The Big XII is by far the best conference in the land with Nebraska sitting at #1, OU #2 and Texas at #4. Texas A&M, Kansas St and OSU are all off to 4-0 starts as well. OSU faces all 5 of these teams this year so they hope to get to a bowl game they must win a couple of these games. #1 Nebraska is first on the list this Saturday and they need Freshman Qb Takeo Bridges to perform under control. Bridges has shown signs of brilliance but has struggled for the most part completing only 34 of 77 passes for 3 tds and 5 int. He has fumbled several times as well. A lot of speculation this week is the Coach Cupp will go with a 2 Qb system allowing Last years Starter Adam Herring to get some playing time. Herring came off the bench in the Tulsa game to rally the team and get the win. Cupp hopes to stick with Bridges but doesnt know if he can produce or not.
Nebraska on the other hand is led by its powerful running game. David Horne is the front runner for the Heisman, as he has ran for 549 yards and 5 tds in his first 4 games, while Jr. Deon Benton has added 360 yards. Nebraska leads the nation in rushing at 281 yards per game. Osu is not far behind averinging 208 yards and 12th in teh country overall. Their Freshman Tailback has shined in every game except for the Tulsa game. He is averaging 6 yards a carry and has 11 tds in 4 games.
Bottom line: OSU must establish a running game and avoid costly mistakes taht have terrorized them all year.
