    Dynasty question - kind of...

So. My 360 is toast. Had some heating issues and freezing issues and now it just won't do anything. Of course the warranty is long gone. Talked to the kids and got a new one, new warranty, etc. I had one of the old original Elites, so getting a new slim one etc should keep me gaming on it for years...

That being said, going to have to start a new franchise... awww shucks, right?

I'm seriously tempted to take the Cowboys and get rid of Romo and headache Owens and see what happens... OR I'll be bringing in a diff franchise - maybe Jags or Saints (but then Brees has to go - hate that guy)

Side note though - with the XBOXONE and PS4 coming out - which way is everyone leaning? Neither will play HC of course, but just wondering what everyone's been thinking.

After avoiding the PS from the PS1, 2, 3 - and being all Xbox, I think I'm switching to the PS4...

anyway - I'm just messing around thinking about which to start, getting the first of many beers and rocking out. Glad to see some more franchises popping up on the boards and a couple that were gone are back...

Sucks to hear about your 360. I would make suggestions but you've tried a lot of the teams that come to mind. Jacksonville would be cool but I can't endorse starting off with Dallas or New Orleans and dumping their quarterbacks.

LOL! I know - I guess I like to make it even harder than it should be.

It's ok, getting a new 360 before the new systems hit was something I wanted to do... just not this weekend.

I'm just mostly bummed my saved games are gone. I read that I could buy the cable to transfer hard drive info from the old one to this one, but since mine won't power up I don't know what really died in it. I hate to spend the $30 or whatever to get the cable for nothing. A lot of saved games are gone - luckily I had just beat Sniper 2:Ghost Warrior on Thurs or I'd be pissed. I was right at the end section and glad I didn't wait another day to finish it! LOL!!

As for my franchises, I'll live. this will force me to concentrate on one - no matter how many ideas I get in my head at once! That's part of the reason I haven't been updating the way I should... that and some out of Xbox issues I've got on my plate. Ya'll understand....

So... guess I'm going to get rolling with my new 360 franchise since I've got a decent story in my head to keep me hooked. I really don't think I could ever get tired of this game. Hopefully this new version of the 360 runs forever - I'm still stunned how quiet it is compared to my old elite... That one sounded like there was a Honda idling in the room!

Think I'll start one more tonight and see which one feels better, which one ya'll have more interest in, etc. and just go with it. Something different, like the Jags. Don't want to restart one of the teams I lost w/my last 360 just yet. Guess we'll see what happens.

What would you guys think of a Colts dynasty? I know, they're very easy to play with but I wanted to do something different instead of the usual "build a team up from the bottom." I'd also make use of storylines and have players/staff potentially leaving and what not.

You can make any franchise fun and challenging. I could see the Colts with serious cap issues down the line, that much talent can't be cheap, plus if you clean house with your coaches and avoid grabbing the Future 50, other known studs or all the sleepers, that would add some challenge too. Can't hurt to give it a go and see if you like it. You'd have a hard time NOT winning the Super Bowl in year one, unless you cut Manning, so the challenge will be in years 2 or 3 once the coaches and some key players are gone.

The Colts are set up to win Super Bowls the first 2 years, they then run into problems over that. Their skilled OC Tom Moore is close to retirement, Caldwell often leaves after the first year, and there's a good chance you lose the WRC as well.

The roster-too many big contracts. In about 2-3 years time, they start having to let all their skilled players go for cap reasons, and a lot of the time they can't bring in replacements via the draft-particularly on defense.

In short(too late)-I look forward to what you do with the Colts-especially if you choose to use a created coach.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Jags dynasty, or even a Seahawks dynasty. But ultimately, choose a team you would prefer playing as. It makes it that much easier to keep going.

As for the sidenote regarding the PS4/XBOXOne, I'm leaning towards the PS4. For me, it's one simple reason: the Kinect. I hate that you cannot use the XBOXOne without one, that it will always have to be on. Don't get me wrong, I like the Kinect, but if it's mandatory to even run the system, that just kills it for me. Though I'm still going to end up getting both systems

Having fun with my Jags franchise, 'course I'm still hurting after my Colts game.

Yes, the Kinect is my issue too. It seems that the game developers have the option on how they're using it - but so far none have said if any of the games are going to be kinect mandatory or kinect optional.

If it's just an optional feature, I'm ok with it. (and won't use it) but if you have to use it on every game all the time - forget it. I may not rush out and get one when they debut, I might wait till tax time in Feb and see what people say. It's a pretty big investment, not sure I'll be getting both (in my situation) anytime soon. 'course once more information on the actual games comes around, I might get on the preorder list. If you hear anything about games requiring the kinect or it being optional, let me know.

I'm not sure about games using the Kinect yet, but I do know that the console itself will not work without the Kinect. That means to me that the games will all probably have at least optional Kinect capabilities, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them require it.
