    Re: Just Win Baby!

Same thing happened to me. Hammermill got Joe Kain (top QB in the 1st year of the Ozzie draft) and the team has been dominant every year. It didn't help that he also had McFadden.

Wow nearly 2000 yards. And 21 sacks. Talk about some wonky stats.

      Wild Card Games

      Cowboys (11-5) @ Vikings (10-6)

This one was a back and forth game with the Vikings scoring first. The Cowboys tied it up and took the lead in the 2nd. They extended their lead in the 3rd. The Vikings comeback in the 4th but it is too little too late. The Cowboys advance. DAL 21 MIN 17

      Titans (13-3) @ Patriots (12-4)

Horrible play by TEN QB Vince Young insures that the Titans would lose this one. The Patriots play solid if unspectacular football to advance. TEN 17 NE 27

      Eagles (11-5) @ Seahawks (8-8)

This one was a shoot out with over 75 points scored between the two teams. Donovan McNabb and Matt Hasselbeck accounted for over 700yds passing and 7 TDs. The Eagles started strong scoring 27 points in the first half. The Seahawks charged back in the 2nd half, but in the end just didn't have enough time to seal the deal. PHI 41 SEA 35

      Steelers (10-6) @ Raiders (13-3)

In their last meeting the Steelers handled the Raiders easily. HC Joslin hopes some adjustments will produce a different result this time around.

      1st Quarter

Oakland's defense comes up big when CB DeAngelo Hall intercepts PIT QB Ben Roethlisberger and goes 34yds for the TD

      OAK 7 PIT 0

Pittsburgh settles for a 25yd FG after running into a brick wall.

      OAK 7 PIT 3

      2nd Quarter

OAK HB Justin Fargas continues to baffle the nay sayers going for a 17yd TD

      OAK 14 PIT 3

      3rd Quarter

Mistakes by both teams kill scoring drives in the 3rd Quarter.

      4th Quarter

PIT QB Ben Roethlisberger finds WR Hines Ward for a 27yd TD. They go for the 2pt Conversion but come up short.

      OAK 14 PIT 9

OAK backup HB Chris Johnson shows off his speed on a 41yd end around TD.

      OAK 21 PIT 9

OAK MLB Akin Ayodele kills Pittsburghs hopes of a comeback when he recovers a fumble and goes 26yds for the TD.

      OAK 28 PIT 9

OAK tacks on a 23yd FG by K Matt Prater, returning the favor of running up the score...just like Steelers HC Mike Tomlin did in their last meeting.

      OAK 31 PIT 9 Final

      Key Performers:

OAK QB Ken Dorsey 17/36 for 168yds
PIT QB Ben Roethlisberger 5/21 for 80yds TD, 4 INTs

OAK HB Justin Fargas 16 runs for 109yds TD
PIT HB Willie Parker 23 runs for 46yds

OAK WR Kevin Robinson 5 catches for 53yds
PIT WR Hines Ward 1 catch for 27yds TD

OAK CB DeAngelo Hall 3 tackles, 2 INTs, TD
PIT LB Lamar Woodley 8 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 Sacks

Time of Possession: PIT 27:11/32:48 OAK

        Divisional Week

        Patriots (13-4) @ Colts (14-2)

Brady vs. Manning, does it get any better? Peyton Manning had the better game, taking control early and never really letting up. Brady led his team to some 4th quarter heroics, but it was too little too late. NE 17 IND 38

        Cowboys (12-5) @ Giants 12-4)

The Giants started out strong putting up 31 first half points. Dallas QB Tony Romo lead a comeback in the 4th quarter, putting up 21 unanswered points. Unfortunately, the Cowboys were just too far behind. DAL 28 NYG 34

        Eagles (12-5) @ Buccaneers (12-4)

Jon Gruden and the Buccaneers over perform as always putting up a steady 7 points a quarter and ending with 17 in the 4th. The Eagles are more erratic and are never really in this one after the first quarter. PHI 17 TB 38

        Raiders (14-3) @ Ravens (14-2)

The Raiders handled the Ravens easily to end the season and look to do the same in the post season.

