All the cool kids sign with the Aggies.

Actually I was going to sign with Oregon, but just couldn't bring myself to play USC, so I signed with A&M.

Martin snags two touchdowns as Aggies Pull Out Close Victory

Freshman star Andrew Martin had a total of eight receptions for 62 yards on the day including two big touchdown catches. It was running back Courtney Lewis, who, with four seconds remaining on the game clock, broke an eighty yard touchdown run to win the game by a score of 45-42 for his Aggies.

Star Quarterback Reggie McNeal had an outstanding game for Texas A&M. The senior went 25/37 for 457 yards, throwing five touchdowns to one interception. He is also said to be impressed with his freshman wide out.

"He's(Martin) got a nose for the ball, you can throw it to practically anywhere around him and he'll chase after it and come down with the ball. I like that about him. He doesn't celebrate a whole lot, but he knows when he's done a good job."

Texas A&M are off next week but will then head back to College Station to host what should be an easy victory in SMU on September 17th.

Big game, especially for the first one of your career.

          Congrats on the two TD's

I did the spring drills in RFTH as a RB and was also offered by TAMU. Weird.

Martin Finds Paydirt Twice More As Aggies Roll To Victory

The Texas A&M Aggies took to a rainy Kyle Field on Saturday night to take on "easy win" opponent, the SMU Mustangs. Senior Quarterback Reggie McNeal looked to continue his hot start to the season, while Freshman wide receiver Andrew Martin looked to prove to doubters that he is indeed for real.

The duo hooked up on the opening drive, with McNeal finding Martin on a nineteen yard touchdown strike to give the Aggies an early 7-0 lead over their opponents.

The teammates would connect on the same wavelink once more to find paydirt, this time early in the second quarter and from eight yards away. Martin beat his defender with a hitch n' go patern, but lost his footing in the end zone and had to dive to retrieve the touchdown reception, he then quickly got back up to his feet and flashed the famous "Heisman pose" touchdown dance. Could such a pose foreshadow events to come at the end of the season for the freshman standout?

In all, Martin finished with eight catches for the second consecutive game, this time for a total of 58 yards. Reggie McNeal went 19/24 for 274 yards along with three touchdowns and one interception to lead his team to a 48-20 victory over SMU.

The Aggies will host another lowly opponent next weekend when Texas State University comes to town to try and hang. Many fans are expecting it to be a blowout and expect the first team starters to only play the first half at the most. Head Coach Dennis Franchione isn't saying anything one way or the other.

"We'll see how it goes," He said, "Who knows the may surprise us."

Aggies Crack Top 25, Lose Mobley For Season

The Texas A&M Aggies got both some good news and some bad news on Monday. The good news is that they cracked the nation's top 25 best teams at #18. The bad news is that they lost Wide Receiver DaQwan Mobley for the rest of the season because of a torn ACL. Mobley had four receptions for 109 yards with one touchdown prior to getting injured.

Aggies Embarass Texas State 90-6, Martin Finds Endzone Again

It was a game that was beyond doubt even before the teams arrived a Kyle Field. The Texas A&M Aggies simply dominated, demoralized, and downright humiliated the Texas State Bobcats to the tune of a 90-6 drubbing Saturday afternoon.

Courtney Lewis ran all over the horrid Bobcat defense, running for 193 yards and four touchdowns including a 61 yard scamper to the endzone early on in the contest.

Freshman Wide out Andrew Martin started out slow, recording his first catch towards the midway point of the second quarter on his second to last offensive series of the game, but overal didn't have too bad of a game recording six catches for a total of 90 yards and one touchdown.

"He had a rough outing today," Head Coach Dennis Franchione stated following the game, "I don't know what was on his mind this afternoon but he wasn't up to his usual snuff. I'm sure he'll bounce back next game, though"

Martin himself was the most disappointed out of everyone stating "I know that I could have done much, much better out there today, but that just means that I'm going to have to go off next weekend to reprove myself to everybody."

The Aggies(3-0) will open up their Big XII conference season with a game against Baylor next week.

A&M Player Receives National Player Of The Week Honours

Texas A&M running back Courtney Lewis received national player of the week honours as a result of his performance last week against lowly Texas State.

Lewis ran for 193 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, he also added one reception which was also a touchdown.

"It's great to receive this honour," Lewis said humbly following practice on Monday, "It is a great feeling to know that you have been recognized as the best player in the nation for a given week."

Big XII Defensive player of the week honours also went to an Aggie. Defensive End Chris Harrington, a Sophmore, received the honour after racking up 7 TKLs(4 TFL), 4 sacks, 1 FF, and 1 FR. He was also gracious when he learned of winning the award.

"That's pretty cool," Harrington said, "I'm glad that they picked me this week and hopefully it's the first of many for both me and my team".

Aggies Survive Baylor Scare Without McNeal

After losing star quarterback Reggie McNeal to a two game suspension because of an incident during practice earlier in the week, it was up to back up quarterback Ty Branyon to lead the Aggies against the surprisingly 3-0 Baylor Bears in this always intense rivalry game. Throw in the added factor of it being a conference game and you've got all the ingredients to make this game a great one.

Texas A&M jumped out to an early 17-3 after the first quarter thanks to the stellar play of both Branyon and running back Courtney Lewis. But things quickly changed with the Bears connecting from 15 yards out on a clock eating drive which ate up more than half the quarter to cut the lead down to just a touchdown.

That may have been the wake up the Aggies were needing, though as they proceeded to score two touchdowns on their next two series which ate up a healthy chunk of the game clock in both the 2nd quarter and the latter which opened up the third quarter.

The Aggies pulled out to a 38-17 lead which lasted until the fourth quarter when the Bears added two late scores to make the game interesting but it was to no avail as the Aggies were able to outlast their foes by a score of 38-31.

"I'm pleased we were able to hang on," Commented Head Coach Dennis Franchione.

Freshman Wide Receiver Andrew Martin caught seven balls on the game for a total of 94 yards but was held without a touchdown. This game marks the first that the Freshman had been unable to reach the endzone in his college career.

"Even though I got held out of the endzone today, I still think it was improvement over last weeks debacle," Martin said comparingly between this weeks game and the previous, a blowout 90-6 victory over Texas State where, unlike today's game, he did reach the endzone.

It doesn't appear to get any easier for Texas A&M as they will travel to the thin air of Boulder, Colorado to take on the 3-1 University of Colorado Buffaloes in their second Big XII conference game of the season.

Note: I am now using Jistic's All American sliders.
