Noticed Clayton and Williams looked like they were starting till the last couple games, or at least they were the only one producing.
Yes. Brad Johnson is still playing. So are Michael Strahan and Jonathan Ogden. Redoing the draft causes wonky things to happen in the alternate universe. The fact that Brad Johnson is starting for the Bears speaks to their terrible QB situation. Losing to a Brad Johnson helmed team hurt. It was their first win of the season.

Roydell has been a stud. I picked him up after Demetrius Williams went down with an injury. My starting receivers were Manningham and D. Williams. Manningham lined up at flanker (Z) and D. Williams lined up at split end (X). Clayton was my slot guy. When D. Williams went down, I moved Friday into the starting lineup at split end (X) and R. Williams moved into the slot. Clayton didn't move to split end because he lacks top end speed. He lost the slot position because R. Williams is better at making catches in traffic. Smith targets him a lot and he's able to hold onto the ball after nasty collisions. I like his production but I'm upset that Smith constantly checks down to R. Williams instead of trying to hit the deep threats on the outside.

Got it, always interested so see how guys move up and down and how people alter their teams around - esp when it's something that makes great sense, and not just "this guy has X potential, and that guy has Y"

Good luck in the next game - hopefully Troy gets it together. He's a pretty decent QB, never really used him in a vertically aggressive offense. That's one thing I miss out of HC06 - you could tell your QB to go deep or short, scramble more or less, be safe or risky, etc..

Thanks. I've actually played through week 14 of the season, so these box scores as just to catch people up on what has transpired. Keep reading to see if Troy Smith turned things around. He did get the team to the AFC Championship last season (Along with 50 turnovers forced by our defense). Once I'm caught up, I'll go back to posting match-up previews, winners & losers, AFC North roundups, etc. My goal is to be caught up by the early part of next week.

Retirements are really wonky on the Sweetney draft path-due to the weakness of the path the first 5 years. It's not unusual to see players play until they're 50, and I'm just kidding a little bit.

yeah, it's just cool seeing them play into their 40s, hey, if he's still starting, more power to him. LOL!

Three pick-6's hurts!!!! The 3 TDs were nice though. Looks like you got close, just couldn't stop 'em to prevent that last field goal. Granted, you'd still have needed at TD. Chargers are tough - though it looks like you really shut 'em down for most of the game... Keep fighting!

Ugh...Troy Smith is driving me nuts. The defense is playing out of this world yet we lose because of turnovers. I really feel for the veterans on my defense. I don't know that Ray Lewis and Chris McAlister will be back next season. They deserve better. If Troy Smith was at least playing at Trent Dilfer levels, the defense could carry us on a deep run into the playoffs.

Five more box scores until I'm fully caught up. Thanks for reading. I hope the box scores reveal the roller-coaster ride that this season has been.

It's certainly been a roller coaster ride. Troy Smith can be a good quarterback, but he seems to develop rather slowly and always seems to struggle with his awareness. I'm looking forward to these next box scores and seeing what else happens in this season. Hopefully Smith can turn it around for you

I think that Troy Smith can be a good quarterback if he's in a system that suits his skillset. Cam Cameron's offense runs most efficiently with a quarterback that can drive the ball deep. Troy Smith's arm strength tops out at 87. His accuracy and awareness are such that he would probably thrive in a west coast system. His mobility would make him deadly in a west coast system like Shanahan's that incorporates a lot of play-action passes.