        1st Quarter

OAK HB Justin Fargas takes the pitch and goes 15yds for a TD

        OAK 7 BAL 0

The Ravens settle for a K Lawrence Tynes FG

        OAK 7 BAL 3

        2nd Quarter

An interception by OAK QB Ken Dorsey sets up a last second FG by BAL K Lawrence Tynes.

OAK 7 BAL 6 at the half

        3rd Quarter

Backup HB Chris Johnson slips a tackle to make a 5yd TD run.

        OAK 14 BAL 6

OAK HB Justin Fargas explodes for a 22yd TD run.

        OAK 21 BAL 6

        4th Quarter

The Ravens don't show any urgency settling for a Tynes FG

        OAK 21 BAL 9

A great punt by OAK P Shane Lechler sets up the defense to get the Safety!

        OAK 23 BAL 9

The Raiders turn the free kick into points when rookie backup HB Jamel Keddington goes in for a 3yd TD

        OAK 30 BAL 9

The Ravens look unstoppable in the 2 minute drill, scoring on a short pass from rookie QB Luke Rambis to WR G. Smiley.

        OAK 30 BAL 16

The Ravens kick the onside kick, but the Raiders recover. The Raiders run the ball and clock, and after a couple of first downs, take 3 kneel downs to end the game.

OAK 30 BAL 16 Final! Raiders advance to the AFC Conference Game to challenge the Indianapolis Colts

        Key Performers

OAK QB Ken Dorsey 6/12 for 63yds 3 INTs (Dorsey was benched in the 3rd Quarter)
BAL QB Luke Rambis (R) 24/40 for 300yds TD, 2 INTs

OAK HB Justin Fargas 33 runs for 214yds 2 TDs
BAL HB Warrick Dunn 3 runs for -1yd

OAK WR Ronald Curry 2 catches for 30yds
BAL WR G. Smiley 7 catches for 53yds TD

OAK SS Ken Hamlin 10 tackles, 4 TFL, 4 Sacks, Safety
BAL OLB David Vobora 6 tackles, 3 TFL, Sack

Time of Possession: OAK 33:15/26:41 BAL

          Conference Week

          Buccaneers (13-4) @ Giants (13-4)

Backup QB Brodie Croyle wastes no time showing his skills, throwing for over 300 yards and setting up HB Shaun Alexander and Ernest Graham for 3 TDs. Giants QB Eli Manning kept up in the first half, but with no run game to speak of, the Giants soon too far behind to catch up. TB 27 NYG 10

          Raiders (15-3) @ Colts (15-2)

QB Ken Dorsey vs. QB Peyton Manning...doesn't seem like much of a matchup, but the Raiders are hoping their run game can help even the odds.

          1st Quarter

IND QB Peyton Manning gives the Raiders their first score when he is intercepted by OAK CB Nnamdi Asomugha, who returns it 38yds for a TD

          OAK 7 IND 0

          2nd Quarter

Neither team can manage a score in the 2nd. Indianapolis' OLine is proving to be a poor matchup for the Raiders DLine. On the other side, QB Ken Dorsey is shooting himself in the foot.

          3rd Quarter

Backup HB Chris Johnson shows off his speed on a 50yd TD run.

          OAK 14 IND 0

          4th Quarter

The Raiders add a 42yd FG

          OAK 17 IND 0

IND QB Peyton Manning tries to bring the Colts back into the game, but can't seem to connect on third downs.

OAK 17 IND 0 Final- The Raiders will face the Buccaneers in the Super Bowl

          Key Performers

OAK QB Ken Dorsey 6/16 for 77yds 2 INTs
IND QB Peyton Manning 21/31 for 261yds, INT

OAK HB Justin Fargas 28 runs for 105yds
IND HB Joseph Addai 10 runs for 19yds

OAK WR David Tyree 3 catches for 50yds
IND WR Reggie Wayne 7 catches for 126yds

OAK DE Victor Abiamiri 8 tackles, 5 TFL, 4 Sacks
IND LB Freddie Keiaho 8 tackles, 2 TFL, INT

Time of Possession: OAK 32:48/27:06 IND

            Buccaneers (14-4) vs. Raiders (16-3)

            1st Quarter

QB Brian Griese finds WR R. Conley for an 8yd TD

            TB 7 OAK 0

Oakland responds with a 62yd TD run by HB Justin Fargas.

