Seahawks Wrap Up Day 1 Of '08 Draft

The Seattle Seahawks finished Day 1 of the 2008 NFL Draft as one of the most active teams throughout the day. The 'Hawks made many trades, and in the end, ended up with 3 2nd round picks, trading out of the 1st round, and using their 2nd round picks to trade down to gain more picks-and still got who they wanted.

Although the Seahawks had reportedly considered selecting Kenny Phillips with their 1st round pick, they decided they could get value later in the draft and traded out of the 1st round. After the dust had settled, the Seahawks walked away with 3 selections in the 2nd round: Louisville QB Brian Brohm, Miami DE Calais Campbell, and Rutgers RB Ray Rice. But the Seahawks also now own three 3rd round picks and four 4th round picks, as well as many other late round picks. We'll keep you updated on Day 2 for the Seahawks in the 2008 NFL Draft.

Seahawks Wrap Up Day 2, Sign 5 UDFA'S

The Seattle Seahawks finished Day 2 of the 2008 NFL Draft grabbing lots of potential starters and sleepers, and also signed 5 undrafted Free Agents to 1 year contracts.

In the 3rd round, the Seahawks were very active, and actually traded up for once. In the end, they picked 3 players in the 3rd round: Miami MLB Tavares Gooden, Maryland DT Dre Moore, and Texas TE Jermichael Finley.

In the 4th round, the Seahawks were once again active wheeling and dealing, and came away with 2 picks in the 4th round: LSU Safety Craig Steltz, and Louisville WR Harry Douglas.

The Seahawks traded out of the 5th round, but got back in the game in the 6th round, selecting 3 players: Weber State Guard David Hale, Iowa State DT Athya Rubin, and NW Missouri State RB Xavier Omon.

In the 7th round, the Seahawks selected 3 players: Oregon State Kicker Alexis Serna, Auburn FB Carl Stewart, and Bloomsburg RB Jamaal Buckingham.

The team signed 5 undrafted Free Agents: Nebraska OLB Barry Redd, Hawaii WR Ryan Grice Mullen, NW Missouri State TE Mike Peterson, and Army SS Caleb Campbell.

Our insider says that 'Hawks coach Nathan Marra's only regret in the draft was that they weren't able to take Washington State QB Alex Brink in the 6th round-something they were going to do before the Steelers selected him one pick before the Seahawks.

Here is the full draftee list of the Seahawks:

2nd round: Calais Campbell, DE, Miami
2nd round: Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville
2nd round: Ray Rice, RB, Rutgers
3rd round: Tavares Gooden, MLB, Miami
3rd round: Dre Moore, DT, Maryland
3rd round: Jermichael Finley, TE, Texas
4th round: Craig Steltz, SS, LSU
4th round: Harry Douglas, WR, Louisville
6th round: David Hale, OG, Weber State
6th round: Athya Rubin, DT, Iowa State
6th round: Xavier Omon, RB, NW Missouri State
7th round: Alexis Serna, K, Oregon State
7th round: Jamaal Buckingham, RB, Bloomsburg
7th round: Carl Stewart, FB, Auburn

Looks like your going to have a good team this season, looking forward to more.

Only worry is at Saftey i think, Hamlin is better at SS hes a good blitzer, good in run support but can't hold up in man coverage too well, TE's and slot WR's may give you trouble.

But overall I like what you have your only challange will the the Rams (sometimes they are great sometimes they suck) but your in the hunt for the playoffs from the start in your divison
