    gosensgo101's Superstar

I've already started this one and I'm at the end of December 2005.

I'm gonna do this in a talk show/SportsCentre Style instead of stats.

I'm the 3rd string QB on the Baltimore Ravens and I was drafted in the late 4th Round.

    Re: gosensgo101's Superstar

    Jack FM: January 1st, 2006

Scott Garceau:Welcome Late Night Sports with Scott Garceau and Tom Matte on 102.7 Jack FM.
Tom Matte:Tonite we'll gonna blab about the Ravens season up to the New Year. Lets Start with the draft.
Scott Garceau:The Ravens started off in the 1st Round by picking Wide Out Mark Clayton 22nd Overall.
Tom Matte:This guys a speedster out of Oaklahoma.
Scott Garceau:Then in the 4th round they drafted a QB in Michael Tatlock.
Tom Matte:Tatlock's a solid QB he may not have the best arm but he does have a great team attitude and if Boller continues to be shakey he could compete for the starting job, otherwise Tatlock'll probobly go to another team when he's a Free Agent where he can start.
Scott Garceau:We interviewed him after he was drafted.
Scott Garceau:How do you feel being drafted by the Ravens?
Michael Tatlock:I like this organisation, there are some great young recievers and I look forward to throwing to them.
Tom Matte:What are your thoughts on Kyle Boller?
Michael Tatlock:He's a good young QB. I believe that he'll have a breakout year this year.
Scott Garceau:All 4 quarterbacks on the roster are very close in skill level and are all under 30 years old. Where do you think you fit in?
Michael Tatlock:That's up to Coach Billick. I think he's got me as 3rd string behind Wright and before Anderson. Anderson is a better thrower than me so I'm happy being 3rd string.
Tom Matte:What team are you most excited to play against?
Michael Tatlock:I can't wait to play against the Colts on Opening Night. Manning is one of the best QBs in the league. They will be a good test for us.
    Scott Garceau:Thank-you for your time.
    Michael Tatlock:No problem.
    Tom Matte:He is very proffesional.
    Scott Garceau:Yes he is.
Scott Garceau:Well, we're just gonna wiz through Training Camp, becausewell, its training camp. There were 2 battles in training camp, weren't there Tom?
Tom Matte:Yes there were. The biggest battle was for the 2nd through 4th string QB jobs.
Scott Garceau:In the end Billick kept them how they were sloted before Preseason.
    Tom Matte:Yep, Wright 2nd, Tatlock 3rd and Anderson 4th.
Scott Garceau:There was also a battle for the 2nd Reciever Slot.
Tom Matte:Yep, and Moore won that even though Clayton is a bit better.
Scott Garceau:The main factor there was experience.
    Tom Matte:It sure was Scott.
Scott Garceau:Well, to make a long story short, the Ravens beat the Falcons, Eagles, Saints and Redskins to go 4-0 in the preseason.
Tom Matte:Coach Billick was very proud of the lot.
Scott Garceau:We're going to take a break but in a bit we're gonna respond to some callers questions. (Please post any questions or comments and they will be answered. You may direct them to any player, coach, front office guy or host)

      Jack FM: January 1st, 2006 (con't)

