Re: Seattle Sonics(NBA 2K6 360)
Sonics come from 15 down to win opener
The Seattle Sonics were down by 15 at half time and were able to come from behind to beat the visiting Los Angeles Clippers in what was the season opening game for both teams.
"We were happy to get out of there with a win," Commented Sonics head coach Bob Weiss, "There's some things we need to work on for sure, but you also have to realise that it is the first game of the season."
Surprisingly, the Sonics outside shooting wasn't getting the job done, so coach Bob Weiss decided to switch it up and go to an inside approach. The move paid off as the Sonics went on several key runs late in the game which lifted them to the victory.
"That's what you do when something isn't working, you switch it up. If that doesn't work you can switch it up again, you work until you find something that gets you results." Commented Weiss.
The Sonics will look to improve their record to 2-0 to start the season when they will host Kevin Garnett and the rest of the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, November 4th.
Other Game Notes: Clippers guard Sam Cassell went down with a strained abdominal muscle in the second quarter of LA's loss to Seattle. He will be out for about two weeks.Last edited by cooldude; 12-27-2005, 02:13 AM. -

Lewis beats buzzer to lead Sonics to 'W'
Rashard Lewis knocked down a mid-range jumper just as time expired in the fourth quarter to give his team, the Seattle Sonics, 128-126 victory over the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves.
"That's what big time players do. They hit big shots at crucial times when they are called upon to do so." Said Sonics head coach Bob Weiss. Lewis was much more humble about the whole situation, though.
"I'm just happy I knocked down the shot," said Lewis, "All that matters is that we picked up the victory."
Lewis was the Sonics leading scorer in tonights game. He dropped thirty-five points, he second consecutive game with thirty or more. He also had six helpers to go along with it.
The Sonics will look to run their record to a perfect 3-0 to start the season off when they take to the road for the first time this year. Heading to Memphis for the first night of back to back games and the start of a six game road swing on November 8th.Comment
