    Cincinnati Dynasty

I mentioned in a few earlier posts how my first year dynasty with the University of Cincinnati was going in the new look Big East. I was ranked #15 in the nation and had an Orange Bowl date (after a 10-1 regular season with my only loss coming to Penn State) with #7 Notre Dame. After a back and forth first half, I took a 24-17 halftime lead on the strength of 2 costly ND turnovers even though they outgained me on offense by 125 yards. The second half saw me extend the lead to 34-17 before ND made a push and scored a quick touchdown to make the score and get the ball back after a 3 and out to make it 34-31 but I converted some key 3rd downs on the ground and managed to hold on 44-34. In the early recruiting period I nabbed two 3 star players, a FS and DE out of necessity and 4 star players at QB, WR and CB (who is 6'5" to boot!). I've accepted a decent DT as a transfer because I have no depth there and after 2 weeks of offseason recruiting have nabbed a few 2 and 3 star players at positions of necessity (i.e. Punter, DE, C) but things are looking bright in Cincinnati and the three 4 star guys I have coming in should get immediate minutes and hopefully start a pipeline where more top prep players in Ohio look at UC.

If you have much more success you might consider asking Zimpher for a job at UC.

      LMAO, good one!

My completely unbiased opinion, of course, is that you shouldn't waste your time with UC. They're going to be the new Temple of the Big East. All basketball, but a doormat in football. Let's face it, they're in the league for the winter sport, not the one in the fall. And I'm being completely objective here of course.

I'm looking forward to the Victory Bell game this year. One of those rivalries where records, stats, nothing means anything. Either team can win it every year. Go Miami!

While I can't say they won't be the doormat of the new Big East, teams like Rutgers and South Florida could very well take that roll and the BE is not the powerhouse it once was. Syracuse is mediocre, WVU is pretty solid every year but lost a lot of talent from last year's team, Louisville might be the best team in the league but other than that no other teams are that dominant. Pittsburgh hired the worst possible candidate in Dave Wannstedt who has destroyed every team he's ever coached. I'll be just fine in my dynasty at UC and I guarantee my stint as head coach in the dynasty and Bob Huggins outlast Nancy Zimpher who should be fired for what she's done. Never hire someone from Ohio State if you ask me, they are either on someone's payroll or had someone take classes for them lol.
