Re: SIXERS (NBA 2K20)
Pre-Season / October Recap:I could waffle on here about the 76ers pre-season/off-season but whats the point? You all know how the team sits, im not going to fiddle with it... we have a solid starting 5, little wiggle room on cap and decent depth that should see us through in the race to make the playoffs.
This is our Starting 5 (no surprises here...)
And apologies this is going to be a brief recap as we only played 4 games this month. First up, a home opener and a big challenge against Boston, a team that is likely to be a contender in the Conference.
vs Boston 115-133 (L)
The reality was the Celtics came to Philly and danced all over us, took a big lead early and although Simmons netted 32pts and Embiid put up a 16pt/17reb showing, we were beaten handsomely with Walker, Brown and Tatum all draining 20+ en route to a Boston 133-115 win.
@ Detroit 102-90 (W)
That was a warning shot fired across our bow and we took that on the road, first off beating the Pistons 102-90 thanks to Simmons (28pts) and Harris 22pts / 10reb) going wild in the 2nd+3rd quarters as we came out of that with a +24 difference.
@ Atlanta 97-118 (L)
Then as we looked to put together a run, the Hawks sat us right back down again. Embiid did some work with 27pts and 14 boards, but Trae Young went nuts and top scored with 42 as the Hawks routed us 118-97.
vs Memphis 101-99 (W)
We did end the month on a high, literally! It took us until the final bucket of the game to put the Grizzlies away in a back and forth encounter at Wells Fargo. For most of the 4th we looked dead, then Josh Richardson found his shooting range as he dropped 12 in the quarter (30 total) that helped setup a last second Ben Simmons dunk to down our guests.

Re: SIXERS (NBA 2K20)
November Recap (Part 1):
We head into November at .500, but with a 4 game road trip ahead as we would hit the West Coast and... well...
@ Portland 112-107 (W)
The Trailblazers were first and we would take our winning run to 2, Simmons continued with the hot hand scoring 32, whilst he and Embiid both pulled in 13 boards as we held firm against Lillard (28pts) in a late Portland rally.
@ Phoenix 104-110 (L)
Simmons again scored well, but it wasnt enough to hold off the Suns as Booker (30pts), Ayton (18) top scored for the hosts, as Ricky Rubio pulled the strings with a 10 assist outing. Richardson found his form a little once more but we were always chasing our tails and fall back to 3-3.
@ Utah 108-123 (L)
Things got worse as the Jazz played their tune, racing ahead and staying there as although Simmons continued his scoring run, Utah had little to worry about with Embiid, Horford and Richardson continuing to fluctuate between good and bad.
@ Denver 122-137 (L)
Now its serious, we finish up the West coast trip 1-3 as Denver took us apart in the 2nd half. Embiid played himself back into 'himself' scoring 31pts as we looked the part through the opening quarters, but then it became the Murray show. He scored 35pts total (21 2nd half) whilst Jokic would dominate the boards as we again came up short at both ends of the court.
Back in Philly for a 2 game stint and at 3-5 the reality is, we are falling way short of expectations...
vs Charlotte 131-72 (W)
The 2-7 Hornets arrived in Philly and would wish they hadnt, there would be nothing for them to hold on to from tonights outing as a 59pt loss coming close to the league record as the Sixers piled on the punishment.
7 players would score double digits, as Burks, Korkmuz and Robinson III came off the bench hot and continued to beat down the desperate Hornets.
vs Cleveland 119-101 (W)
Home court advantage comes home to roost as we go big again, Embiid with 30 and Harris a season high 28 led us to a comfortable win over the Cavs. Andre Drummond would compete well with Embiid off the boards, but our all round scoring moved us back to 5-5 and into playoff contention once more.
@ Orlando 126-94 (W)
After 3 straight road defeats we finally put things back in order as the Magic are undone as Embiid goes big once more with 35/15, backed up by Simmons as he again puts up 30+ points from a hot hand. The Magic had little in response but will look at the efforts from Mo Bamba as a minor positive in a heavy home loss.

Re: SIXERS (NBA 2K20)
For a non basketball expert you're starting off very well! Like the layout and presentation! Good team choice! I was very close to picking the 76ers myself but in 1995-96, the year before they draft Iverson. I would love to see A.I make some sort of appearance in your story in the future!Comment

