They took Game 3, but with Brandon out, KG struggling... they had no chance.

That is a great start for Portland, looks like KG and crew are handled -- Game 3 will be key to see if Minnie can salvage a win, but if they fall there, consider it a done deal for Portland.

If they fall there... it's done! 5-game series in the first round, for a few more years at least. They were able to get a win but it was not enough.

So, Lakers. 2000 rematch.

Kobe and Shaq are, for the lack of a better word, monsters. But I ain't gonna lie, watching Kobe go to work was beautiful. Still can't believe it.

Feels like the Warriors losing the finals last season.. Injury after injury! Hard luck, Lakers were insanely good in those years. No shame in losing to Kobe and Shaq... Infact beating them to the 2 spot in the regular season was a serious achievement... Onto next year and tinker with that roster!

Great to see the Magic fulfilling their potential, I'm guessing Grant Hill stayed healthy so far!

Lot of good free agents around this summer for you to hopefully swing a sign and trade for somebody. What area's are you looking to upgrade?

Oh, that's tough. But your team still managed to make it to 6 games beat up in so many ways ... so take heart in that. This offseason will be a prime time to reshuffle the deck and maybe swing a trade or two to get you over the top, looking forward to your moves.


As for the playoffs, LA vs SA and ORL vs PHI ... hard to see either SA or ORL pulling off the upset, though McGrady -- when hot -- could put up Iverson numbers. If McGrady can duel Iverson to a stalemate and Grant Hill can carry more than usual, the Magic could pull off the upset. Not sure if San Antonio can against Shaq and Kobe.

The Kobe and Shaq duo got the last laugh. Can't do much about that. Looks like a 76ers/Lakers final could happen here just like IRL, so at least this was pretty realistic.

Really excited for your offseason.

No shame in losing to the champions, I guess; it was still a great season. Time to retool the roster now. Grant Hill only missed a couple of games, I think the Magic have what it takes to reach the Finals rather sooner than later. Oh, thanks a lot for that link! I think I'm gonna take today off and edit those salaries.

Upgrades, well, it's a tough situation going forward. I think this was the season to go out and win the trophy. I like Stoudamire and Hudson at the point plus Smith and Wells at SGs, but Hudson and Wells will ask for a lot of money in a couple of years and I'm not sure about making that commitment. If I can squeeze a 03/04 first round pick for Wells, I think I'm pulling the trigger.

Small forwards -- Pippen is now 36, he's obviously declining; Schrempf retired, while Augmon's offense is completely non-existent. I think I'm gonna search for an offensive backup forward. Inside -- Sheed and Kemp can stay for another season, so do Arvydas and Jermaine. But I might need an extra big man.
