    Around the League Dec 9th

    News and Notes

-NCAA will participate in an ALL-STAR game similar to the NBA format voting is open to the public currently and millions of votes are flooding in. Cj Walker do it all power forward form Oregon leads in the west and is the projected captain there, shooting guard Myles Hanson from Xavier is both the highest scorer in the league and the front runner for captain in the eastern conference.

    - Notre dame is sliding hard after losing their last 9 out of 10. USC fairs even worse in the western conference and is the only team in the league without a single win as the calendar marches towards 2022.

-3pt% are down across the league as teams struggle to shoot from the deeper NBA 3pt line Maryland leads the league shooting 38% on 10 attempts a game While the bruins are in last place on just 20% shooting on the same 10 attempts.

-Kentucky is out rebounding teams by a ridiculous margin so far averaging 35 boards a game 5 more than the next closest Oregon Ducks.

-In recruiting news SG Cade Cunningham is the top prize out of California word is the Cardinals, Kentucky, and Oregon are all pushing hard for a visit.

-Evan Mobley the 7' tall center is also a highly regarded recruit and news out of Durham is that he is interested in playing for coach K.

      5 game RECAP games 6-10

      Results (7-3)
Game 1: Kentucky VS Georgia WIN 67-29
Game 2: Kentucky VS Baylor WIN 73-38
Game 3: Kentucky VS UConn LOSS 52-56
      Game 4: Kentucky @ Syracuse WIN 80-50
      Game 5: Kentucky @ Xavier WIN 81-59
**Going to mess with sliders for the next five in ten games I either blow the other team out or lose a low scoring nobody plays well game. I'm happy with the output from my team I like to play games around 60-80 just going to bump all the CPU sliders a bit see if I can make things a bit more competitive in the next 5.

      Cal's Corner
Great five game stretch by our young MEN. They came off the win against Auburn and went on an absolute tear defensively. Steals and blocks galore just absolute effort. All the way up to the game against UConn where the Huskies showed they were just hungrier than we were. This team is giving me strong 2012 vibes lately. The balance we have is unreal and that is what set that special squad apart. Anthony Davis only took 8 shots a game and if you look Tyrese is only averaging 10 a game. With Nick defending the rim and Ashton and 'Manny locking guys down on the perimeter we have the makings of a special team here in Lexington this year.

      Game 1 VS Georgia
Playing against a conference rival and a projected top 3 draft pick in a couple of years in Anthony Edwards our guys showed they were ready to make a leap. 'Manny continued to play great basketball and had a great all around game while contributing to shutting down Edwards throughout the game he only finished with 5 points on 1-6 shooting. Ashton had a strong game setting up his teammates and swiping hard at the ball whenever he saw an opening finishing with 6 assists and 3 steals. Shooting continues to be a struggle we went 3-11 in this one. Gotta find someone who can make a shot when we need it.
      Cal's top Cat:
      Immanuel Quickly PG, 12pts, 3rebs, 6asts, 3-3FT.

      Game 2 VS Baylor
Baylor tried everything they could to take this game away from our guys in the first half but they stayed focused they didn't get tight and they lined up behind our leaders. Tyrese and 'Manny made big bucket after big buckt and finally we got the shooting we have been looking for! 7-16 from deep! Johnny finally woke up and showed why we brought him to Lexington. Dontaie got in and showed me he wants some more minutes and is willing to show out for them. Nick Richards was the dominant defensive force in this game leading the way with 15 FIFTEEN boards and 3 blocks. Our defense completely locked Baylor down in the 3rd quarter and sparked a 22-4 run. Proud of our guys after this one.
      Cal's Top Cat: Nick Richards C, 8pts, 15rebs, 3blks, 4-7FG's.

      Game 3: @ UConn
Too much winning is never a bad thing. But getting complacent is. Our guys kept waiting for the run in this one instead of reaching out and grabbing it for themselves. WE gave up 34 points in the first half alone and they played harder than us managing 11 STOCKS vs our 4. Not going to win games when we are losing that battle. Proud of the guys for battling in the 4th and we actually won that quarter. But to little to late this time.
      Cal's Top Cat: Ashton Hagans PG, 9pts, 6rebs, 5asts, 1stl.

      Game 4 @ Syracuse
Ashton continued to be the spoon that stirs the drink here. I am so proud of his consistent work from the lead guard spot. Always prioritizing getting his teammates involved instead of hunting his own shot. Staying efficient and doing what it takes to win. Syracuse is always a tough team with their zone defense but our boys were prepared and stayed aggressive throughout. Our highest scoring game of the season and there is no arguing with a 30 point road win. Happy to see strong games out of Johnny and Dontaie we are going to need their shooting in the tournament and I want them confident and ready to take their shots when they come.
      Cal's Top Cat: Tyrese Maxey SG, 14pts, 8rebs, 3asts, 3stls.

      Game 5 @ Xavier
Xavier was without their top scorer in this game Myles Hanson who is the top scorer in the entire league right now and it showed. Hanson missed the last few games due to a suspension issue. But our guys came out and scored as if he was going to come in any minute and light us up. We exploded in the 4th quarter for 29 points and closed the game out in a way that was aggressive and exactly how I've been encouraging them to play all season. I think this was our best shooting game of the year we hit all 5 of our deep tries and Tyrese went 3-3 on his shots. We played hard the whole game and managed to finish this stretch with our 4th win in 5 tries. Tyrese is really stepping up these last couple of games and we think we are going to have a very special few years with him here in Lexington. He is a star folks and he gets better every day. six SIX steals in this game.
      Cal's Top Cat: Tyrese Maxey SG, 25pts, 3asts, 6stls, 3-3 3pt.
