I nearly lost to Maryland as they were winning 17-16 with about a minute left in the fourth quarter. But I was able to keep my drive going (something that I hadn't been able to do all day) and scored with 15 seconds to go on a touchdown pass to Holley! I was pissed off the whole game considering that Maryland was 2-6 on the year and I just knew that I was going to lose to them right after I cracked the top 25.

I just finished out the regular season with a 9-2 record and ranked 5th in the nation. I will be playing N.C. State in the ACC Championship game (they are 7-4). As of right now, I will most probably be going to the Orange Bowl to play against Texas A&M. Ronnie McGill is second in the Heisman race behind none other than Matt Leinart.North Carolina Tar Heels 2005 Schedule:

As for myself, Im struggling. After 6 games, my record is 3-3. I dropped my first 3 games in a row. Ga. Tech beat me soundly, so I wasnt too mad about that one.
The Wisconsin game kills me though. I was up 10-0 the entire game it seemed like in a defensive struggle. In the 4th quarter, they finally start putting a drive together and score to make it 10-7. I get the ball with 2:30 to play and just need to run out the clock for my first win. I get one first down, but then get stopped. Wisconsin hits a deep bomb on its third play and takes a 14-10 lead with just over a minute to go. I get the ball and start a great drive passing the ball. I hit Jesse Holley from about 30 yards out and I thought he got in but he was actually knocked out at the 1. Holley is stoked about it though, so much so that he wildly celebrates ( I didnt hit anything) and draws a 15 yard penalty. Now 1st and Goal at the 16 and we hit some short passes but cant get in. The pass on 4th down sails wide and I lose 14-10 in a game I should have won.
Against NC State, Jay Davis destroyed me through the air. The computer loves to abuse me with the deep bomb, and it was really pissing me off. State was up 38-17 in the second half, so I decided to start throwing the bomb too, and I almost caught up, but I ran out of time.
I finally got a win against Utah, played solid defense and Matt Baker lit them up through the air. Against Louisville, there was little to no defensive played on both sides, and I won a shootout 51-48. It was one of those games where whoever has the ball last will win, and I got it last. I just played the game against UVA and got a great game out of Ronnie McGill (nearly 200 yards) and good defense and I won 24-14. Ive played parts of the Miami game, but I usually get really mad because they kill me and usually its through cheap *** bomb passes. It seems like the computer knows that if its in trouble, it can always go to the bomb and get a score. My goal for the season is 5 wins, I ought to be able to beat Duke and either Maryland or BC. 5 wins ought to keep my prestige at 3 stars and 5-6 is a decent season with the rough schedule. Next year, I plan on playing a lot of easier ball teams, just to get more wins. The inseason recruiting has been weird. I had 3 3* star guys sign with me once when I simmed through the entire season, but now everytime I sim to see what happens, one signs with Tennesse after the Miami game, another signs with UGA at the end of the season despite the fact he didnt like it on his visit, and the third signs with Va. Tech even though Im always #1 for him and all he can talk about. Its weird.Founder/President of the OS Rams ClubComment

I just beat 18 ranked Louisville 37-10. The last two game my denfense has stepped up..going into the game against utah I was last in ncaa in defense...but i have played well the last two games so hopefully i can break the top 100. I am now 3-2 with wins against GT, Utah and Lousiville and losses against Wisconsin and NC State. I guess beating GT and Louisville is huge cuz I am now ranked 21 with just a 3-2 record. Next game is against Virginia and I have a couple recruits going to that game so hopefully I win.Comment

Alright, I beat N.C. State in a close game 38-35, needless to say my heart was pounding the entire time. I threw three picks and fumbled the ball once - I also allowed a kickoff return for a touchdown. These were the only ways that they scored, I shutdown Davis completely.
Now, I'm going to the Orange Bowl to face off against Texas A&M; Miami is going to play USC in the National Championship game.
And, oh yeah, Ronnie beat out Leinart and pulled the upset to win the Heisman - I couldn't believe it!!!North Carolina Tar Heels 2005 Schedule:

