To trade Jameer or not to trade Jameer?

First Take: Is Dwight Howard's season legit?

Molly: This season Dwight Howard is leading in points with 27 a game, aswell as rebounds with 14 a game along with shooting a career high. The question is guys, is Howard's improvement legit?

Stephen A.: I believe it, this big man is coming into his own. Really showing the potential he has always had to be one of the greatest big men of all time.

Skip: "Greatest Big Man of All time"? Are you serious?

Skip: Dwight "C"oward couldn't stack up to Mutombo, much less Shaq, Hakeem or Tim Duncan

Stephen A: Skip this is a bad man.Speaking of Duncan, did you see the beat down Howard put on those boys.

Stephen A: 34 points and a whole lotta dunks.

Skip: That's the thing, Howard is one dimensional, he has no legit post game and relys on his teammates giving him the ball in good positions.

Yep, that's Skip and Stephen A.

As for Howard, he's finding a way to pull his team through -- Hakeem had to carry some not-so-ideal squads too in his younger years, but Dwight's game is very predicated on getting the ball in his preferred spots and overpowering his opponents; he'll need to add in something to his game as he gets older, otherwise he'll just age out of his best skills.

But the Magic are being carried by D12 right now and that's not a bad thing.

Glen Davis Wants out of Orlando

                - Carson Bush

Multiple sources have confirmed Glen Davis has met with the team and demanded out of Orlando. The twenty six year old feels as if he isn't getting opportunity in Orlando. Davis has been averaging 12 points in 24 minutes a game but has been benched behind veteran Kenyon Martin due to his lack of defensive ability.

The Battle for Florida Heat vs Magic Preview

The highly anticipated matchup between the Magic and the Miami Heat will commence this Monday. Many feel as if the Magic are the most serious contender to the Heat this year. Although lacking the depth of Miam, Orlando is led by top 3 player Dwight Howard. Howard is having a monster season this year and is carrying the Magic into the second seed of the Eastern Conference.

For the Heat it's business as usual. They lead the East and are playing great as expected. For Miami they are coming into the game leading the East by several games and appear to be coasting to the playoffs once again. Much of the east outside of Miami has been up for grabs as the two seed and the eight seed are not very far apart at this point.

Glen Davis traded to Blazers for Wes Matthews
                  __________________________________________________ _____

Out Goes Davis in comes Wesley Matthews. The Magic worked out a deal Thursday Night to trade disgruntled Glen "Big Baby" Davis. Davis has been averaging 12 points in 24 minutes a game but has been benched behind veteran Kenyon Martin due to his lack of defensive ability.

For those who don't remember this is the second time the Blazers and Magic struck up a deal. In the offseason the Magic traded Hedo, Jason Richardson and several picks for Nic Batum. So currently the Blazer's own all of the Magic's picks for the next two years except next years second rounder.

                  Magic Receive:
                  78 ovr Wes Matthews
                  60 ovr Shawne Williams

                  Blazers Receive:
                  70 ovr Quentin Richarson
                  75 ovr Glen Davis
                  Magic 2014 1rst round pick.

Steep? Uh ... I like Matthews but I'm unsure. 2 1st rounders in back to back years seems too rich for my blood, but Matthews can be a difference maker IF he stays healthy (not a given for him).

I won't lie, I wasn't a 100 percent sold on the deal either but Davis's morale was 0 and his ovr was down like 10 because of it. But yeah the Blazer's definitely own this teams soul for the next two years and it will either end up. A huge win for either one of us.

But I like the move I know it's very risky but, Davis was lowering our team chemistry and also played awful on defense for me with his D+ inside defense. Also I think if this trade goes in our favor we will be a top 4 team in the East and wouldn't be getting a good pick anyway.

Also i'm probably gonna look to dump Jameer Nelson this offseason for salary and I might be able to squeeze a crappy first round pick for him.

This is awesome. I just started a Hawks MyGm and got Joel Embiid he’s averaging 29.5 PPG 20.5 RPG and 2.5 BPG and Trade to get Buddy Hield averaging 24 PPG. Only two offensive threats on the team.

Newly Acquired Matthews out 1-2 weeks
                              __________________________________________________ _____

The Magic's newest piece Wes Matthews will be out for the next week or two with a sore foot. Matthews has been averaging 15 points a game since coming to the Magic. Matthews has been a big reason the Magic are 5-2 in January so far.

Matthews was traded to the Magic a few weeks ago for Glen Davis. Matthews has had some injury issues in the past which concerned some fans when he was traded to Orlando.

I do worry about Matthews and his injury history ... a minor one isn't a bad thing, but it's a situation to watch. Tough loss to the Heat, but expected with the Big 3 involved.

Surprised at how well the T'Wolves are doing out West -- maybe Kevin Love and Rubio will be able to stick together this time?
