The New NBA | What If Edition

With the draft come and went, this dynasty will be from the start of the season.
Please let me know what updates you'd like to see. Along with player stuff.

    - What if the Pelicans didn't get 1st?
    - What if Davis wasn't traded?
    - What if Zion didn't go first?
    - What if the Raptors didn't win the championships?

I will be recapping trades, playoffs, signings etc. I won't control any one specific team...(obviously 30 team control will be on)

If you would like to be in a draft, provide the following:
    Name:
    Position:
    Jersey #:
    Preferred Team:
    Age:
    Hand:

    So with out further adieu....

Top Stories leading up to 2019

        1. Leonard Stays!
The Toronto Raptors have secured SF Kawhi Leonard with a 3 year/$93.40M deal. The Claw has told the fans of Toronto that he loves the city, playing for a competitor and the fans. This really throws a stone in a few teams puddles.

"Theres nowhere else I would want to be. I love it here!"

        2. Josh Jackson out for season!
Phoenix SF Josh Jackson has officially been ruled out for the season after suffering a torn right ACL against the Spurs. With Jackson out, Warren and Oubre Jr will have to hold the team. Jackson was averaging 7 points a game.

        3. Philadelphia leading the East, Golden State leading the West
It is no surprise that the Warriors are winning the West. They currently are 1 game above the Thunder at 29-9, while the 76ers are 2 wins above the Raptrs (29-8)

        4. Race to the bottom
The race for Zion is on! The top 6 contenders (bottom 3 of each conference) are the Knicks (9-28), Kings (9-27), Nets (11-27), Bulls (11-26)Spurs (13-25), & Suns (16-22)

Atlanta makes more moves, Acquires Mills
The Hawks have acquired Patrick Mills in a trade in exchange for Miles Plumlee and a 2021 1st round (Top 3 Protected).
Mills is expected to play 2nd line after Young while the Spurs have got an expiring 12M along with a 1st.

Thunder send off Adams, 2024 1st
In a shocking move, the Thunder have sent their 2024 1st round and Steven Adams (C) to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for SG Malik Monk and C Bismack Biyombo. Biyombo is set to be 2nd string behind Lopez and Monk is also 2nd string behind Andre Roberson.
Adams has voiced frustration with the trade, saying that he will be testing free agency next year. Adams is currently in the starting rotation, but may be moved very soon as the Hornets have Hernangomez and Kaminsky.

Bulls shedding Salary, possible free agent signing?
The Chicago Bulls have acquired two 2nd round picks (2020 and 2024) from the Trail Blazers in exchange for Cristiano Felico (C). The Bulls have Weldell Carter Jr. that has taken over the role, but have lost a solid backup. Felico will backup Nurkic and Collins for the Trail Blazers. The Bulls have freed up $8.16M in cap.

                            December 1st - Jan 1st

                            Mavericks acquire Patterson
The Dallas Mavericks have shipped off SF Thabo Sefolosha in exchange for PF Patrick Patterson. The Patterson acquisition is questionable, as the Mavericks have Porzingis and Kostas Antetokounmpo.
Sefolosha on the other hand will slide right in with the Oklahoma City Thunder to back up Paul George.

                            Jazz, Wizards swap
The Utah Jazz have shipped out their PG Dante Excum, and C Kosta Koufos to the Washington Wizards for Brandon Knight (SG) and 2023 2nd (Bulls).
Knight will serve as a 2nd string behind future superstar Donovan Mitchell.

The Wizards seem to be getting younger as they acquire 24 year old Exum to back up aging John Wall. After this move, Wall may be shipped elsewhere. Koufos will be expiring next year, and was just part of the deal for kicks.

                            Nuggets grab a pick
A few days after acquiring Patterson, the Dallas Mavericks went on to acquire SF Juan Hernangomez from the Denver Nuggets. The Mavericks shipped a 2023 2nd round (Heat) and PG J.J Barea.

The Mavericks figure that Coby White will soon be able to snatch the starting spot, while Jalen Brunson holds it for now. Hernanogomez will be backup to Luka Doncic.

The move was quite questionable for the Nuggets, who now are stocked up at PG. Hopefully the GM has more work ahead of him planned.

                            THIS JUST IN

In a shocking move, a trade between the San Antonio Spurs nd the Oklahoma City Thunder have just been done.

After demanding a trade, the Thunder have traded PG Russell Westbrook and newly acquired SF Thabo Sefolosha to the Spurs for PF Rudy Gay and SF DeMar DeRozan and a 2020 1st round pick (top 3 protected).

Westbrook's contract is atrocious and is not part of the Thunders future. Westbrook had told the GM in confidence that he would like to be gone by January 1st or he would sit out.

With this trade being done, there are so many questions.... Why would the GM get ripped off like this? What will happen to Murray and White.... Will they be moved? Will Westbrook be flipped? Why would OKC take on DeRozan with Paul George on fire? Is there more trades coming?
                            (this was a CPU trade...)

Westbrook has officially been sited playing SG, while Sefolosha has been slotted into the starting spot at SF.
                            DeRozan will wear #33

                              January 1st - Feb 1st

                              Center Swap
The Orlando Magic and Minnesota Timberwolves have exchanged three centers. In order to get rid of some centers, the Timberwolves have sent off Gorgui Dieng and Amir Johnson and acquired Timofey Mozgov. Mozgov is an expiring 16M.
Dieng has two years left on his contract while Amir Johnson was expendable.
Dieng will be the third string behind Bamba and Vucevic.

The Raptors best PF is due for a big payday. He has expressed his interest in resigning, but will the Raps have the cap space?