Re: UNC Tar Heel Dynasty thread(if u are using them)
To follow up to my post a while back, my dynasty has started to turn around. After a 3-3 start to the 2005 season, I dropped the Miami game to fall to 3-4, but then managed to win out the rest of the regular season to finish a surprising 7-4, considering my goal was 5 wins. I was invited to the Peach Bowl to play 6-5 South Carolina. We jumped out to a quick lead but then my defensel, which helped get me those 4 straight wins and the bowl invite, abandoned me. The game quickly turned into a shootout, I couldnt stop their running back, #3, I think his name is Boyd. Neither team played any defense, and both of us went over 600 yards of offense in the game. I ended up losing in the third OT 65-63 b/c I failed to convert the 2 pt. attempt. But we still finished 2005 with a record of 7-5 and just missed finishing in the top 25 (was ranked #21 headed into the bowl game), so it was a good year.
Heading into the offseason, I lost most of my offensive line, my QB Baker who had a great year, and a few good players on defense. I was able to land a good recruiting class though because of our good season (#5 in the country with 1 5*, 11 4* players plus some more 3 * players too). I noticed a weird thing because of the computer recruiting assistance though. My one 5 star recruit was a QB from Georgia who was #2 QB overall because I needed a 3rd QB for the team. After I signed him in Week 3, I pulled all the scholarship offers to other QBs I was interested in to save points. Well I guess the computer didnt seem to notice this, becuase on signing day, when I checked out my class, I had signed 5 QBs. The computer didnt sign scrubs either, it had added 4 4 star QBs to my team, giving me 7 total. That was pretty weird, but it gave me a lot of depth at that spot. I decided to cut one of the recruits, the worst one and Roger Heinz, and start Cameron Sexton because he's the only one who can run, and my line is pretty weak, I start 4 freshman on it.
70-7
The 2006 season is off to a good start for me. The non-conference schedule is a lot easier than 2005's, but just for another win, I added Furman in Week 1. I beat them 90-28, but their halfback ran for over 300 yards on me, which I took as a sign of things to come. Next game was Rutgers at home, who I beat 42-21, I was up 35-0 at the half, so I took out all the starters on both sides, defense played much better. Next up was USF, who I beat 45-20, it was close for 3 quarters but I pulled away in the 4th. In week 4, I played Wake Forest. They chose to receive and my defense got a quick stop to my surprise. On my first offensive play, McGill broke a huge TD run. I got another quick stop, and a few more good runs, Im up 14-0 like that. Wake finally starts a good drive, but they try a pass to the FB, covered by Larry Edwards, my impact LB, with whom I step in front of the pass and intercept it, returning it for a TD. At that point the game was literally over, the momentum was on my side and I just kept rolling, I won 70-7, and I played most of the second half with my backups in. I was 4-0 but I had yet to really be tested. The next game was State at home, and I jumped out to a 17-3 lead by the half. Their defense put some stops toghether, and the RB, #20 demolished my defense for some big runs. By the 4th quarter they led 24-17. I put a good drive together and was 4th and goal from the 4. I called a pass play where Jesse Holley ran a crossing pattern that usually got him some space where he could run in for a TD. He got open and I threw him the ball, but it bounced off his hands, I was about to throw my controller through the wall, when Ronnie McGill caught the ball off the tip around the 3 and started moving toward the goal line. Unfortunately, Mario Williams was right there and layed Ronnie out, ending our chances of tying the game. As it stands right now, Im 4-1 (1-1) and unranked.
A few things: the offense on AA seems way too easy, especially running the ball, after about 10 carries with McGill, Im usually around 150 yards. Passing is really easy too, I can usually hit my receivers for a big gain through a deep ball if I need to badly, or just a short pass and they'll break it open for a long gain. Defense has been my main problem, I get killed by a team with a good player at RB, or when the computer decided to throw it deep. Im definitely gonna start playing with sliders because the game already has the feeling to me that it might be getting too easy. I want to run a realistic Carolina dynasty, theres no way I should win the ACC this season when half of my starting lineup is freshmen.Founder/President of the OS Rams ClubComment

Re: UNC Tar Heel Dynasty thread(if u are using them)
To follow up to my last post the other day, in the 2006 season, my team now sits at 5-3 with a 2-3 conference record.
After the NC State game, Georgia Tech came to Chapel Hill as I looked to go to 5-1 on the year. I went up 10-0 right away, but out Techs defense turned it up a notch and started shutting me down. On my first punt of the game, Calvin Johnson broke it for a TD. Then I went three and out again, and Calvin Johnson returned another punt for a TD, 14-10 Ga. Tech. That was the score at the half, and in the second half, they got their offense goin. My defense broke down, but I kept in the game because I gave up on my offense and starting heaving bombs to Mike Mason, so I only lost by a TD 38-31, even though the game really wasnt that close.
The next game was at Clemson and we got back on track. I leaped out to another big lead, up 21-0, but the Tigers stormed back and took a 27-24 with a minute to go. Sexton led the team on a last minute TD drive to win 31-27.
Finally, I just got done playing the Virginia Tech game. My offense just wasnt there, but my defense dominated for a while. I led 14-0 at the half, but Marcus Vick began to play like his brother, scrambling for big gains and throwing bullet passes on the run. It was 14-14 with about a minute left and I had the ball, I needed a FG to win my sixth game and probaly move into the rankings, Va. Tech was #15 at the time. I got a drive goin, but Sexton got picked and they returned it to my 20, called a run up the middle, and kicked a field goal to win it. Despite that, I was able to land a 4* DE after the game, he was in the Old Spice Top 50 and with Melik Brown and Rackley leaving after this season, should help out a lot next year. My next stretch of games should be very tough. Next game is at Virginia, #22 in the country, then at #14 Miami for the second year in a row (scheduling bug here?), then at #7 Notre Dame, and then finally at Duke. Realistically, Im only going to win the Duke game, but 6 wins should be a solid 2nd season and keep the prestige at 4 stars. If I win at UVA, the best chance I have to win one of the other 3 games, and Duke, I could finish 7-5 and probably get a bowl invite again.
One thing Ive noticed about the game is that at the start of most of my games, I can usually score pretty easily. If I dont score a ton of points though and get the momentum way in my favor, the other team is usually gonna come back and challenge me the rest of the way. I guess the AI usually figures out my offensive style and the plays I like to run after a few quarters, kind of cool, but it would be nice to fall behind and then come back to win a game, Ive yet to win a game like that.Founder/President of the OS Rams ClubComment

Re: UNC Tar Heel Dynasty thread(if u are using them)
I finised my first season with unc 10-3 i think i went...I won the acc title game and i manhandled Purdue in the Orange bowl i think it was. In the offseason I lost all 3 impact players (justice, holley and mcgill) and most of my offensive line. I did convince one of my DE to stay. He was only a 78 overal so im not sure why he wanted to go to the draft. In my second season so far i am 6-1 loosing to Georgia Tech. Sexton is my starting QB and he runs the option very well. Mason my WR is first in the heisman race at this point.Comment