Maybe you can entice A.I to Canada at some pointComment

November Recap (Part 2):
We head into the back end of the month looking forward to a 3 game home stand and a favourable looking schedule, with losing teams in our path. At 6-5 going into this stretch, we need to push ourselves well above .500 as all but a quarter of the campaign will be over once we finish up against the Pacers.
@ Oklahoma City 95-84 (W)
A trip to the Thunder looked to be tricky but Chris Paul fell cold early and barely came out of his freeze. This allowed us to put together a quick scoring run, with both Horford and Richardson excelling with their outside shooting. The Thunder had little to respond with and we could see this one out with our bench.
@ Cleveland 125-101 (W)
We had already beat the Cavs earlier this month and a trip to Ohio wouldnt faze us, as Embiid and Simmons topped up once more as we easily outscored the Cavaliers and would head home on the back of a 5 game winning streak.
vs New York 92-108 (L)
What happened here? Well we let R.J. Barrett dominate the ball as the teenage sensation took us apart and the young Knicks would strangle us. Robinson dominated the boards, so much so that the Knicks had 17 offensive rebounds and a +20 total. Couple that with 40pts from the Knicks bench and it was a good night for them, bad for us.
vs San Antonio 139-104 (W)
The Spurs are not 'The Spurs' at the moment and as we found our range, shooting almost 60% from the field, it became a rout. Embiid held off Aldridge all night, scoring 30 in a double-double showing. Simmons put up 27 and with Harris, Richardson and Horford all contributing 10+ points it was a good way to get back into the 'W' column.
vs Miami 117-118 (L)
You come home and you hope for at least 2 wins from the 3. Yet the Heat (and ex-Sixer Jimmy Butler) took over at Wells Fargo and bar a late spurt from us, had the game in their hands. We were down 12 going into the 4th on the back of 15 turnovers, yet a rally had us within 1 but it was never going to be as Simmons triple-double would go to waste.
@ Toronto 122-110 (W)
Champs or Chumps? It was the latter tonight as we came to play and at one point opened up a whopping 31pt lead. Toronto rallied but lets be honest it was never going to be close, Embiid top scored once more, whilst Harris and Horford continued to shoot well outside the paint.
vs Sacramento 124-105 (W)
The Kings were dethroned as Embiid continued to dominate the league, scoring a season high 39pts as the Kings had no answer to him. We continue to spread the scoring around as Harris drains 24, whilst Simmons sinks 20.
@ New York 128-76 (W)
Revenge is on our minds here and we certainly did that, beating the Knicks by over 50pts as we put on a show at the Garden. We again sat behind the scoring of Simmons and Embiid, but shout outs to contributions from Robinson III and Thybulle who kept their foot on the gas to squash the Knicks on their own court.
vs Indiana 111-84 (W)
Unlucky for some but not for us, as the Pacers become our 13th victim this year as we outpace them through 4 quarters. Horford had a season best 25pts / 16reb night, Harris again chipped in with a comfortable 18 and although Sabonis impressed with a double-double for Indiana, we held them at distance throughout the night.

Re: SIXERS (NBA 2K20)
December Recap (Part 1):
Things begin to get serious this month as come the end of the year, we will all but be halfway through the regular season. The importance of maintaining our winning record is now overshadowed by our race to finish as high a seed as possible. December puts Toronto, Boston and Brooklyn on our plate, all 3 teams potentially contending with us in a tricky East.
vs Utah 133-112 (W)
We lost in Utah so things had to be put right when they arrived in Philly. The players knew that and Tobias Harris continued his rennaisance with a 35pt show, as he led us to a key win, taking our streak to 5.
@ Washington 81-114 (L)
The Wizards are alright yet we should have really extended our winning run, alas Bradley Beal and John Wall took control as in the end we lacked on offense, with Ben Simmons eerily quiet and our bench proving non existent.
vs Cleveland 103-96 (W)
Our 3rd soiree with the Cavs and tonight they would push us to our limit, leaving us needing a crazy 10-0 run to end the matchup to secure a 7pt win. We would ride the hot hand of Ben Simmons as he would score 8 of the 10, putting up 32 for the night, as the efforts of Sexton (28pts) would be for little.
vs Toronto 121-114 (W)
After stuffing the Raptors in Canada, the defending Champs' would finally put some bite into their game as we were once again pushed all the way at the Wells Fargo Center. This time we survived a late rally led by Lowry and Ibaka to hold onto a win, thanks in the main to our season high 41pt 1st quarter.
vs Denver 118-123 (L)
This looked close but it was more for the Nuggets riding their bench to finish the game. Why you ask? Well they put up 70 thru the opening quarters and led by 35 at the break as a stunned Philly crowd began to empty out. To our credit we turned things around but came up short as time expired.
@ Boston 104-111 (L)
Back to back defeats as a test of our credentials took a lick against the Celtics. Walker drove Boston forward and although Simmons sank 39pts and Embiid put up a 19/19 double-double, we would come away with a 'L' and a need to review our situation.
vs New Orleans 105-106 (L)
This one stings, we should be better at home and better against the Pelicans. Zion proved to be the star for our guests, but it was Ingram who would drain a game winning 3pt shot with just seconds remaining. We had a chance to win out, but with Simmons crowded out, Richardson threw up a brick and thats 3 straight losses.
@ Brooklyn 114-97 (W)
How we came out of this one ill never know. It should have been 4 defeats on the spin as the Nets started out hitting everything and anything they tried. But our game management turned things around and an almost perfect 4th quarter saw us chase the Nets off their own court as Simmons continues to gear up his bid for League MVP.

Re: SIXERS (NBA 2K20)
Really tough December. 4-4. Need to get some consistency in January. Like DeMarcus to the Spurs, maybe they can reignite his career! Any 76ers trade rumors....Comment
