-I'll update every series, usually playing 1 or 2 games a series, but that depends on what mood I'm in, and how much fun I'm having with this team.

              Off-Day

San Francisco - New owner Greg Callaghan, has pledged to do whatever it takes to make this Giants team a playoff team, including trading away anyone for the right price, as long as it improved the team, or made the team younger while keeping their talent level.

The talks started today, as Callaghan announced the Giants were willing to listen to any deal involving 3B Pedro Feliz, OF Steve Finley, and 2B Ray Durham. None of the players, nor their agents, were available for comments, however we were able to receive the following from Callaghan. "I promised, when I took over this team, to not only improve the team, but set it up for a long run of success. In order to do that, we're going to have to improve a rather poor farm system. That is my first goal; keeping the talent level at the major league level, but also improving the depth of talent we have in our farm system."

                  Re: 2006 San Francisco Giants(MVP05)

Injuries; Shaky Play Spark Early Moves

San Francisco - After both Jamey Wright and Lance Niekro went down with injuries requrining stints on the 15-day disabled list, the San Francisco Giants have called up pitcher Brad Hennessy from AAA-ball and Outfielder Fred Lewis from Double-A ball. Hennessy will take Wright's spot in the rotation until Wright is healthy, and may keep a spot on the major-league roster depending on his performance.

Lewis, on the other hand, was mainly called up to see how he would respond to facing major league talent. He may get one or two starts while Niekro is on the disabled list, either at first or in the outfield, but will more-than-likely be used in pinch-hit and pinch-running situations.

Also, owner Greg Callaghan has lived up to his word that he was dead-set on improving the team's farm-system, acuiring 2B/SS prospect Brandon Phillips from the Cinncinati Reds orginization. Phillips, the once highly touted Indians prospect, was traded to the Reds before the season, but after free-agent Bobby Hill was taken off the market, the Giants approached the Reds front office, and were able to add Phillips to their AAA team for SP Matt Kinney, 2B prospect Anthony Labarbera and a player to be named later or cash considerations. Neither Phillips, nor his agent, were available for comment, and Callaghan only stood behind the trade, saying: "Phillips has the potential to be a staple in our line-up for many years to come, and we didn't see Kinney or Labarbera doing much for our organization."
