Coach Mason Jr. announces Captains, and a Starting Lineup

      October 27, 2036

Mason Jr: I'd like to announce the captains of our squad for the 2036, Jairus Joynes and Xavier Morban. They've displayed great qualities of capable leaders, and will hopefully help take us far this season. Now for the starting lineup. We may get criticism for being small, and unorthodox, but I personally believe that this could potentially be the best group of guys out there on the court. Jairus Joynes and Xavier Morban will be joined in the starting lineup by Harry O'Hara, Rashard Haranga, and Evan Herman. We hope to achieve great success with this young, talented squad here at Boston College.

2036, Game 1 vs. Appalachian State

Boston College beats Appalachian State on the back of their Captains

Coach Mason Jr said that some of the players in the locker room were expecting to blow out a lowly Appalachian State squad that hadn't done anything in recent history. However, they were wrong, as BC was only up two points going into halftime. Lazare Buboltz, of the Mountaineers, torched the Eagles for 18 points at half. Coach Mason made a crucial switch, putting Jairus Joynes on him in the second half, and it proved to be a smart decision, as he only had 7 second half points.

Joynes himself, had a masterful performance, stuffing the statsheet and going for 25 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals with only one turnover. Co-Captain Xavier Morban was also fantastic with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Freshman SG Zakee Cobb also had 14 points off the bench.

"JJ and Xavier played great today, and led the team to a nice win. I hope they're able to play like this when our conference schedule comes up, because we'll need it."

"How do you feel about the way your freshmen played today?"

For the most past, I was happy with Harry and Zak. Harry could've shot the ball better but I like the fact that he's being aggressive. Zak impressed me today with his shot selection and maturity, and it showed up on the box score today."

Great Alaska Shootout Recap: #25 Boston College wins it all

A week after entry into the AP Poll, the Boston College Eagles manage to win 3 games in 3 days, and are crowned the winners of the 2036 Great Alaska Shootout.

Coach Mason Jr, during the post game interview of the finals game, said "It was a very fun experience for me and the team, we'd never been up here in Alaska, and we're very lucky to have played well enough to leave as champions. We've got a big game against Illinois coming up, so we can't get ahead of ourselves and must remain focused."

When asked about his team finally showing up in the AP Poll, he didn't seem surprised.

"I mean, my guys work hard in practice. Being ranked doesn't surprise me, but we need to continue to work hard because the road only gets tougher from here."

Boston College News: Eagles move up 9 spots to #16 in the AP Poll, Recruiting news

After winning the Great Alaska Shootout, the Eagles have risen 9 spots in the AP Poll, to #16 after being #25 previously.

Coach Mason Jr: I mean, it's a big rise, and now that we're considered one of the better teams in the country, I hope it pushes my boys to work hard and rise above the rest.
            ________________________________________

There's talk that Boston College, who is losing only 1 senior, is not recruiting aggressively, and is only targeting two players:

Dana Stevenson, ***** 6'4 SF from Cambridge, MA (#10 OVR, #2 SF)

Stevenson is being heavily recruited by 15 big programs, but is reportedly choosing between Rhode Island, Syracuse, Georgetown and Boston College.

Percy Humphrey, **** 6'9 PF from Chicago, IL (#35 OVR, #PF)

Humphrey's only seems to have high interest in 2 schools (Boston College and Illinois), BC is projected to land him over Illinois, in the Early Signing Period.

The Eagles come into December ranked #9, 4 spots behind #5 NC State, who they get the pleasure of playing against, at NC State on December 21st, in their first conference game.

"The NC State game is gonna be the biggest test of the year for us. They have some great players in Bassirou Bain (15 PPG), Laurie Wright, and Bradley Pritchard. We need to play tough, and play well the entire game in order to pull out a win against them." said Mason Jr.

Dana Stevenson has confirmed that he has signed with Rhode Island, with BC as a huge player in his recruiting.

"It's a little disappointing, but we're most likely going to return most if not all of the rotation next year, so I understand why he chose not to come." commented Coach Mason Jr.

The Eagles also announce that they'll be playing in the Casual Apparel Holiday Festival, at Carnesecca Arena in Queens, New York. Mason Jr, originally from there, is very happy to come home, and even has a "christmas present" for his team.

"These boys are really happy about it, especially since most of their families are on the Northeast, so they'll be able to make the trip to Queens. I also have a little surprise for them, that they'll enjoy, since they're all about their swag." said Coach, with a smile on his face.

When asked about the possibility of playing #4 Marquette, he quickly changed his face, and said "They're a tough team, but we're looking forward to the challenge. We have to focus on beating Delaware first, then shift it to them."