            TB 7 OAK 7

QB Brian Griese gets knocked out of the game, but backup QB Brodie Croyle steps in and finds WR Maurice Stovall for a 65yd TD.

            TB 14 OAK 7

OAK HB Justin Fargas tops himself with a 70yd TD run.

            TB 14 OAK 14

Oakland makes it to the goaline, when QB Ken Dorsey does what every Raider fan has come to dread, he throws a pick. TB CB Mike Jenkins returns it 88yds for a TD!

TB 21 OAK 14- 35 points scored in the 1st quarter! Where is the defense?

            2nd Quarter

OAK HB Justin Fargas is knocked out of the game, but the Raiders Run Game doesn't miss a beat when backup HB Chris Johnson runs 34yds right up the gut for a TD.

            TB 21 OAK 21

OAK rookie backup HB Jamel Keddington does his part with a 7yd TD run.

            TB 21 OAK 28

An ill-advised pass by OAK QB Ken Dorsey results in another interception. QB Brodie Croyle turns it into a TD when he finds WR Maurice Stovall for a 68yd play.

TB 28 OAK 28 at the half

            3rd Quarter

Neither team can manage a score in the 3rd. Although the Buccaneers seem to have lost their mojo with Brodie Croyle killing two potential scoring drives with interceptions.

            4th Quarter

Oakland HC Ken Joslin decides to settle for a 30yd FG, rather than try to convert on the 4th and 2.

            TB 28 OAK 31

OAK SS Ken Hamlin intercepts TB QB Brodie Croyle and returns it 32yds for a TD.

            TB 28 OAK 38

The Raiders seal the deal when they block a punt and Chris Johnson recovers the kick in the endzone for a TD!

            TB 28 OAK 45

The Buccaneers try to comeback, but do it in a very halfhearted fashion, unwilling to go for it on 4th downs. Halfhearted measures don't win games and the Buccaneers don't win this one.

TB 28 OAK 45 Final! The Raiders have won back to back Super Bowls!

            Key Performers

OAK QB Ken Dorsey 6/17 for 76yds 2 INTs
TB QB Brian Griese 5/7 for 88yds TD
TB QB Brodie Croyle 6/21 for 189yds 2 TDs, 3 INTs

OAK HB Justin Fargas 9 runs for 170yds 2 TDs
OAK HB Chris Johnson 23 runs for 130yds TD, Blocked Punt, Blocked Kick Recovery TD
TB HB Ernest Graham 5 runs for -14yds

OAK TE Zach Miller 5 catches for 60yds
TB WR Maurice Stovall 3 catches for 131yds 2 TDs

OAK MLB Akin Ayodele 9 tackles, 7 TFL, 5 Sacks, INT
TB DE Antwan Odom 4 tackles, 3 TFL, 3 Sacks

Time of Possession: TB 21:24/38:32 OAK

Raiders sack QB Coach Don Miraldi

QB Coach Don Miraldi has been fired by the Raiders. Owner/GM Al Davis felt a change needed to be made. The Raiders excelled throughout the season, with the exception being in QB Play. It is hard to deny that QB Ken Dorsey's play dropped off dramatically this season and just got worse as the season progressed. In the playoffs, QB Ken Dorsey had a QB Rating in the 30's.

GM Davis and HC Joslin hope to fix this problem, by hiring former NFL QB Jeff Garcia to be their new QB Coach.

"We are very excited to bring Jeff aboard. He's new to coaching, but we think he will add a lot to our coaching staff and team.", said Coach Joslin.

              Around the League

Chicago hires Eric Mangini to replace Lovie Smith

Cleveland replaces Romeo Crennell with Russ Grimm

The Jets bring in Army HC General Sanders to replace Eric Mangini

Lovie Smith replaces Rod Marinelli as the Lions HC

The Rams bring back QB Trent Green to be their QB Coach

Unexpectedly, Carolina Coach John Fox, Arizona Coach Alex Gibbs and Buffalo Coach Dick Jauron escape the chopping block.

Looking forward to seeing how bad General Sanders will be with the Jets and how long they will keep him around.

Brandon Marshall Signs With The Raiders!

Raiders HC Joslin spends almost all of his Free Agent budget on one guy, WR Brandon Marshall. Marshall has posted 1300+ yards in each of his last 3 seasons and has improved every year. The Raiders look to combine Marshall with WR Kevin Robinson as their starting Wideouts.

