    The Future of the NBA

As I've grown up I have always been fascinated by the way the NBA has progressed, as a kid Ray Allen was undoubtedly the greatest three-point shooter and three's were seen much less. Bigs played a huge role for every major franchise and amazing dunks/alley-oops were so good to see. Nowadays, the amazing dunks are regular and don't have much as a wow factor, small ball is prominent and Steph Curry has turned the game on it's head as we see three-point shooting more prominent than two's from some teams. I've always tried to predict the future for an NBA side or even the NBA as a whole and although I haven't had much success, it is always fun watching things pan out.

So I've grabbed my eagerness on the future of the NBA and the ability to jump 80 years down the road in NBA 2K20 and created a save where I can follow all of these happenings and virtually see what will occur in the next 10, 20 to 80 years of NBA.

The way I will run this MyLEAGUE will be slated towards CPU control, as the NBA is very, very unpredictable and unrealistic things happen all the time. I will keep track of stats throughout the season and jump in and play one game a calendar week, just to keep my interest up. I know that as a user on here I'm probably notorious for starting up these great ideas but never playing them out and I have been inactive for some time due to just life being hectic but I would like this to be a dynasty that I continually update and have a lot of stuff sitting on a spreadsheet so even if I go weeks without any updates on here I can always punch it all out when I can after having these things saved on my laptop.

Anyways, this is something new to me as I am used to controlling one team and reporting all about them but I will do my best to keep everyone up to date with the NBA in my dynasty as it plays out. I will include all the basics and vital information in the next post such as settings and sliders etc.

I hope you all enjoy this and I look forward to where this will take me and any readers in the future!

    Goals and Inspiration

I wanted to include to this part to give any readers a bit of a get to know you piece. I play a lot of sports games and keep track of all my dynasties and like to go multiple seasons, but I struggle to write stories about them. I use excel notoriously and keep all of my stats written on there and usually make it through ten-year dynasties with several games such as FIFA, Madden, occasionally NBA 2K and my biggest sports dynasty game being Melbourne Cup Challenge, based on being a horse-racing owner and buying/selling horses and working your way up to owning the best horses and filling out big race cards winning group ones. My goal for this is simple: to continuously play and make it multiple years in the future. I will post monthly updates on the league and give season reviews and previews as well as any other little posts I think will need to be included. At the moment I am not going to use a table of contents for every season's results or important times but if I feel like it is a bit hard to keep track I will add one in this post.

My inspiration for this is quite simple, reading other peoples dynasties gets me hyped up for making my own. Over the christmas period it was quiet at work so I thought I would jump on OS for the first time in ages and went over some of my favourite basketball dynasties. The one I kept coming back to was studbucket's Bringing Back the Buzz: Zo & '92-93 Hornets. If you haven't had a look at it please do, you will not be dissapointed. So originally I wanted to make one restarting the NBA back in the 70's but felt like it would be strange to see all these players I've grown up loving being on different career paths, so I decided to go with the in the future option and hopefully one day I can make my way back in NBA time and retell the happenings of the past.

Any feedback or commentary is welcome and I hope everyone enjoys this idea as much as I will. I'm not going to reserve any posts to keep information as it will be a running dynasty but when I finish up I hope to make a sort of history post having all the major awards and stats over the course of the MyLEAGUE. Up next will be a preview of the 2019-20 season!

      NBA Goat Rankings:

Before we get underway with the preview of the 2019-20 season I wanted to start of with something a bit controversial but also very entertaining if it works well. I have come up with a points like formula for the greatest of all time race and this will be updated every ten years with the top 10 players of all time included and their points. Some players will arguably not deserve their spot due to accolades but this is definitely something different that can change the way I look at certain players' careers and a sort of ranking type list to order some of the greats from every era.

      Version 1:

      1. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1969-1989 / 140 points)
      2. Michael Jordan (1984–1993, 1995–1998, 2001–2003 / 119 points)
      3. Wilt Chamberlain (1959-1973 / 108 points)
      4. LeBron James (2003-present / 102 points)
      5. Tim Duncan (1997-2016 / 82 points)
      6. Shaquille O'Neal (1992-2011 / 75 points)
      7. Bill Russell (1956-1969 / 68 points)
      8. Magic Johnson (1979-1991, 1996 / 67 points)
      9. Hakeem Olajuwon (1984-2002 / 64 points)
      10. Karl Malone (1985-2004 / 55 points)