Scott Garceau:Hello, we're back on 102.7 Jack FM.
Tom Matte:And we're gonna recap the season that was.
Scott Garceau:The Ravens were very streaky this year.
Tom Matte:Yep, but they were on 2 winning streaks and 1 losing streak
Scott Garceau:The first week the Ravens upstet the Colts 55-7
Tom Matte:The guys really came to play that Sunday. The coach was very impressed.
Scott Garceau:They carried that momentum to Week 2 where they beat the Titans 27-15
Tom Matte:After that game they looked like favorites for the Super Bowl.
Scott Garceau:Next week they had a bye.
Tom Matte:Teams never like to have a bye week during a winning streak, but they continued to impress in Week 4.
Scott Garceau:They beat the Jets 24-14.
Tom Matte:The key in that one was to stop Curtis Martin, and they did that
Scott Garceau:They then beat the Lions 14-3.
Tom Matte:Probobly their worst game to the point.
Scott Garceau:Yes, but they did end up with the victory, but thay continued the bad play in Week 6 versus the Browns.
Tom Matte:Yep, they lost 14-7, the team just underestemated the Browns.
Scott Garceau:Then, they lost to the lowly Bears 14-10
Tom Matte:At this point we were thinking it was all a fluke.
Scott Garceau:But then they put up a good fight againdt the Steelers in Week 8, but, in the end losing 24-19.
Tom Matte:The Ravens D just couldn't contain Big Ben, he ran for some key 1st downs.
Scott Garceau:They then lost to the then Division Leading Bengals 14-10 in Week 9.
Tom Matte:This was a horrible game by both teams, Palmer had 0 passing yards after the first half and Boller had thrown 2 INTs and no TDs.
Scott Garceau:I believe Boller was taken out by coach Billichek after the first half in favour of Anthony Wright.
Tom Matte:Wright then threw an interception on his 3rd play.
Scott Garceau:And the Coach, pulling out all the stops, put in Rookie QB Michael Tatlock.
Tom Matte:He did the best of the 3 completing 3 of his 11 passes for 45 yards, 0 INTs but still no TDs.
Scott Garceau:In Week 10 Boller got the nod despite his lackluster performance the previous week.
Tom Matte:He played well but just couldn't get any TDs in the 23-0 shutoutv by the Jaguars.
Scott Garceau:But, at long last, they redeemed themselves, facing the Steelers for the second time in Week 11.
Tom Matte:Lewis ran over the Stealers and the D contained Roethlisberger in the 24-17 Raven win.
Scott Garceau:They then continued redeeming themselves against the Bengals in Week 12.
Tom Matte:Again, another horrible performance by a Bengals QB, this time, however, it was Jon Kitna, due to the injury to Palmer.
Scott Garceau:They followed up their 27-7 victory against the Bengals with a 35-10 win versus Houston.
Tom Matte:They got to David Carr time and time again.
Scott Garceau:In Week 14 they beat the Broncos at Mile High 34-21.
Tom Matte:We were then seeing the Ravens of the first few weeks.
Scott Garceau:On Monday Night Football in Week 15 they beat the Packers 41-21.
Tom Matte:They sacked immobile QB Brett Favre a few times in that game. The Ravens exploited the Packers' thin Defenence, which was without all 3 Linebackers and 1 safety.
Scott Garceau:They followed that up in Week 16 on Sunday Night Football, beating the Minnesota Vikings and their backup QB 38-14.
Tom Matte:The Vikings lost alot without the mobility of Dante Cullpepper
Scott Garceau:They clinched a playoff berth in that one with a 10-5 record.
Tom Matte:And we'll see if they can claim first place in the AFC North this afternoon against the Browns.
Scott Garceau:We'll be back after this break to answer some of our listeners' questions. (Please ask any questions, directed at anyone)

Question for both analysts- I see that the Ravens had a great defensive year. Who do you feel had the most impact on their great season?

Scott Garceau:We've got Darryl on the line in Washington D.C. (pause)
                    Tom Matte:Are you there Darryl?
Scott Garceau:Well, I guess Darryl's not on the line anymore. Let's go to line 2 with Chris in New York?
                    Tom Matte:A webstreamer, eh Chris?
Chris:Yep, my question is this: What was Michael Tatlock's outlook going into Training Camp and if he though he could make a big impact for the Ravens this year?
Scott Garceau:Tatlock was very optimistic about the Ravens chances going into Training Camp. He thought Kyle Boller was going to have a breakout year.
Tom Matte: He didn't expect to get much playing time, if any but he thought he could be a good influence in the locker room.
                    Chris:Thanks alot guys.
Scott Garceau:Now, we've got Pete in Maryland on the line.
Tom Matte:Webstreaming is very popular these days I see.
Scott Garceau:Apparently, Pete, are you there?
Pete:Ya, I'm here, I haven't been following the Ravens much this year so I'm wondering whether the game against the Jets was Tatlock's only appearence.
Scott Garceau:Tatlock played every snap out of the goaline formation and the 4th quarter of the opener against the Colts. Coach Billick gave us 2 reasons for having him playing in the Goaline formation.
Tom Matte:One was because he considers Tatlock stronger, therefore, more apt for Quarterback sneaks, and he could throw the ball about 5 yards just as good as anybody
                    Pete:And the second?
Tom Matte:The second was that he wanted to reduce the chance of injury of Boller.
                    Pete:Okey, thanks for your time.
Scott Garceau:Now we've got Mr. Reel from Jersey on the line
Tom Matte:I won't even make a comment about Webstreamers this time.
                    Scott Garceau:Hello Mr. Reel.
Mr. Reel: Hi, I see that the Ravens did great on Defence this year, who do you guys think had the biggest impact on their great season?
Tom Matte:I would say CB Chris McAllister, he was one of 2 Pro Bowlers on the Ravens' D. He had quite a few receptions and returned 1 or 2 of them for TDs
Scott Garceau:DE Weaver also did great, making the Pro Bowl. He got to the QB alot this year.
                    Mr Reel:Thanks for your opinions
Scott Garceau:We'll be back after this break. Again, keep your questions comming!