"We are very excited to have Brandon join us. We wanted a game changer and he's definitely that." said Coach Joslin.

"Heck yeah! I'm glad to have Brandon join the team. Any QB in the league would be happy to have him to throw the ball to." said QB Ken Dorsey.

WR Brandon Marshall signs a 5yr deal worth $39M with a $6M bonus.

The deal leaves a scant $400K left in the Raiders Free Agent coffers.

The addition of WR Marshall likely spells the end to WR Ronald Curry's time in Oakland. Curry had a solid season two years ago, but last year his production dropped significantly. Combine the poor performance with a relatively big cap number and the writing is on the wall.

                    Raiders Draft Recap

1st Round, pick 30 QB Brett Cardinal, Boise State (fearful that Cardinal would be gone by 32, the Raiders sent their 1st round pick #32 and a 4th rounder in 2011 to the Colts to move up 2 spots.) Speculation is that GM Al Davis sees QB Cardinal as the Raider QB of the future. The only question is will he start sooner or later?

2nd Round, pick 64 WR Delbert Conroy, Oregon

5th Round, pick 152 CB Richard Mays, Memphis (Raiders sent 6th and 7th in 2011 to the Jaguars for this pick)

                    Undrafted Rookie Free Agents

                    QB Tavian McCracken, Norfolk State

                    WR Twan Connor, Miss. State

                    DT J. B. Green, Buffalo

                    CB Hunter Williams, Portland St.

                      QB Andrew Walter Traded

It looks like the Raiders have decided to uncomplicate things at the QB position. They have traded backup QB Andrew Walter to the Cardinals for a 5th round pick in 2011.

QB Andrew Walter at times outperformed starter QB Ken Dorsey, but neither excelled.

The Raiders drafted QB Brett Cardinal in the 1st round of the draft and added QB Tavian McCracken from Norfolk State, sending a clear message that they want to make a change at QB.

This is good stuff. How you handle the team seems realistic. I feel like a fan would be super excited to see the team trying to build a passing game to go w/ the dominating run game.

                                Week 1

                                Raiders vs Chiefs
                                1st Quarter

Oakland Rookie QB Brett Cardinal finds fellow rookie WR Delbert Conroy and Conroy does the rest going 81yds for the TD.

                                OAK 7 KC 0

KC HB Larry Johnson breaks a 13yd run up the middle for a TD

                                OAK 7 KC 7

                                2nd Quarter

An interception thrown by OAK Rookie QB Brett Cardinal sets up KC QB Troy Smith for a 15yd pass to WR Ike Hilliard.

                                OAK 7 KC 14

OAK HB Justin Fargas is knocked out of the game, and backup HB Chris Johnson is having fumbling issues...so the Raiders turn to HB Jamel Keddington, who rewards them with a 8yd TD Run

                                OAK 14 KC 14

                                3rd Quarter

Rookie QB Brett Cardinal gets pulled after KC DB M. Markland intercepts a pass and returns it 45yds for a TD.

                                OAK 14 KC 21

OAK HB Jamel Keddington pounds his way through the middle for a 2yd TD.

                                OAK 21 KC 21

                                4th Quarter

A redzone stop forces the Chiefs to settle for a 24yd FG

                                OAK 21 KC 24

KC HB Larry Johnson busts a 42yd TD run after seeming to be corralled in the backfield.

OAK 21 KC 31 with less than 3 minutes remaining

OAK KR Josh Cribbs puts the Raiders back into this one with a 98yd Kickoff Return TD.

                                OAK 28 KC 31

An onside kick recovered by the Raiders gets the Raiders the ball back, and QB Ken Dorsey is able to get the team close enough for Matt Prater to tie the game with a 32yd FG

                                OAK 31 KC 31

The Chiefs can't get a 1st down to keep the clock running and have to give the ball back to the Raiders. A solid return by KR Josh Cribbs gets the Raiders close and QB Ken Dorsey gets them even closer. With less than 5 seconds on the clock, Matt Prater nails a 40yd FG to win it!

OAK 34 KC 31 Final! The Raiders come from behind to win a close one!

                                Key Performers
