    HOG HEAVEN

In a stunning move today, Steve Atwater has been named new head coach at the University of Arkansas. Atwater, a former NFL Superstar with the Denver Broncos, had a few sound bites at his press conference.

Atwater:Yea im excited at the opportunity to coach my old college, but yaknow excitement can only take ME so far... we have to get back to our roots, our basics... and for that matter we need to get back to hard nosed smash mouth Arkansas football.

So with that being said, the Razorbacks look foward to what will surely be a hellacious season.

Here are just a few offensive standouts:

    QB- Robert Johnson
    HB- De'Arrius Howard
    WR- Marcus Monk

Will be posting schedule next and then defensive standouts when i get home.

          Razorbacks Roll in Season Opener

Well going into this game, even tho it was a Div 1-AA school in SW Missou St., Coach Atwater was defenetly under heavy pressure. With that being said he let his team do the talking in a 65-14 drubbing of the SMS Bears. Screaming for a solid running game from the sidelines, Coach Atwater got just that. The Razorbacks set a school record for rushing yards with....495!!!!!!!....nope its not a typo, 495 on 56 carries left the Bears going back to Missou licking their wounds.

Razorbacks get brought back to reality

Fayetteville- Well it only took 2 weeks into the season before Razorback fans cheers turned to a chorus of BOOS.... but to Vandy? 62-17???... We arent kidding folks, fueled by 5 picks at the hands of Robert Johnson (7-25 146 5ints) the Commodores of Vanderbilt laughed their way to a blowout and shut the mouths of the Fayetteville faithful. when asked about the loss, Coach Atwater looked up from the table and said "It was rough, but the beautiful thing is we have another game next week.".... Maybe someone should tell coach that the Razorbacks are traveling to Southern Cal to face Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, Darnell Bing (shall I continue?) and the #1 USC Trojans.

                    Arkansas loses #2 to #1

Southern Cal.- Another week another loss, the Arkansas Razorbacks made it 2 losses in a row this week with a 47-9 drubbing at the hands of the Trojans. The game was never really in doubt for USC, as the closest the score ever was, was 6-3 after the first quarter. From there Reggie Bush put his seal of approval and stated as to why hes #2 in the Heisman rankings. The lone bright spots for the Razorbacks were yet again De'Arrius Howard and Vickiel Vaughn. After the game Coach Atwater was unavailable for comment, but from what we heard outside the locker room, the coach didnt sound too pleased. On a side note, after the first 3 games for Arkansas, they have had 3 seperate NCAA infractions involving student athletes that dont care enough to put in the hard work that it takes to win a football game... or atleast put up a showing in one... May we see probation for Arkansas?

Roll Tide: 'BAMA hangs 3rd L in a row to Arkansas

Well, we can say that Arkansas had a chance... and they did.... until the second half. Taking an early 7-0 lead, the Razorbacks looked crisp on offense and defense, BUT the injury bug bit jeremy harrell and he was forced to sit the remainder of the game with a tweaked ankle.Thats all the Crimson Tide needed to walk all over the Razorbacks, outscoring them 28-7 in the second half. Turnovers again were the problem and it leaves Coach Atwater thinking "do i take out Johnson? or do I let him ride out the storm."
