A Mike Chan Dynasty (Part 1: The pride of the red and gold)

So after a horrendous fail a few months ago, I decide to take on a new dynasty, and this time as the 49iners!

    Jan. 30, 2008

San Francisco, CA- After three years in the bay area, the Mike Nolan experiment is over. CEO Jed York, after a one-week investigation of the state of the team, called for Nolan in a closed door meeting and gave him the pink slip.

"Today we decide it is time to move to a new direction" the team's official press release said. "We thank Mike's efforts and contributions to the franchise's success."

Nolan was signed in 2005, and had a 16-32 record in three seasons with no appearances in the playoffs.

      February 14, 2008

San Francisco, CA - Mike Chan has been hired as the sixteenth 49iners head coach.

On a beautiful afternoon, Chan was formally introduced to the media as the NFL's first asian-american head coach.

"We're excited to bring in Mike as the head coach for our organization" addressed CEO Jed York in the conference. "We have heard nothing but great things about him and we hope he can bring nothing but success to the 49iners."

York also stated that Chan be given more general management powers that will be shared with GM Josh McColout in the season.

"I am very excited to be part of the 49iners" Chan replied. "I hope that by bringing in a more run-oriented offense we can be more potent for many years to come."

Chan, a chinese himself, is causing a immediate buzz in the San Francisco area, one of the largest of Asian immigrants.

He had once served as Head Coach for the Bellevue Wolverines before selected today.