Scott Garceau:We're back on Jack FM. We're gonna take one more caller before the game.
Tom Matte:We've got Mr. Pac on the line I believe.
Scott Garceau:Are you there Mr. Pac?
Mr. Pac:Yep, I'm wondering whether Ed Reed or Ray Lewis were injured at all because they didn't make the pro bowl. Or did they just under achieve.
Tom Matte:The only injury this year was to Demps, he only missed one game. Lewis and Reed underachieved. The Offences usally tried to throw it to the sidelines to avoid Lewis and Reed, McAllister and Rolle took advantage of that with multiple interceptions. Also, the Ravens didn't blitz much except out of the nickle and dime packages where they sent the Nicklebacks and Dimebacks quite a few times. So, Lewis didn't record many sacks.
Scott Garceau:But, although only 2 defensive players made the Pro Bowl, 6 made it on Offence, the entire O-Line and Tight End Todd Heap.
Mr. Pac:Okey, thanks for clearing that up for me.
Scott Garceau:Well, game time's at the top of the hour so for Tom Matte I'm Scott Garceau on Late Night Sports. Hope you tune in for the ballgame.

                          NFL Primetime-ESPN-January 1st, 2006 7:30pm

Chris Berman:And, we're back on NFL Primetime and we're going to go to Cleveland. This game has a big impact on the AFC North.
Tom Jackson:The key for the Browns in this one is to shut down the running game of the Ravens so that Kyle Boller has to go to the air more often than he wants.
Chris Berman:Tatlock gets his team on the board here with a 2 yard QB Keeper.
Tom Jackson:The O-line really did a good job penetrating into the D-Line to give enough room for the rookie to get the yards he needed.
Chris Berman:On the next drive the Browns are on the opponents' 40 and Droughnes gets the handoff. HE COULD GO ALL THE WAY!
Tom Jackson:Droughnes finds a hole and keeps on running.
Chris Berman:The Browns capitalize on the Extra Point to tie it up 7-7. Now to the second quarter, Tatlock again on the sneak from the 2 scores.
Tom Jackson:This was after 3 failed attemps from his backs.
Chris Berman:Stover would then hit 2 FGs before the end of the half to make it 20-7 going into the half. He would hit 1 more on the day.
Tom Jackson:He was on this afternoon
Chris Berman:Now on to the second half where Tatlock hs it again on the 2 and this time passes it to Tight End Todd Heap for the TD.
Tom Jackson:THe Bears were looking for the sneak and Tatlock fooled him with this pin point pass.
Chris Berman:Boller would then throw this 20 yard pass to Derrek Mason to make the game 37-7 and seal the deal.
Tom Jackson:Yes, this was a great game by the Ravens.
Chris Berman:The final score was 37-10 Ravens. They didn't score any points in the 4th quarter because the backups played.
Tom Jackson:And with that win the Ravens could win the AFC North if the Bengals lose to the Chiefs.
Chris Berman:And the did lose 52-14, so the Ravens will get the Bye.
Tom Jackson:I think this Ravens team deserves this, they did bad for a few weeks in the beginning of the season after their great start but then fought back to win the Division.
