going to try a MyLeague and see how that goes. Might try posting in here if I get a good feel for it.

Look forward to see how you build the team.
      Make #FranchiseNation great again!

They will in the offseason if you don't enable Customize League, but I enabled that in the beginning and shifted everyone around accordingly.

Thanks for following, look forward to seeing what you're gonna do with the Lakers!

I'm more than willing to change the arena name if it's bad. Frankly, the options for the Seattle area are numerous.

MyLeague is far freer than MyGM, the options are numerous. The only thing that's missing is the AI trade negotiations (if you enable 30 team control, anyway -- I did because I simply don't trust the AI to not screw things up), otherwise it's really fun. I prefer the freedom over the structure of MyGM but I understand the appeal.

More updates slated for tonight -- my first win (and no video footage of it cause my recorder was fubar, but that's fixed now). The game is pretty tough, my user record is 1-3 right now -- you've really got to play smart basketball and not force things, otherwise the AI makes you PAY.

I'll definitely be following this, I have a feeling it'll be one of the best dynasties on the site if you can go the full 80 seasons.

Just a suggestion though, would it be possible to use an ESPN, Sportscenter or TNT theme in your videos? If not, the in-game sounds would also be pretty good.

Yeah, the first video posted wasn't the quality I was hoping for (video recorder went haywire) but I've got the settings figured out now and it records full sounds (minus the commentary, which cuts out randomly on the PC for some reason).

The track used in the first video was an old ESPN highlight track I believe, but it's not my favorite -- I had another bouncing around somewhere that I need to find that I liked better.

The only issue at this point with the video recorder is getting the file size down to something manageable -- 20-30 second clips are 500MBs often. I'm not lacking in space, but I will be if I keep it up, lol.

Yeah, when I record videos with FRAPS (I assume that's what you're using), the file sizes are huge, I usually delete them after I upload them. In your case, I'd invest in an external hard drive to store the videos if you want to keep them.

I do like to keep the raw videos (just for end of year highlights or something) but they're huge. I'm using MSI Afterburner at the moment (at least until Nvidia updates Shadowplay to be compatible with 2K16) and it does a fair job of it.

I have a 1TB HDD and another 1TB external and I'm running my OS off of a 250 SSD, so I don't lack space (I have plenty of USB sticks too with gigs of things) but I can't save ALL the highlights.

What I'm trying to do is teach myself to record only the best moments -- the spectacular dunks, the clutch shots, the big blocks -- but it's really hard with the game FULL of it, lol. A good problem to have, really.

^Amazon! Yes, I've seen that done ALOT for various Sonics courts since the game came out. It just didn't seem an original take.

Perhaps I should go with these guys.

I could name the arena PACCAR Arena and call the place "The PAC". I just want something that sounds good, lol. The reason I named it Starbucks Arena was so I could call the Arena "The Star" which appealed to me cause it sounds like this in my head.

"Welcome to the Star, home of the Sonics."

But, on the other hand, the name of the arena actually has some story line worth ... I think I'll keep it for now. Maybe Schultz gets tired of the hate mail from having the the arena name and goes back to wherever he gets his coffee.

This might be my opening headline.....

"And in a bold move, the Seattle Supersonics have given the name rights of their new arena to the Seattle based company, Tully's coffee. A move that some insiders are saying is a direct jab at Howard Schultz, chairman and CEO of likewise Seattle based Starbucks, for selling the original team in 2006 to Clay Bennett and the team eventually being relocated to Oklahoma City."

(As kids I had a wish list of what I wanted Lakers v. Celtics to do/track, and I'd fill in the rest. 25 years later I would have never thought technology would advance this drastic in gaming to make all this possible. 2k16 is a dream fulfilled).

                        Requests:

                        - Snapshot of current roster and contracts
                        - Your "Team Intel" (if you have any players on the block or targeting)
                        - Your draft board (to see what prospects may be wearing Green and Gold)

                        ----
One thing I did notice "testing" 2k16 simulating to peak its functionality, it is difficult to sign staff in the off-season, even retain your own. So I am intrigued who will be coaching after this year. I personally think Tyronn Lue and Sam Cassell both deserve HC shots, but I will keep my opinions for my own dynasty!

