    The Association

So let me preface this with saying: I dont know how often this will be updated but I have decided to do a 30 team controlled MyLeague. I have done these things in the past and havent gotten far but I want to give it a shot and I figured this would be the perfect opportunity.

I havent been playing as much 2k as the basketball is over (For me ) and I have been short on time but I will update this as much as I can.

This will take place following the 2015-16 NBA Playoffs and will kick off with coach hiring, things that happened in real life may not happen in this. This is not supposed to be 110% realistic it is to be fun for me.

Background: The Warriors and Thunder battled for 6 games but the Thunder came out victorious and would advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2012. The Warriors would fail to repeat after a 73-9 season.

The simulation messed up the East but just assume the Cav's sweep the Raptors and advance to the NBA Finals riding on a 12-0 post season run.

The Finals kickoff with the Cav's taking game 1 and 2. The Thunder would take game 3 and 4 at home and 5 on the road. The Cav's would fight back to tie the series at 3-3 going into a game 7 in Cleveland. Game 7 was won by the OKC Thunder and Kevin Durant is the NBA Finals MVP.

Note: I will be controlling the Rockets however I will make executive decisions for all teams.

            News Update

            Tim Duncan, One Last Chance

Tim Duncan confirmed earlier today at a press conference he will be playing next season. It was heavily rumored that both Manu Ginobli and Tim Duncan would walk away from the game after this season.

            The Big 3 Walks Away
In the past week Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett have all decided to retire. Paul Pierce will take on an assistant coaching position with the Philadelphia 76ers.

            Celtics Chasing Stars
The Boston Celtics among other teams are rumored to be targetting multiple superstars that may be on the block this Summer. Potential targets include Blake Griffin, DeMarcus Cousins and Jimmy Butler. The Celtics hold the 3rd pick in the draft along with the Nets pick next year.

Other teams have been rumored to be making calls but the Celtics, by far have the most assets to make a trade.

Dwight Howard Meeting With Rockets Front Office and James Harden
Dwight Howard will be meeting with Les Alexander, Daryl Morey, Frank Vogel and James Harden this coming week confirmed Howard's agent. Howard reportedly requested to meet with the teams front office. This is almost certainly regarding his future with the team.

NBA Draft Looms, Trading Season Begins

With the NBA playoffs now over NBA teams may start making trades. Any big trades this off season will likely happen before the draft as the Celtics look to acquire a star.

Other NBA teams have made inquiries about potential trades but it is clear that the Celtics have the most to offer and teams looking to sell are very well aware of that.

Woj reported recently that the Celtics have contacted the Bulls, Clippers and Cavaliers regarding a potential multi team trade. No other details were given. Of course all of these teams have been in rumors for the past few months.

The Kings were the center of a lot of trade talks just a few weeks ago but have reportedly said they are not looking to move Cousins.

The Clippers have struggled to get out of the first 2 rounds for years and with Blake Griffins, well issues last year he is clearly on the block at this point. The Cavaliers are looking to shake things up quick before LeBron realizes his chance to win in Cleveland are slim.

If the Cav's were to move Love they would be able to do any of the following: Acquire another star, Acquire a better bench, Clear cap to make a run at free agents, Collect picks to either use or trade.

The Bull's have also been in a lot of trade talks as Jimmy Butler is reportedly not happy in Chicago right now. Nothing official has come through and things may be getting better as Butler did represent the team at the NBA Draft Lottery.

                Blockbuster Celtics / Bulls Trade

The Chicago Bulls and Bosten Celtics have just finalized a deal that will send Jimmy Butler to the Celtics.

                Boston Out:
                2016 Brooklyn Pick (3)
                2016 Boston Pick (23)
                2017 Brooklyn Pick
                Avery Bradley
                R.J. Hunter

                Chicago Out:
                Jimmy Butler
                Taj Gibson

The price was high but expect the Celtics to take the next step next year as a serious contender in the East.

LeBron Giving Cleveland One Last Chance?
LeBron has not officially announced anything but sources say he is planning to accept his player option. He is losing out on a big pay day but he does not want to get locked up long term with the Cavaliers.

After a disappointing end to the playoffs James will likely give the Cav's one last chance to make something happen. Sources say if there is not great improvement then it is likely he will be headed out. Its too early to say where he may go but the Big Three reforming in Miami is a possibility.

Another option is potentially teaming up and making the super team that LeBron talked about a few months ago. If the Knicks play their cards right they could have enough cap space to bring in both LeBron and CP3 next Summer.

Time will tell what happens but one thing is for sure, this is going to be a big season for the Cavaliers, and an even bigger season for any team that hopes to lure LeBron.

Hawks Shopping Paul Millsap & Jeff Teague Around
The Hawks who expect to lose Al Horford to free agency this year are apparently now taking calls for both Horford and veteran point guard Jeff Teague. The Hawks are reportedly looking for either a package of picks or picks and young players as they look to start rebuilding.

The Hawks have received calls from the Houston Rockets, and the Cleveland Cavaliers among others. No move is expected to be made until after free agency as Atlanta hopes to draw in a free agent.

                      Rockets/Grizzlies & Rockets/Kings Finalize Trades
The Houston Rockets have been busy so far today as they have made 2 trades already prior to the draft. Corey Brewer along with the 43rd pick in the draft have been traded for Omri Casspi.

The Rockets have also made a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies sending K.J. McDaniels and Sam Dekker to the Grizzlies for Tony Allen. Dekker missed all of the 2015-16 season to a back injury but is expected to play this year. McDaniels showed flashes of being a athletic defender in his limited playing time this year.
