If You Build it, They Will Come (CH 2K18)
The Coaching Legacy of Cody King

Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to my Dynasty. I hope you hop on board for the ride.
-I used SkillzFromThe6 CH 2K18 Roster, and did a 36 team roster on NBA 2K18.
-I will be using fluctuating custom House Rules to keep the most realistic and interesting NCAA replica I can for the viewers pleasure. Beginning power rankings are skewed due to using a custom roster, but eventually that will serve as my "AP Top 25", though I might cut it down to 15 because of the smaller roster.
-I will imitate the "One-and-Done" culture and release players from teams that would be One-and-Done's in CBB today.

    Settings-

    Difficulty: All-Star
    Ouarters: 10 Minutes
    Sim Quarters: 10 Minutes
    Season Length: 35 Games
    Playoff Rounds: 1 Game
    Roster: SkillsFromThe6 (PSN: SkillazKill)

    Recruiting-

I will try to use accurate recruiting based upon what is actually happening in CBB right now, but I have an algorithm I will use to determine where future players will land. I will seperate teams into tiers, based upon team prestige, and run a calculation to determine where a player will end up committing. Therefore taking away my own team's bias, and stacking certain teams with recruits. (When we reach that point I will post my formula.)

    Record-Breaking New Coach on Campus

Big changes are happening on the outskirts of Phoenix today as the Grand Canyon University Antelopes have hired Cody King all the way from Louisville, KY to be the new Head Coach. At 28 years old, he will be the youngest coach ever in Division 1 basketball history.

King spent 5 years at head coach of Georgetown College, playing in the NAIA in Kentucky, taking home a title his first year at the helm in 2013 and a runner up in 2016. This impressiveness has drawn the attention of the bosses here at GCU, sending Coach King 1,569 miles to the this campus to bring some changes to this GCU program.

He will have 3 months to bring about the change he dreams of, and the future looks bright for the Antelopes. His 7 year, $12m contract will give him a chance to prove himself on the D1 level, skipping about 4 steps in the process.
Psalm 118:17 "I will not die; instead, I will live to tell what the LORD has done."

GCU Holds on to beat FSU 85-76

Coach King is off to a great start to his first year at the helm, picking up win number one, on game number one. This didn't come easy though, fighting off the Seminoles 85-76 in 2OT. Both fan bases from Phoenix to Tallahassee were on the edge of their seat, in a game that saw the lead swing back and forth all game.

The Seminoles had an astonishing 58 of 76 points in the paint, tearing up the Antelopes in the frontcourt, while GCU countered by hitting 13 shots from behind the arc.

Senior Josh Braun finished with 23 points leading both teams, while hitting 6 threes of his own. FSU Junior, and 6th man, Terance Mann led the seminoles with 18 points off the bench.

The Antelopes will get one day of rest, but will spend it on a plane heading across the country to face the UConn Huskies on Sunday, who are coming off a 10-point loss of their own to VCU.

          October 29th, 2017-Grand Canyon University Basketball-Phoenix, AZ
UConn pulls away in the 2nd half to defeat GCU 83-68

The Antelopes had a double digit lead right off the bat in the first half, but slowly squandered it into a 15-point loss. The Antelopes bench outscored the Huskies 31-14, but were unable to grab the boards being outrebounded 43-33. Junior Jalen Adams led both schools with 27 points, while Freshman Mamadou Diarra hauled in 16 rebounds with 4 blocks.

Josh Braun put up 17 for the Antelopes hitting 3-three's early on. The Phoenix boys looked good in the northeast, showing some early promise for what they can become later on in the year.

Coach King made some statements in the press conference about the future of the program this season. "I was proud of this team and how they played today. They're not afraid to pull from deep, and we will begin to sink some as time goes on. I see a lot of promise in this team, but we must start rebounding in order to see some major change."

GCU (1-1) will take on the #1 Arizona Wildcats (1-0) in the Antelopes home opener Oct. 31 here in Phoenix.

              October 31st, 2017-Grand Canyon University Basketball-Phoenix, AZ
GCU takes a Halloween beatdown from #1 Arizona 83-40

The Antelopes couldn't get anything going tonight against the #1 Arizona Wildcats. GCU shot 28% from the field, and a startling 2/18 from three. The same issues arose in game #3 of the season, as the Antelopes were outrebounded 42-30.

Coach King said after the game, "I don't care if this is the #1 team in the nation or not, we took an embarrassing L tonight. Luckily we have a three-week break and I am going to run these boys to death."

Freshman Deandre Ayton led the Wildcats with 24 points and 16 rebounds, putting a hurt on the Antelopes. Junior Allonzo Trier had 17 points, and Freshman Emmanuel Akot had 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Senior Keonta Vernon had 8 points and 7 rebounds, Sophomore Oscar Frayer finished with 8 points and 3 rebounds.

King wrapped up the press conference by saying, "We have plenty of time to recover from this loss, and recover we will. We will figure this out, I am sure of it."

The Antelopes take on the #6 Minnesota Golden Gophers at home on Nov. 20.