That's money. Consider the name officially changed to PACCAR Arena AKA The PAC (the PAC 12 sideeyes the room). Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, 2K16 has the depth that no sports game before has -- it's so deep, I can't keep up with it at this point (it'll probably take me a few virtual seasons to actually figure it all out).

I'll go ahead and grab the Sonics screens, that was a good thought -- I didn't invest in 2K15 (stuck with my modded 2K14), so this is my first experience with MyLeague and there's a lot to look at and use.

I came across the retention thing as well while simming -- a very high number of retirements for the coaching staff (and former players becoming coaches/GMs, like KG and Ray Allen). There's one old franchising standby I've used a few times over my dynasty years and I hope he'll be free in the offseason.

Hope to see you jump in and do a dynasty for yourself -- with the how deep 2K16, I would really like to see the dynasty forums alive and rocking again.

Thanks for the feedback and the follow.

Sonics Lay the Boom In Win
                            By Vonny Lee

The Seattle SuperSonics have returned to the NBA as a force no one was prepared to reckon with -- at least, it appears that way so far. After a crushing opening night defeat against the Spurs, the Sonics entered tonight's game against the Rockets at 2-1, back-to-back wins coming against the Magic and Nuggets. To say either was difficult would be giving them too much credit, as neither team is particularly good.

The Sonics -- composed of an odd mix of NBA veterans and young talent -- came into tonight's game looking to prove they weren't just going to beat inferior competition.

The first was filled with something Lionel Hollins has been trying to instill since training camp: defensive focus and intensity. The Sonics don't have much in the way of defenders (Jefferson, Noel, and Gortat are really the only three above-average defenders on the team) but when their defense is on, this team is at it's best. Unfortunately for the Sonics, they lost Noel midway through the first to a shoulder injury. Early reports indicate that he's suffered a hyper-extended shoulder and will be hurting for weeks to come.

Despite that news, the first half was all Sonics as they ate the Rockets alive with the pick-and-roll, a game that Gortat feeds off of and so does former Rocket, Carl Landry, who stepped up big in the absence of Noel. The Sonics were feeling good heading into the third quarter.

And then James Harden showed up. The Beard, virtually silent in the first half, began to cook in the third and the Sonics couldn't stop him. Jamal Crawford, while still slick with his handles, has never been known as a defensive stopper and Harden took full advantage of him in this quarter.

The Sonics could do little but watch as Harden took over the game, caught in the moment like the rest of us were. Multiple defensive switches took place to try and slow Harden down, but they only seemed to light more of a fire under the near-MVP of last season.

Houston pulled out to an eight-point lead heading into the fourth, a virtual lock to increase that as the crowd roared and rocked the Toyota Center. The Sonics, however, didn't fold -- in fact, they doubled-down on their gameplan and stuck to pick-and-roll, feeding the bigs on the inside to free up the perimeter for shots.

Hollins inserted both Ray Allen and Crawford in, along with Larkin, Jefferson, and Gortat, playing a versatile lineup that hadn't seen any minutes together that season. But they saw most of the fourth quarter as the Sonics squad dished, drove, kicked and hit from deep, the 3pt shot finally following.

The last five minutes of the game was a tug of war between the will of the two teams, the lead trading back and forth as the Sonics scrapped to regain the lead, then fought to hold onto it from James Harden's flamethrower of a shot.

Ultimately, teamwork took the game and the Sonics -- with five players scoring in double figures -- won a critical game against a superior conference opponent. The win was far from perfect but it showed that when this team is playing the right way, even the most superior of opponents can fall.
                            Any comments are welcome.

We'll have plenty of cap space come the summer -- whether there will be good free agents there is another question entirely. At the moment, I'm really aiming to build through the draft and through acquiring young guys (24 and under) whom may not have quite achieved yet in the league. More on those plans later.
