62 | NR (3-2)College Station, TX -- The Syracuse Orange entered tonight game having won four straight, while the Aggies dropped their last two after starting the season 3-0.
That momentum seemed to continue for both teams as Syracuse came in and dominated A&M from start to finish.
To start the game, A&M's DJ Hogg came out hot, hitting his first three shots. His offensive spark made the game seem as if it would be competitive throughout. Hogg would eventually get cold on his way to a mere 4-13 from the field.
Syracuse's 2-3 zone yet again forced the Aggies to take a lot of perimeter shots. They would go 6-23 from downtown.
Andrew White continues his hot streak, scoring 16 pts for the second straight game. His hot shooting has propelled the Orange to two easy victories.
Andre Sharpe remains strong at the PG position for the Orange. He had his most complete game of the season today, scoring 13 pts, dishing out 8 assists, snagging two steals and a block. If he can keep this up, the Orange are looking like a real contended come March. The first half finished with the Orange up 10.
Poor shooting as well as decision making was the Aggies downfall, shooting only 39% from the field and giving the ball away 14 times.
Syracuse went on to win by 18, with a score of 80-62.
"We're playing really well right now" said coach Boeheim after the game. "If these guys can continue to play the zone like we are and knock down shots, we'll be hard to beat."
Coach Boeheim is right, with the Orange clicking on all cylinders, it's going to be difficult to take them down.
If anyone can do it, it's Joe Paterno and the Louisville Cardinals. They always seem to have Boeheim's number, and they head to the Dome next Tuesday at 7PM on ESPN.
DJ Hogg and Tyler Davis each led the Aggies with 14 pts. Davis snagged 14 rebounds as well.

Syracuse, NY -- The Orange are 8-16 all time against Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals, one of Boeheim's toughest foes throughout the years. Pitino was an assistant under Boeheim back in the day, and his experience with the 2-3 zone has proven invaluable.
To start the second half, Louisville came out in their patented press defense. Andre Sharpe and John Gillon came in together to run the PG position, and they handled the press with ease, leading to a few open baskets to start the half. Louisville would stick with the press and would force Sharpe into a few bad situations, leading to turnovers.

In the second half, it was another back and forth type of basketball game. Each team trading shot for shot, miss for miss. This game would feature 19 lead changes before it was all said and done.

Forcing three turnovers in the first two minutes, Syracuse was able to get the rams back pedaling, and the Orange jumped out to a 8-0 lead.

To start the game, Xavier came out shooting. Crisp passing around the perimeter and into the top of the paint opened up the zone for easy jump shots and penetration. Xavier jumped out to an early 9-2 lead.
As the clock ticked down, Syracuse trailed by two. Sharpe drove the lane and found Tyler Lydon under the basket for his only field goal of the game to tie the score 64-64.
