    New York Mets (MVP 05)

Hey, people. I have decided to start a new owner with the New York Metropolitans. I'll see how long this lasts, but most likely, it will be a long time.
Keep in mind, I make A LOT of trades.

All stats and other info for this owner mode (home games being played at Fred Wilpon Stadium) will be posted on this site.

    Far Wall: Padded
    Seat Color: Blue

Well, that's what I've done so far. Trade info in a flash.

Re: New York Mets (MVP 05)

Before I go into the Projected Batting Order, I made one more trade. I signed prospect Tony Farmer, and traded him to Houston for Willy Taveras (who will start the year in the MLB) and for Dan Wheeler (who will start the year in AA). Now off we go.

            Projected Batting Order

            W/DH

            1: RF Ichiro-

Last season with Seattle, he batted .372, with 8 HR’s, 60 RBI’s, had 36 SB’s, and set an MLB record with 262 hits.

            2: LF Juan Pierre-

Last season with Florida, he batted .326, with 3 HR’s, 49 RBI’s, had 45 SB’s, and racked up 221 hits.

            3: 1B Albert Pujols-

            Last season with St. Louis, he batted .331 with 46 HR’s and 123 RBI’s, 5 SB’s, and 196 hits.

            4: C Javy Lopez-

Last season with Baltimore, he batted .316 with 23 HR’s, 86 RBI’s, no stolen bases and 183 hits.

            5: 3B David Wright-

Last season, although he got a late season call up (played only 70 Major League Games), he batted .293 with 14 HR’s, 40 RBI’s, had 6 SB’s, and had 77 hits.

            6: DH Tony Clark-

Last season with the Yankees, he batted .221, with 16 HR’s, 49 RBI’s, had no stolen bases, and had 56 hits.

            7: CF Carl Crawford-

            Last season with Tampa Bay, the speedster batted .296, had 11 HR’s, 55 RBI’s, 59 SB’s, and 185 hits.

            8: SS Jose Reyes-

Last season, shortened by injury, Jose batted .255, had 2 HR’s, 14 RBI’s, 19 SB’s, and had 56 hits in a total of 53 games.

            9: 2B Mark Grudzielanek-

Last season with the Cubs, Mark batted .307, with 6 HR’s, 23 RBI’s, had 1 SB and had 79 hits.

Without DH, everybody under Tony Clark should move up a spot, and the pitcher would bat 9th.

            Bench

            2B/UTIL- Miguel Cairo-

            Last season with the Yankees, he batted .292, with 6 HR’s, 42 RBI’s, 11 SB’s and 105 hits.

            C- Dioner Navarro-

Last season with the Yankees, he played only 5 games due to a late season callup, but when he did play, he batted .429, with 0 HR’s, 1 RBI, 0 SB’s, and 3 hits.

            2B, 1B, OF- Marlon Anderson-

            Last season with St. Louis, he batted .237 with 8 HR’s, 28 RBI’s, 6 SB’s, and 60 hits.

            C- Ramon Castro-

            Last season with Florida, he batted .135, with 3 HR’s, 8 RBI’s, 0 SB’s, and had 13 hits.

            CF/OF- Willy Taveras-

Last season with Houston, he went 0-1, but scored 2 runs, and had 1 SB. He is a top 100 prospect.

1B/DH- Tony Clark- (see W DH)

UPCOMING SERIES FOR THE NEW YORK METS

4/4-4/7 3 Game series against the Cincinatti Reds.

Who to watch out for: Ken Griffey Jr.

Yes, I know that he's had injuries in the past, and you'd like me to go with Adam Dunn, but this is Opening Day. Ken Griffey Jr. usually gets about halfway through the season and then, he tears his hamstring. But because this is both team's opening series, then Ken Griffey most likely will have a good series. The Mets can't let him hurt them, and they have got to continue to strike out Adam Dunn like everyone has.

                Opening Day
The Mets didn't exactly start off the season on a great note, but neither did the Reds. The Mets had some great offense in the first four innings, and that was all they needed. All though the season didn't start with what most people would call a bang, the Mets did the little things right. They bunted. They stole. After Jose Reyes had a single and stole a base, Pedro Martinez bunted him over to third. They drove in runners. After an Ichiro out, with Reyes on 3rd, Juan Pierre had an RBI single. When Juan Pierre hit a double, the very next batter Albert Pujols drove in Juan Pierre.

Pedro Martinez also pitched well. In 7 innings of work, he gave up only 1 run, a 7th inning home run to Sean Casey. However, by that time, the Mets had enough of a cushion to cruise along to victory.

I read it occationally. It was just odd at the beginning with all of the transactions. You might have been better off just doing a fantasy draft. Also, maybe you put a little too much effort into just one game. Try to shorten things up so you can update more often.
