Tennessee Alum Jeremiah Harmon to Call Plays in 2012
Murfreesboro (TN) - Blue Raider head coach Rick Stockstill announced that Jeremiah Harmon will serve as the team's offensive coordinator in 2012. Harmon comes to MTSU after serving on the West Virginia coaching staff under Dana Holgorsen. Harmon will be bringing the high-flying Air Raid system to Floyd Stadium in the hopes of vaulting Middle Tennessee to their first Sun Belt Conference championship since 2006 when they shared the title with Troy.
Harmon will also play a major role in recruiting. He has been consistently ranked as one of Rivals.com's top recruiting assistants for the past several years. Middle has struggled to recruit against some of the more advantageously located schools in the Sun Belt. Having served as an assistant at Texas Tech and Houston, he will bring with him some recruiting ties to the fertile state of Texas.
Harmon Resume

Welcome to the Big Leagues... Sort of
Murfreesboro (TN) - Middle Tennessee did not give a very warm welcome to UTSA Saturday, hammering the first year FBS program 59-14. Logan Kilgore and Jacob Bennet picked up the new "Jer Raid" offense in a hurry. Kilgore threw for 458 yards and 5 TDs and Bennett caught 8 passes for 196 yards. The defense also had a strong showing in the first game of the year, holding the Roadrunners to 242 yards and forced two interceptions.

2012 MTSU Recruiting Watch: Week 2
Recruiting Watch
Middle Tennessee lost two Defensive Tackle prospects this week. Adam Ferguson of Quincy, FL committed to play for Ole Miss, and Edward Mackey of San Benito, TX picked Boise State over Wyoming and MTSU.
The Blue Raiders did pick up a commitment. Bruce Williams, a Guard from Bonnie Doone, NC announced he would play his football at Middle Tennessee. Williams is only rated as a 1-star but the staff feel like he could be a diamond in the rough.

REDEMPTION!
Last Second Field Goal Propels MTSU to 29-28 Victory
Murfreesboro (TN) - It was a test of resilience for the MTSU football team in their Sun Belt Conference opener at Floyd Stadium on Saturday. Between Ben Cunningham's fumble that was returned 84 yards and backup Quarterback Jeff Murphy's interception was taken 71 yards the other way, Middle Tennessee's offense would surrender as many points to the Owls as the defense (14). And senior kicker Carlos Lopez missed an extra point that would have closed a deficit late in the game to 7.
Both the offense and Lopez would find their redemption in the end, however. Logan Kilgore, whose brief absence saw Murphy's pick six, would lead the Blue Raiders on a furious comeback that put the ball one the five yard line with 3 second left to play and the score 26-28. Lopez would take it from there, putting the game winning field goal right down the middle for a dramatic win.

Re: Jeremy7679's Online Career Dynasty (NCAA 13)
MTSU Picks Up Two
New offensive coordinator Harmon's ties to Texas are paying off in recruiting, as the Blue Raiders picked up two commitments from players in that state. Wide receiver Renaldo Moss, a 3-star prospect from Kerrville, TX, no doubt committed in part to the Blue Raiders new high-flying offense. Also, 1-star JUCO player Joh Tompkins also committed this week.
There are rumors afloat that 4-star defensive end Rico Tucker from Humble, TX is giving MTSU a look. Tucker currently lists Oregon as his leader.
