Giants Run Past Bengals 33-28
The Giants came from behind in the 4th Quarter of Sunday's game to pull off the victory as Eli Manning showed total control of his offense. Palmer put up some decent stats, throwing 4 TD's and 2 INTs for 291 yards. The running game was weak, with RJ running for less than 100 yards, and the defense couldn't seem to stop the Giants at all in the 2nd half. The Bengals seemed frustrated last night. Hopefully next week's game against the Browns will show more promise.
Bengals Squeak Past Titans 17-15
It was a long night for QB Carson Palmer, throwing for only 76 yards and an INT. And defensively it was a gritty matchup that brought the best out of both sides. In the end it was Rudi Johnson rushing for 2 TDs that propelled the Bengals past the Titans. So far we've seen good things from Wilson's Silver Fox offense. But considering all the offensive talent the Bengals have, it appears as if the Silver Fox isn't living up the hype quite yet. Rome wasn't built in a day though, so keep your eyes here for all Bengals news!
Bengals Fall in Devastating Loss to Baltimore
This weekend Coach Wilson found out about the tribulations of being a head coach in the NFL as the Bengals fell to the Ravens 37-34 in Overtime. Now, it wasn't a blowout as many analysts prognosticated it would be. But it was by no means a game to write home about. Carson Palmer threw for 432 yards, 4 TD's and 2 INT's, putting together an impressive performance. In the end it was the failure to execute that made Cincy's 20 point lead dissolve. Wilson's Silver Fox offense does show a lot of promise though, as does Carson Palmer now that he has Wilson to guide him.

Interview With Head Coach Jared Wilson
ESPN: Coach Wilson, thank you for agreeing to sit down for this interview.
JW: Don't mention it, I love you guys.
ESPN: Coach, this is a big move for you. You have no coaching experience, and you've been out of the game for about ten years now. How do you think you can impact this floundering team?
JW: The same way I impacted a floundering Denver Broncos team. I'm going to bring to the table a new approach, I'm going to run a different style of offense. Something the NFL hasn't seen before. Totally original. This team is strapped to the teeth with talent, we simply have to find a way to utilize that talent, and we'll have a winner.
ESPN: Obviously you're an expert on being a quarterback. You have hall of fame statistics, and stories of your leadership are still being used as the example of excellence in the league today. Will you pass on your wisdom and hope to rub off on Carson Palmer?
JW: Absolutely. I want Carson to be better than I could have ever hoped of being.
ESPN: That's a mighty big order to fill, coach.
JW: I wouldn't set the bar if I didn't feel it was attainable.
ESPN: Well, coach, we here at ESPN wish you the best of luck with the upcoming season, and we hope to hear from you again soon. Thank you.
Lewis Fired, Wilson Hired in Cincy
Let's take a trip back to 1999. It's the Super Bowl, Denver against Seattle. It's been a defensive battle, and Seattle leads it 14-10 with 2:00 left in the 4th, Denver on their own 30 yard line. Star quarterback Lee Armstrong takes a massive hit from defensive tackle Razor Williams. Who steps in? "Mr. Dependable" himself, Jared Wilson. He drops back for the second play of the drive, and we see the poise and cunning that Wilson was drafted for 19 years earlier. We see the pinpoint accuracy that led Denver, Green Bay, and Arizona to Super Bowls with him as their quarterback. We see the confidence in the pocket that helped him earn 3 MVP awards and 4 prior Super Bowl rings. Now, granted, at this point, his arm had lost almost all steam as far as power goes, and his mobility was shot, but he was sharp as ever, and led Denver down the field for the game-winning touchdown. It was his last hurrah, his final moment in the sun. Or so we thought.
Flash forward to 2009 now. It's a different league, but it somehow has remained the same in many aspects. And one thing that has definitely remained the same in this time, is that the Bengals are struggling. Marvin Lewis has been a great defensive mind for this team, and it's shown glimmers of hope, and even dominance, but has all amounted to virtually nothing.
So Cincy gave him the boot, much to the dismay of the city and to the delight of star wideout Chad Ocho Cinco. And now, early this morning, after being very "hush hush" about it, the Bengals shocked the football world and announced the signing of former MVP and Super Bowl champion Jared Wilson as their head coach. He's promised to bring the Bengals back to their former dominance of the 1980's and beyond. In his own words, he's promised, "great things". Well, if he can deliver as well as the last time he promised great things, then this should indeed be a very interesting move by the Bengals.
ESPN hopes to get an exclusive interview with the new head coach, and possibly Chad Ocho Cinco. Stay tuned!
(Yes, Jared Wilson was my NFL Superstar in Madden 2006)
This page still has a lot of work to be done on it, I plan on adding more when I get home. For now though, any feedback on the article would be much appreciated.!
